    SO happy to see this video of Chris! While waiting out the Storm Saturday afternoon at Portage, WI (C47) we tried so hard to figure out who owned the Baby Lakes so we could get pics together with our Stearman. We both settled for getting our own pics with the plane but the two would have looked so good together in the famous Blue and Yellow!
    Loved your Plane Chris! Pretty darn tiny though after crawling down out of the Stearman!

      Thanks for the kind comments, last year I attended the under the wire Stearman flyin in Louise, Texas. So many beautiful Stearmans there every year.
      One day I hope to make it to Galesburg.

    50mph stall, since lower wing has ailerons, why not rebuild upper wing to add top wing mechanical fowler flaps? Flaps that move back and down to increase wing cord similar to Lockheed electra. 30 degree down flap could be a nice inbetween level for more lower speed. Space it away from fuselage enough to keep visual awareness.

    Which engine's on this?
    The reference to a Ground Power Unit implies a Lycoming O-290.

    5:29 Starting at 30% power and then gradually reducing power to take off? Nice plane though.

    Admitting to the world and the FAA that you soloed at 14 is why we have high insurance rates. Keep some stuff to yourself Chris.

    • @chrishiatt9686
      @chrishiatt9686 10 месяцев назад

      Yep, my actions 41 years ago are obviously why rates are high today. Thanks for the well thought out comment.

      @@chrishiatt9686 That statement was precise and to the point. Your show boating attitude about when you soloed tells people you’re an unsafe pilot and will make bad decisions. Say that to your friends and not the world. Your statement “brakes are life” is another reason why people will judge your decision making process. Get a real tailwheel on it and have directional control without smoking your brakes. Good luck if a brake fails.

    • @chrishiatt9686

      Nailed it! I wake up making bad decisions and routinely continue throughout my day making worse decisions.
      I flew the plane 100 hours with a steerable tailwheel and it did little to nothing. I’m approaching 400 hours and have yet to “smoke” my brakes.
      But thank you so much for the “smarter than me” opinion and the laughs.

      @@chrishiatt9686 unfortunately no one laughs when you speak. We only cringe.

      Cringe! Dear God I can’t imagine how upset you’d be to see half the stuff I call fun. Now go back to your safe place and leave me to my adrenaline chasing. It’s the most fun I’ve had since I retired and left the 2 way rifle range.
