Programming your car’s Homelink garage door opener

Most new cars use the same Homelink system to control your garage door opener. Programming them is easy once you know the steps. I verified this process works with BMWs, Lexus, Subaru and Infiniti cars.
Please note that your garage opener may have a maximum number of remote controller it can learn about. Mine is 10. If you attempt to add an 11th controller, it will drop the oldest it knows about. This may be an outside keypad or the clicker itself since they were the first devices to be paired up with the system. If this happens, you will have to have the opener in the garage learn about the devices by clicking on the “learn” button and activating the device (click or type code in keypad)
