This didn't work directly until I ran into the below comment on another forum. Hoping this might help someone as well. 'You took the door opener remote to the car and had the car learn from the remote and then you pushed the yellow learn button on the opener and within 30 seconds you pushed the HomeLink button in the car three times getting the correct number of blinks of the LED in the car so the opener could learn the codes from the car' After pairing with the door opener remote, you need to pair with the learn button.
I tried both ways with my new 2024 RAV4, Finally went to Genie Support, Model 1055TKV. 1. Clear HomeLink (HL) codes. 2. Press remote for 10 seconds (do not release) 3. Press HL button until light flashes, release both buttons. 4. Press Genie Program button on opener (Blue light flashes) 5. Press HL button for 1 second release, repeat 2 more times. My door opened on 3rd push. Your video was a great help in getting me started.
Great! I keep trying without success to program 24 Taos with a Genie garage door opener. I just found this video AND your comment. What button is the Genie program button? The Genie opener is almost 12 yrs old so do not remember which button that is. Yikes! Guess I need to find the Genie YT page Probably need to clear out anything that might have tried to program. Lastly, I need to get in front of the door straight on vs the way I've hurriedly attempted in order to not clog the alley and impede other neighbors trying to get through. 🤪
THANK YOU! This was the only video that mentioned the 2 step process for rotating code - pair through the remote controller first AND THEN do the 'Learn' pairing with the garage opener. Other videos I watched had one or the other only. Thanks again!
This is a great video. I have new Mercedes. The owners manual does not work. The process at the dealer did not work. I spent hours then found this video. In four minutes this video worked with my tooling code garage door opener the first time. You are a wizard, thank you. I would give you an 11 out of 10 stars. Again thank you buddy.
We moved to a new house (new garage door opener), I’ve tried to sync our Highlander to the door opener no luck, I just gave up and used the remote 😩. We just bought a new Subaru, tried multiple times to program it to homelink ( even called garage door company), watched 3 RUclips videos, still no luck ☹️. Finally I watched this video, you are the ONLY person who said the car had to be facing the garage 😳 ( didn’t have issue with only house garage was big, this house we have to back one car in and the other front in)….SOOO, it worked. Thank you, both cars are now programmed. By everyone assuming the cars were forward facing, screwed me up. Thank you.
I've watched about 8 other videos including from Toyota and the genie (the garage opener i have) and none of them worked until i watched yours. I appreciate this.
Ty sir! I spent 30 mins reading my owners manual and surfing for help. I tried multiple ways to get the openers to link up to no avail and gave up (for awhile). I them stumbled on your walk through. Yours worked. I followed it step by step and won! :-)
Great video bro, thank you....after watching so many videos, your video explains perfectly for my 2019 bmw M850i convertible and my dad's 2020 bmw x5. Thanks
Mazda CX-5 2016: 1. Garage Door Opener red button pressed once for a short time. 2. In less than 30 seconds pressed and kept pressed the button on the mirror until the garage door opener blinked and then pressed again to see the door closing. Thank you.
dont forget to tell people your car needs to be OUTSIDE for that last part to work! i was trying it and failing cause my car was inside the garage when i tried to program it using the learn button on the garage door opener.
this is so annoying! I have an over-height garage, which means I'm not tall enough to click the Learn button unless standing on the car's door frame. have to get a ladder And it doesn't work DX
Just bought 2023 Forester. I do not have the hand-held remote any longer for my garage door opener. Is there a way to pair these if I cannot possibly perform the first step of using the hand-held opener?
I tried syncing my Genie garage door opener both ways numerous times to a 2014 RAM, 2014 F-150, and a 2024 Expedition all right in front of the garage and none of the vehicles homelink were synced to my opener. Any other suggestions????
Would you happen to know where the learn button is located on the Genie Model 7155L. I looked all over the manual and I can't find it's location. There is a square buttom marked PRGM only that I see. Thanks.
How do I clear the middle (2nd) button only? I wanna program that button next & it might be set up to another garage, I dont wanna have to reset them all since I am using the 1st button on the very left, its a 2008 Acura also if that matters. Thanks
Ill tell you, but if you need a visual, I show you how to do it right after we program the first button in the video. Get the garage remote control in your hand, push the button you want to reset and hold it in your cars unit. It might take 10 or 20 seconds. When you notice the blinking pattern change, push your garage button remote in your hand and make sure it’s next to the unit in the car while holding both buttons. When your cars button indicator light changes pattern the second time, it has the signal. Now you can open the car garage. If you have a car garage with a revolving code, you will need to program your car signal with the garage receiver. I show you how to do that in the video. Good luck!
@Strategy and Performance Thanks for responding so quickly, I should have mentioned I dont have the clicker to get in, I use a key to open the garage, so is it possible without the clicker?
I have a slightly different mirror. The 2020 camrys kind of have another led besides the green/red. I reset them but I still get the green solid light.
Trying to program my rav 4 and having trouble. Everything seems to work properly with flashing green light but it still does not operate the garage door. Any ideas?
@@strategyandperformance to program to my car. When I hold both buttons down (rear view mirror and garage clicker) it just keeps blinking red slowly. It never blinks fast. My car is a 2004 infiniti G35.
The toughest question so far. If you have a car garage but are missing the remotes, you’ll have to look up the manufacturers website and find out if you can program a new car garage remote with their receiver unit. The hard part is how how close you need to put that new garage remote to the actual box. If it’s not close, you may be able to program your car unit by being parked two or 1 feet behind the garage box above your car. If that doesn’t work order a cheap garage door opener compatible to your garage door to program it. Once that’s programmed you can use that garage remote to program your car units.
Oh no!! Did you try pairing it with your garage? Those instructions are later in the video. If it’s fixed let me know. Some people might be able to do the same thing if they have that problem.
You are very smart my friend. 1. Reset all the buttons (hold 1st and 3rd button at the same time until the light flickers fast. 2. Push the button you want to program and hold it, then push and hold your garage door opener remote button and hold it next to the car garage door button you are holding. When the button light flashes fast it’s done. 3. Push the button to open the car garage. If it does not open, look at the video on the section to program your garage receiver.
We are having trouble pairing a 2006 Toyota 4-Runner to a new 81600 Liftmaster. Even the experienced installer couldn’t solve the issue. My question is, Wouldn’t pressing the LEARN button clear out the garage remote, the extra remote and the other vehicle already paired and working?
This didn't work directly until I ran into the below comment on another forum. Hoping this might help someone as well.

