Well, the other possibility is that they simply don't want to admit that the ending was terrible. I felt that way when 139 first dropped. I wanted so desperately to believe the ending was good or at least serviceable because I had been following this story for years and I didn't want to face the reality of how bad the ending was. Of course, that denial didn't last very long.
Well what makes a better title hating the ending or liking the ending? At the end of the day they're just gaming the system. Even if dislikes don't show up visibly anymore I'm sure they affect the search engine optimization of your videos.
True, i had a similar experience, i think people can enjoy the ending if they don't think about it much, try to connect the dots and you'll tamper the blissful experience😢
My friend made a great point that it seems the majority of the fanbase are more fans of aot than a good story which is what you go into. People so focused on the cute epic funny wow moments they miss giant plot holes and call the ending a 10/10 episode.
It's not Anime Onlies who tend to be into reading, the fast-consume flashy and stimulating medium that is the Anime version doesn't demand as much writting comprehension as Manga or other written mediums
They never focused on AoT's story arc & What Eren's character is. They focused on things like Levi's good looks, Levi's teacup holding style, EreMika shit, Eren's all different hairstyles, Armin's new hairstyle, Armin & Historia's looks similarities, Mikasa's scarf, Mikasa's short hair, Potato girl, horse face & all unnecessary things which doesn't do anything to the story.
No 2 different Isayamas. The first one that could pretend the story had any structure and meaning, and then the second one when Isayama was cornered by his own garbage using time travel and retcons so he could finish his hypejerker
Eren's chat with Historia was the ending plan. Eliminate all enemies and rewrite history to break the cycle of hatred towards Eldians. That should have happened along with taking away titan powers. Eldia being a super power and repopulating the Earth.
The ending we deserved reading each chapter for years. But in the end Yams gives us an idiot that leaves his future descendants get nuked 🤣😭🥲 Thanks Ellen 🕊️
So eren was fighting along the will for king fritz, "eldia will be ruling even after my death" event though in ch123 he clearly states "I'll put an end to this world" implying the world created by fritz and his desire to dominate the world by titans, god you guys are so pathetic and delusional, these are such some surface level problems with ANR i don't even wanna go deep
@@meawiyaothman7872 thematically it still goes hand in hand with king fritz' ideology as eldia is the only nation remaining which is exactly what he wanted, so Titan curse had nothing to do with it
Oh girl, I love you so much, and I love the content you put out on your channel, and what surprises me is why fans of the ending or defenders of the ending curse us when we give our realistic opinion about the story in general. I respect you very much. I have been following you for two years.
People are free to have their own opinions and it's healthy to merely disgree and stay polite about it, but from my experience the people hating on the ending far outweigh those who don't in loudness for lack of a better word. It feels like a hivemind that attacks anyone who is able to enjoy something that they aren't, people make incredibly passive comments that maybe very slightly hint that they don't hate the ending and there'll be at least one person on the scene to tell them to kill themselves (I respect people who remain respectful themselves, even if we have opposing opinions but it's a damn shame that a series with so much discussion to be had has so largely boiled down to a completely toxic and rigid split in the fandom. But I guess it's poetic or whatever)
So what do you want from me now? I am speaking from my personal experience and those I know. Why are you here anyway? This video is not for you. If you liked the ending, congratulations to you. I don’t care about your opinion either. This makes no sense. You are throwing this comment at me and it does not concern me. btw English isn't my first language.
@@mxj3qsIf you don't respect his opinion then how can you expect others to respect yours? You literally contradicted yourself when you said aot defenders always curse you and you are acting as if aot has personally attacked you like the boogeyman it is. Whenever there is contradictions there is criticisms, what is so hard to accept in that? There is no wonder you come here and comment here freely since the cult this place is. What a sad life. Well you are only going to hurt yourself and people around you with that mentality what do I have to lose in that. Carry on hating and watch aot bask in glory! It makes your blood boil!
@@mxj3qsso let me get this straight? U can comment about how bad an ending is on a PUBLIC forum, but someone can’t comment back about their different opinion on a PUBLIC forum and ur gonna throw a fit? Cmon now.
