Lentil is a legume, Lintel is a horizontal support across a door or window.
would you expect me to have anything less than food on my mind ?
@@John_Malecki we like lintels better than lentils
Pittsburgians dont speak the english good
At least he isn’t saying “header”.
Disclaimer: I don’t actually care, I just figured that since we’re splitting hairs over semantics, I would join in with the pointlessness of it all. Have a good day.
Would've been nice to see a final overlook of the completed project.
I can never let my wife watch this. She will want doors like that put in for our deck. They look amazing. Well done.
Loved the guy trying to shake out his shirt while the other guy was knocking more crap down into it 😂😂
Have watched from the beginning and I’m so happy everything went mostly smoothly for you. The decking, the outside kitchen, and now the doors all look absolutely fabulous, I bet you are going to have some wonderful BBQs and good times on that deck. Plus you have added to the value of the property. So win win win.
I like the doors John, glad you got the brick work re-pointed, nothing like a falling wall to ruin your decking. Thanks for sharing
Where's the full final product shot?? You needed a drone shot at the end of the video to give us the full experience of the deck!! We've been on this journey with you and you just leave us hanging????
He does that on pretty much every video imo, quick shot of the finished product and then outro.
unknown nah generally there’s a bunch of b-roll of the final product
yep the doors were hung too
The video I have been waiting for since the beginning of this series.
Hey man, Can we see how he dry storage came out? Sweet build!
Love the show and the series. Great to see a Franklin Regional Alum (kids attend) doing big things locally. Keep it up John and the team.
hell ya!
I've watched all the videos and on the edge of my seat waiting for this one. Beautiful!! I want those doors lol. Thanks for the great videos you shared. Loved them all!!!
Incredible series! I wish I had 10% of the talent (and tools!) you do in this work. I'd have an epic deck too! Thanks for sharing John!
I see your comments that you have some more work to do, if you can do a 7th video once it's done to show the deck, the storage, and how the basement/cellar door works after being covered by the deck, it would be very helpful to understand the end of the project. Great build and tips!
I agree with Bradford. We need a 7th in the series to get the overview and all finishing touches once you can get them!
That brick actually looks pretty good for being how old it is.
That brick is about as old as Australia (which was federated in 1901)
Good job all around. The doors are beautiful. Love the hardware. And I agree with Kevin below ... drone, drone, drone!!!!!
Absolutely love mahogany. The best fine furniture was all made out the stuff: relatively light weight, incredibly strong (ribbon back chairs), and absolute gorgeous finish without even trying.
Hey john, love what your doing. You inspired me to get back into woodworking. Thanks for all the great content.
this is a perfect video for me. I may need more info on the flashing and the final trim molding that seals everything up but I've been looking to replace my front door for years.
This is an amazing series, you’re so talented!!!
Awesome door! Congratulations on the major upgrade....and preservation of your home.
John, I really love these home improvement vids. I love making furniture, but part of my woodworking journey is heading to making more practical things like door jams and deck steps. :)
Love your stuff, and thanks for continuing to make great content.
Looks so good! Thanks for sharing the progress!
After I'm finished building stuff, it's good to see someone who knows what he's doing.
I also have several safety perguards. Those doors looked great!
That door turned out amazing the whole project looks killer. Great job guys!!!!
With the new deck and the keg setup he did awhile back, it works so well together! Open the door and cool fresh beer.
Awesome job the deck and the French doors. Everything looks great. Time to get grilling and enjoy the awesome work that you have done. Love your videos they're great and funny also. Keep up the good work and enjoy it to your fully.
Great project. Love that door!
I've been waiting for this!!
Awesome job guys!!
Congrats on finishing this big project. Looks fantastic.
Turned out great
This is what I watched the whole series to see.. the doors look amazing. Good work.
Awesome job, this gives me some more ideas for my own house. Keep up the great work.
Looks awesome
That color though! Looks good!
Really great project. Well done
Great shirt! I also really like the black hardware and jamb. Very popular these days and makes it look expensive
That’s amazing. True carpenters. Love it.
This is why it is a good idea to seal brick, not talking paint, just a clear sealer that u can get in different sheens by many manufacturers. Brick is to porous and moves water from outside to inside of wall, and in certain areas that stay wet it will start causing rot and mold and all that good shit. I always recommend a brick sealer along with silicone around windows and doors, paintable silicone obvi if your windows are painted. I would recommend a penetrating sealer solvent based as it will last longer and not just be sitting on surface of brick. You apply it till it starts rejecting it, and super easy, airless sprayer, garden sprayer, or roller whatever u prefer. Bricks that stay wet due to the location, especially the mortar will start to deteriorate over time.
The best video series, really!
