    As Jeremy Clarcson once said, Peugeot was once a cool car company, doing cool car company stuff, then they decided to make dull cars for old people. For the last couple of years i see they decided to do cool cars once again. Well done Peugeot.

    As a french guy i always found that french cars (recntly 2000 to 2015) looked not that good. But i have to say that with DS it was the start of our comeback ! Peugeot has stepped up its game since the new series. I can safely say that i could go for a french car by now which was something unimaginable previously in terms of design. However I still feel that the engine and motorisation needs a bit of work. These new looks are kind of sporty and aggressiv which is great but now we need to have better engine to fit with those amazing looking cars

      I feel exactly the same way. Politics killed our sport cars industry. But even with that we managed to be pretty remarkable with the RS brand. It's a shame that we let these idiots comand our industry. Apparently electrical powers might help us to be more competitive power wise. The bummer is that we are the champions of luxury and excellence and our auto industry keep doing cheap/middle status type of cars... we could bring so much to the table, it's a shame.

    • @HysteryProduction
      @HysteryProduction Год назад +17

      Problem with Peugeot (or any french manufacturer really) is the reliability. Even with strict maintenance their engines have a *lot* of flaws and defects that can easily cost an arm and a leg. I myself have a 208 GTI with the infamous 1.6 THP 200bhp engine, and when you end up with a receipt of 5500 euros for a full upper engine change (so cylinder head and gasket) when the car is barely 80,000km and january 2014 old, it hurts.

    • @thejecs8
      @thejecs8 Год назад +14

      @@HysteryProduction well, maybe because that engine was co-engineered with BMW. The 1.4 Hdi and 1.6 Hdi were quite reliable and economical, the current 1.5 Hdi has some problems with the adblue system, but that's something that the majority of cars have and the 1.2 puretech, after the belt redesign (2018 onwards) is quite reliable and punchy (it's noisy though). My family has 3 PSA cars with the 1.4 Hdi engine, my sister has 350k km on her c3, I've 208k on my c3 and my mother has 150k km in her 207. They're quite reliable, on mine I've to change the fuel valve in the next service, but considering my parents home is 150km from my current work (I'm a teacher in Portugal and we basically have to travel through the entire country) I put 300km in a single weekend, with the car packed with clothes and some food. My sister's car (she's also a teacher) is from 2002 and it's still going strong, the best part is the consumption (my mean is between 3.8 and 5.1, so it's quite frugal)

    Dude it's a security feature if you accidentally unlock the car and not proceed with opening the door, the ECU will sent a lock door request after 60-90 seconds of inactivity... it's somehow anointing but you just need to open the door slightly to interrupt the mechanism and it will never lock up again......and the steering wheel is amaising but then again I am 186 cm and it never blocks the HMI...personally I love the fact that it's position is customizable...
