When you press or press and hold the orange button on the garage opener, would it affect the rest of the garage door opener such as the other remote handset or MyQ app? Thanks
Yes 1st I cleared the BMW codes, then I cleared the garage door codes and it's a rolling code so you have to do it quickly like in the video, a partner helper does help. All garage doors are a little different, thanks for watching the video.

I have a 2005 BMW 330CI and needed another garage opener, well 2 years ago I upgraded the rear view mirror with compass and it has the home link garage door opener too, so I barely watched your video in the morning and when I got back home started programming the garage opener and ... it worked! thanks for your detailed step by step video really help me out and didn't had to buy another opener.
My only question is how do I program something else without deleting the previous programming

It works. Thank you. And yes. You have to hold the learn button for at least 2-3 seconds after the program button on the BMW is pressed.
This worked on my 2018 BMW X1 thank you! Interesting that using the learn button in the garage unit wasn’t needed.
I've done me and my mothers car on the same garage both bmws with no issues and now I had to add the extra step idk what happened but i appreciate the help worked like a charm 👍
Hello, I would say with a new 2012 that it should have some memory buttons somewhere for the garage door opener. Check the glove box for the Manuel or I would call the rental car company and have them talk you through the process, they hopefully know more about the newer model cars. Thanks for watching.

Got a new garage door opener. I programmed it with the handheld garage opener using your method. Took me 5 tries, but I got! Frustrating because my old garage door opener would only work by pressing the "Learn" button on the unit.

You've cleared out all the codes in the garage door opener. Does the "regular" garage door opener (i.e. not the BMW) need to be reprogrammed?

+chris jonshonson awesome, it's a great car just be prepared to fix the issues that arise, but it'll run a long time, of course fixing it yourself saves a lot I mean a lot of money, I almost have 200,000 miles on mine now, and it's still going strong for a 2006. At your age I would recommend starting your own RUclips channel if you don't have one, start making videos like mine and you'll help others:) enjoy:)

Thanks I got this to work! Though with mine, after successful programming, I have to hold the homelink button down for what seems like 5 seconds before it'll open/close the garage door. I know I have good range because with my remotes, I can simply push it from pretty far away and it opens/closes the door right away. Any ideas?
hmmm, maybe something is blocking the signal, I noticed that mine sometimes works far away and then close it takes a little bit also. But I noticed this with my other remotes as well, might be signal blockage, or maybe the infer-red windshield, I'm not 100% sure, I'll look into this some more. Thanks for watching the video.

Doesn't work. There is no learn button on mine. My garage opener stopped working now.
Does it apply for a garage with many cars? I don't want to erase the code so that other people cannot open the door. Thanks.

Ay just a little tip that no one fucken mentions you have to hold on to the button for a second I was in my garage for like 10 minutes thinking it wasn’t working but I was just pressing it quick and letting go feeling like a dumbass in front of my neighbors (e90)

Thanks. Well I will give this a try. However, I programmed the button in my 2011 X5 50i a couple of years ago and it has always worked fine. Now I'm trying to program the button in my new BMW 135 and I can't get it to work. For a rolling code opener the handbook says to press the button on the garage door opener first and while it is flashing fast, you have about 30 seconds to push the desired button on the mirror 3 times! However, this does not work. Anyone else had this same problem?

This isnt working. It registers, blinks rapidly, but the buttons wont open the door.
This did work on my car but it erased all of my other garage door openers I had in my other cars . How can fix this problem ?
I wish Bmw could store them again easily but unfortunately you'll have to reprogram your other remotes again.