Please, continue with the house upgrading :)
Looks awesome man, I dig the door color and the black trim
Nice build. Lets see final shot of it all.
Ahhhhh dude. Crazy. Very very nice sir. Good job
Those doors really pop with the dark frame and mahogany! Killer series!
Man that turned out great! Your deck setup is so legit.
The doors look great John! 😃👍🏻👊🏻
John awesome video series loved it keep up the great craftsmanship and work make on my friend
Amazing work ! Love it 😀
Door looks real good.
It looks amazing!’
Cooking bacon while watching a new John Maleki video on the tubes. I'm living life right!
I am jealous
Don't be too jealous, I just realized I spelled your name wrong! Lol. Sorry brother!
Thats a big deck you got there.
Nice work John! Glad to see this video. The idiots that built my front stairs didn't properly pour a foundation so the bottom three steps are sinking. Need to remove the brick to pour a proper foundation trying to save as much brick as I can.
Great project sir, one day I'll be half as good as you! Keep cuttn' !!
Looks fantastic!
looks nice
Class finish 👍
Those are some nice looking doors!
thank funk, ive been watching you build a deck for a house that was falling down :D
Damn!!! Dude brought the entire brake to the site for the flashing! Turned out great!
Fairly new to the channel, Love the content! I find myself wishing you guys would show more final shots/B-roll at the end of your projects, I've watched this entire series and I feel like I've barely seen the deck at all.
its mostly because we cant get any materials right now and we had to hit some timelines for content. The fascia and railings are not done, we plan on doing some social stuff when its finished. we need some more fascia and what not tho.
Deck looks great but those doors are beautiful with the dark trim.
John- the only youtuber to greet his audience with "what's up, Ass Clowns?"
That door is nice!!!!
Great stuff.
The series idea was awesome!
I watch all your videos while I work. Awesome content
Great work man
Awesome series man!
Great work. Really like the colors and design you choose for the doors. You didn't show the dry storage or access steps to the basement.
I've been looking at the slumping bricks under that window for the last 5 episodes!!!
It looks great. The whole deck is amazing. When can we expect the video of the new landscaping?
wow~ Great job!!
Love it bro!!
That lipstick trick was hilarious the lipstick is probably one of those that doesn’t leave marks
Looks damn good!
👍👍👍👍looks awesome
I feel like we should mention the guy doing this in a business shirt and jeans?
Another class video buddy 👌🏼
i make doors for a livinig here in the uk, and over here we put the glass beading on the outside as it has a 9 degree chamfer on it to dispel the water away for the door. having the beading on the inside like you did means that it is square and retains the water causing water damage over time. Also have a 2" cill with same 9 degree chamfer to get the water away frome the house
Damn John that's looking 👀 mighty fine, what's the next house project 🤔 ?
👍🇬🇧
I seen that brick in a previous video and could tell that was gonna happen. Happened on another house in Pittsburgh I worked on
No zoomed out shot of the whole complete build? Been following this since day one and I've been looking forward to seeing it all as one!
That door is secsee!
I love this man, we need more sponsored builds so we get more videos
I know nothing about wood working and this industry but I subscribed and watch all your videos lol
Lintel... a lentil wouldn’t support much more than a skinny vegan
🤣🤣🤣
Yes. Thank you. It was driving me nuts.
Great series! will help when I build my deck. Quick question though, knowing you were going to demo that section of the wall below th window, would it have made sense to just get a longer bit and drill that test hole from the very beginning? To ensure the measurements from the start? Hole could have been filled with caulking or foam until you would have been at this point.
Haha ""they will be putting in the lentil "" hope you offer them some lintel soup lol
Might want to have those brick guys take a look at the other windows and doors. With what they found here, you might have other problem spots from the shody window replacement. Heck, they didn't even use foam to insulate the gap between the window jam and wall. I bet every window in your house has a cold ring around it in the winter.
This was a good series
They should have primed the steel with zinc primer.and then used peal and seal flashing before they rebricked the opening to make sure its water tight for the future
Drake Struble they got more mortar on the face of the brick than in the bed! Haha no damp tray or anything!?
We need an overview, maybe next video. And bless you, Sam.
You need to see them mount a 60" hydraulic run masonry saw to a wall to cut a doorway in a 24" wall with one pass then corner cut with masonry chain saw aslso hydraulic powered
I do need to see all of this! haha sounds incredible
Interesting choice to put the main opening door on the same side as your bar...
The doors are the best part
Good god, all I could think about during the last 5 videos is man do something with that window. Thank you, lol
You done exactly what I wanted to do to my 1880 home. Only my deck went to the pool.
Looks good, black aluminum is tough to get to look 'slightly above average'.
I want one 😍
