- This is a 1979 Baby Great Lakes that I purchased at the beginning of the summer of 2023. With me in it and full fuel she weighs a little over 700 lbs, and is powered by a Continental A65 (65 horsepower). Very fun to fly. The airport is Grove Field 1W1, just northeast of PDX.
I have never seen fabric on a wing buffet like that. Doesn’t seem right.
The cam should have been placed in a better position, not on your helmet. Visibility zero😊
So good to see another Baby Lakes. I love mine!
I love the plane. I think you need a little more heat shrink on the skins though. That flapping is going to cause weak points.
Awesome little biplane. I thought it was RC at first lol
There's someone who knows how to hand prop an airplane.
This is nothing compared to racing the Maico 501 in the open expert class, talk about flying.
Nice plane, nice video, but could you ware the camera lower so as to see below the wing and above the fuselage. Sorry for complaining.
You bought that one from a museum? I think it was in a museum? 65 hp?
One thing we added to J-3 Cubs was a banner tow hook on the tailwheel. Connect it to a tie down rope and you have a safe, one-man way to hand prop. Great looking plane. Plan to take it to OSHKOSH?
I would love to have one, sure miss flying
That is so cool. I bet it’d be even cooler with a O-200 in it.
You need some strings on those chocks for safer removal.
BOM PASSEIO AÉREO 👍👍 🇧🇷
I want one.
Thanks showing. Great baby Great Lakes, what powers it?
🐝 💨
Is that Grove Field?
How long is the wingspan?