Just think about it: Isayama managed to create a silent character, with ZERO dialogue and ZERO monologue but still explore her backstory, struggles, suffering, mystery around her motivation, set such amazing parallels between her, the mc, historia, freckled Ymir, zeke and frieda only through her emotions and actions, symbolism and visuals, he connected it with aot's themes and its lore. He managed to write THIS... so she, ymir fritz, got to be destroyed by 3 gd lines ("only Ymir knows...", "ymir loved the king fritz" and "she was waiting for mikasa") Just... why? WTH? FOR WHAT? Where do I begin? Well, her love for the king... Firstly, no way it's Stockholm syndrome cuz this shit works differently. You guys read about it yourselves. So, no. Secondly, WHEN did she start to develop feelings for him? Before freeing the pigs? After their marriage? After getting pregnant? When? Thirdly, WHY does she have affection for her husband? He ruined her life in every way, he abused her physically and mentally, he did the same thing to their children but she... Uh, ok, let's see (as if we could). If she loves him, why does she disobey him by freeing the pigs and not regenerating? Why doesn't she smile or isn't happy when he's around? Why does she want him dead instead of her and regrets not letting fritz die? If she regretted this whole time, doesn't it mean she already put herself and her daughters above her husband so the titan curse could end sooner? Now, ymir and mikasa... Their connection has NO buildup. It's never hinted at something common between these two throughout the entire show. The Ackerman's headaches had no allusion to the goddess. So why mikasa? What about this woman made fritz choose her? The fact she was an Ackerman? Or the person who was able to kill the love of her life? Um, couldn't ymir find someone else, like, sooner, 282 years ago for example, among millions of people, within 2000 years? Or it's because mika killed the founder when it separated from hallucigenia? Who knows, who cares... Why even show so many well-written parallels between ymir fritz, eren, historia and freckled ymir if they have no payoff? Why does Ymir find herself in mikasa but not historia whom she has much more in common with? Historia is a better version of her, so why not wait for reiss? For what reason does she pick a girl with no dignity, self-respect and ability to move on or grow up? How are her relationship with fritz and eremika bond even similar? Eren didn't treat mikasa the way fritz treated his wife. Eren saved and freed mikasa, that tyrant enslaved and and turned his woman's life into a nightmare. The mc and the king are complete OPPOSITES just like mika and ymir. What would she do if mikasa suddenly changed her mind and didn't kill eren? Wait for 2000 years for someone again? How can mikasa help her move on from the king if ackerman didn't move on from eren herself? Next, if Ymir was the one to make titans in the paths, who made her titan? Was the hallucigenia a separate organism or was it connected to fritz after giving her titan powers? If it wasn't connected to her, then why did it disappear instead of trying to find a new holder? Why was it trying to find one at first but vanished after Eren's death? So the founder's death affects it? Then the hallucigenia should have died when Ymir died. But they're not connected, are they? Or the opposite? Ugh... Why did the founder split into 9 titans? Why not 6 or 27 or 3 if she had 3 daughters? If maria, rosa and shina were able to get their mom's power at the same time, does that mean both erwin and armin could eat berthold and become shifters together? How did fritz know about the way of passing titan powers to new holders? Was Ymir dead when he fed her to their daughters? If she wasn't, then her power should have been given to a newborn eldian. If she was, then she allowed the king chip her into pieces and saw her daughters eat her? If she can rewrite her people's dna, that means she can lenthen their lifetime or make them invulnerable or immortal? Can she provide them with armor appearing out of their bodies or weapon out of the air? About the paths... I refuse to talk about how they work. I would take one more paragraph Additionally, whose side is Ymir throughout the story on? On fritz's, who planned to build Eldian empire? Or on Zeke's and Karl's who wished to end this empire's existence and wanted her descendants to die? Or on Eren's who tried to save some of them? Is she with mikasa who stopped eren from doing it? Or is she with the alliance who did everything in their power to to save the rest of humanity on the continent? Or is she on the royal family's side? WHOM does she obey? Or is it just going with the flow of events? If that's the case, then how can she wait for mikasa? But if it's still for witnessing mikasa murdering eren, then why does she listen to zeke when eren enters the paths? By this logic, she should join the mc immediately to see him get killed as soon as possible. What were those scenes with her watching everyone during the rumbling all about? Why does she join eren at first and starts the rumbling with the boy but then helps the alliance to defeat him? Why would she do that to someone who made her moved to tears for the first time after 2000 years of suffering? Who healed her by his words of kindness, who told her she's just a person, not a slave or a god, that she get to decide and choose? Why are we told in the final mikasa saved her if eren already did that? Did she need help two times? If the mc wasn't the one to free her, how could she disobey zeke? Is eren her liberator or pawn? If a liberator, why didn't she tell him what she wanted or write shit on sand, anything? If a pawn, why make a show "at your service, mr zeke" and weep after Eren's speech? Also, what exactly made titans disappear? Eren's death, his refusal to live, mikasa's choice, the fact hallucigenia separated from the mc, the fact fritz saw the kiss? What? Ymir's desire to stop? So you mean to tell me she wanted them to exist? She could refuse making them anytime? Why did she smile at the end of ch 138? Because eren got killed or because the goddess saw the kiss? To think that for more than 100000+- years (if we take into account time in the paths moves slower) she created MILLIONS of titans when shifters transformed and when eldians turned into them (dozens times a day), healed her descendants (once again, dozens times a day), changed or erased their memories, rewrote their dna, made shit from crystals, walked millions of kilometers to build titans, carried many-many pails with water and sand, climbed high to make enormous arms, heads, necks etc... for TWO THOUSAND YEARS she made her children and their children suffer, made the world endure, helped the mc start GENOCIDE, watched millions of people die and kill each other, witnessed her people eat one another and so on just because she COULDN'T MOVE ON FROM HER ABUSER! What else should I say... Either she is the stupidest human being or the most despicable and evil person ever. Either her plotline is retconned, or the author just didn't think it out properly (which is so unlikely). Maybe, just maybe, she was the true villain of the story all along, not a victim as we thought. We were just ignorant to see it or didn't want to notice. TMM, Ymir's character gained the worst conclusion in aot, even worse than eren because we didn't even get to know about her motivation, it remained a mystery because "only she knows...". Her arc was so unresolved and so underdeveloped. What was Isayama even thinking?