The trick with the actual door opener button in the garage worked because of the revolving code . This helped more than other videos .
I’m glad it helped. Thanks boss!

Did you post a video on how to program to a community gate? I hear you mention it at the end of this video. Thanks
Do you absolutely have to have the garage door remote? Or can you program it without one?
👍🏼👍🏼 for 2 cars!!
Thank you boss!

Does this work for apartment gates?
It depends, you’ll have to check with the management. Technically, it should. Some of those gates are similar to subdivision gates.
Is it possible to save the frequency from a car button to a remote. WE lost the remote that has the community gate code.
Can I do this with more then one house? Can you please tell me the steps if you can please? Thank you.
Yes, you can if you have multiple buttons. It’s the same for every button. If you watch the hole video, you will see how to reset one of the buttons.
I would like to know If I program the remote opener does it effect the number code key pad opener?
No it does not.
Would you happen to know where the learn button is located on the Genie Model 7155L. I looked all over the manual and I can't find it's location. There is a square buttom marked PRGM only that I see. Thanks.
That it. Did that work?
How can I program second garage door to my vehicle if I have 2 houses?
If you watch the whole video, I show you how to program only one button. Follow that example and you can get a second garage door.
Can you reset only one of the buttons without resetting all of them?
Yes, if you watch the video, I go over it a little further down.
Good luck!
