Thank you for this video. I needed to replace my Badger 15ss and this video definitely helped me by showing me what to expect and keeping my frustration to a 1 on a scale of 1-10.
One thing that might help some of us older folks or not so strong folks is to get something to put under the disposal to help take the old one off and the new one on. I used some 2x4's stacked up to just about 1/2" under the disposal. That way when it came off, I could easily set it down that far and more importantly I rested the new disposal on the 2x4's to line it up and only had to lift it that small distance. For me, that made a big difference from the last time I installed one.

Thanks for the video, but just to let you know, the terms clockwise and counterclockwise are always relative to the threads they connect to, so you actually turn the ring clockwise to tighten and counterclockwise to loosen. Just being nitpicky! But the basic idea of how to remove and install the disposal came through loud and clear! Great job! Thanks!

Read about wire matching! When I did my own garbage disposal, the power cord had a system of ribbed wire for nuetral and smooth wire for hot, which matched the the nuetral white and hot black wires of the disposal. This was for my specific model and cable. Don't assume yours will be the same. Always read through your instillation instructions and check how wires should be connected.
Other than that I found this video fairly helpful for what to expect with an instillation.

It's a problem all the time here non stop, while I'm in the middle of any job, I'm being told about four other things that will arise but in due time, but it's bothering the shit out of her, but I let her spill it all and assure her it's going to get done, oh, Yeah! I have shop towels and that's what I better be using , same rules here too, But she's a helper too a good quality in her but some jobs like this one are just solo. Still awaiting the next question and here it comes & it never fails, how long is this one going to last. We've got away with the old one for 20 years at least so! We are in our Senior old far and old bat years, so I replied a life time. LoL. No shit. That's all she wanted to hear. Anyhow! Enjoyed the tutorial and had no problem following you on the replacement. Thanks! Brother, & best to ya both. God is LOVE.

My wife has a penchant for dropping shot glasses in the disposal and also running the disposal for half a second with no water and calling it good. Trying to bring it up to her completely backfired. Instead of going to battle again, I’ve conceded to constantly replacing my garbage disposal in order to preserve what is left of peace in my life.
Just wanted to say thank you so much for this video. I just finished replacing my 2nd badger in 6 months and this video saved me a ton of cash on having to not hire a guy.
Also, any marriage counselor recommendations would be appreciated.

so which was does your disposal spin when you turn it on? It's designed to spin clockwise...if it spins counterclockwise, you connected the power wires backwards...

You need a strain relief on that hole where the wire feeds into the unit. It will keep the connections from getting pulled loose at the wire nuts and protect the cord from getting cut by the chassis. If not properly grounded, a cut cord touching the metal could electrify the sink and not trip the circuit breaker.

You explained it well but that threaded hole you pushed the cord wire thru needed a ROMEX connector. Don’t over tighten the connector on your cord when screwing the connector holding screws in.
