DESCRIPTION
The owner of this HJ Holden wanted it returned to its former glory, with a few upgrades along the way.
The body showed signs of age with bubbles forming underneath the paint. Overall a good tidy project to start a restoration.
The body was dismantled and all parts were documented, labeled and stored before the body was put on a rotisserie in preparation of sandblasting.
Sandblasting revealed rust in the usual areas such as the sills, the floor and rear quarters. As part of the rust repairs, lead was removed so as not to affect the paint and preparation process of modern paint systems.
After metal and body work, the re-built sub-frame was mated to the body and work commenced fitting all new or re-built components. An alarm and immobiliser was installed as part of the final fit-out.

Guauuuuu ! Excelente trabajo , quedó como salido de agencia,👏👏👏👏👏
Hey,nice video.. good luck with your chanel ⚒🤝
Great job,but would have re plumed AC to existing vents to get rid of baulky box and would put original gts HJ rims ,still very nice car.
WOW...I had one...what a dream to do this I wish
💛💛💛
i had a HX GTS same color (lima yellow) had it for 15 years nice to see it with the original honey comb wheels& caps ( they are rubber moulded over steel rims ex american pontiac) color coded bumpers would have looked better the only difference with the HX was the painted blacked out bonnet and the GTS on the rear doors and on the back of the boot lid and color coded mirrors
The HX also had less horsepower from its emission controlled engine.
Correct but you could change the heads and exhaust and block of the emissions gear just don’t get caught I have been busted a couple of times had to put the original air cleaner and make it look like the pollution gear is working (good idea to keep the original gear if you have it) they clamped down in the 1980’s and 90’s but the cops seam to have forgotten about the early holdens
Show.