Most manga readers followed this story for years, reading every chapter as it released, re reading previous ones, engaging in discourse online. They would have had a better understanding of the story as it were in it's original state directly by Isayama. Anime onlys will not understand, they forget important story beats, the anime changed some of the most jarring and controversial dialogue, they are distracted with the flashy action and music that can really disguise some scenes from the poor writing, the additional chapters were woven in that make the finale appear cohesive and fuller. Those subtle changes have had a huge impact on their perception and deluded them into believing our criticism is outrageous. Manga readers arguably have a stronger attachment to this story, so it's not done out of malice this criticism is not undeserved.
After all, I saw in AOT final episode. To me It's nothing but a comedy skit 1. Not one person died or get critically injured in all a that conundrum. especially Levi fighting with one eye and couple fingers 2. How the hell did they managed to fight In all that heat without getting heat exhaustion on eren's Titan. Cause the last time I checked, a Titans temperature was around up to 600 degrees Fahrenheit. so can you imagine the heat coming off eren's founding Titan 3. How the hell did mikasa still got enough gas in her tank after all that drifting and dodging through out those hours 4. Things just keep happing on the outside world when Armin is in path talking with Zeke. last time I check when Eren got his head shot off and went to path, time literally stop on the outside 5. How did the Hallucigenia goten taken care of? 6. How did Mikasa went back to paradis with Eren's decompose head 7. Last but not least. 20,000 years of peace is nothing but a wishful thinking. Not even close to reality. Eren rumble 80% Of humanity to extinction, and you expect, Armin and Historia to convince the ppl on the outside world and some who had nothing to do with Marley BS that they want peace? GTF outta here with that none senes. Cause before that moment happen, they would have chopped off both Armin and Historas heads and send it back as a declaration of war. that's how reality is. Oh and #8 Yumir is the villain Whatever isayama is smoking, I sure don't want none of it, because this is just cartoon writing at this point nothing to do with reality type of thinking It would have take at least 200 years for the whole world to rally up against paradis to exterminate them And I'm not even gonna even mention how he make histora use a baby as a scapegoat from becoming a Titan Shifter
Honestly Eren should have let Historia inherit the beast titan for the 50 year plan in general and die passing it on if he's going to betray all the Sins of the father and getting out of the forest themes in the end
@@TheComfyCouch310 Yeah that would have been a better plan but it's kind of hard to make a sequel after that. This is black Zetsu stabbing Madara in the back so the alien can take over even though none of that made sense or was set up all over again.
Historia's character was absolutely butchered post-timeskip. What happened to her choosing to live for herself instead of just doing what other people want her to do? Why would she agree to inherit the Beast Titan knowing she would be dooming herself and her descendants to a never ending cycle of Titan inheritance (effectively doing the same thing her dad did) just to maintain the status quo? Why was she so vehemently opposed to Eren's rumbling plan at first? Seems like she would be one of the few people who would understand even if she wasn't exactly happy about the idea. Why is she still allowed to be queen when the Yeagerists control the island? She was put in power by the old regime that the Yeagerists overthrew yet they just left her in power. It was never shown or even hinted at that Eren told Floch to leave Historia alone so the Yeagerists leaving Historia in power makes little sense.
This finale confirmed to me that Isayama failed as a writer. It’s almost like Eren turned into his self insert during that bit where him and Armin are talking. “I’m an idiot with incredible powers”. That sounds like Isayama basically ripped some MCU-Esque dialogue and stripped Eren of all the nuance he had. If you as a writer have to have your character explain to us exactly what he is and what his intentions were rather than us coming to that conclusion ourselves, you’re simply a hack writer. Hackaysama!
Fact’s it surprises me how people think this ending was a masterpiece and insult people who don’t like it. It honestly insults all the writers who actually try to make good stories so I don’t wanna hear any complaining from these people about modern entertainment and bad writing
Him criticizing himself is part of the nuance. When somebody says he is a peice of shit, does it mean it's true? No. Actually it tends to show the person saying this has a lot of self-reflect capacity.
Aot has too many casual watchers who are just low iq or refuse to use any critical thinking skills........but any person who was actually paying attention to the story understands that Historia having a kid with a random farmer, eren being a s!mp for mikasa and calling himself an idiot, reiner sniffing letters , etc is objectively bad writing..........there is no way anyone can call this ending 'GREAT' without turning their brains off lol
Most of the themes (sins of the father, sacrifice something important to achieve something, being born into this world, surpassing the father, ending the cycle of hatred, keep moving forward, keeping children out of the forest, if we lose, we die) are uncompleted The lore and its rules are so unclear and not explored well The warhammer, the pregnancy, Ackerman and hizuru subplots don't have payoff. Reiner's redemption arc is not finished. Annie and pieck don't have ones at all. Zeke's conclusion is so rushed and forced Most of the characters are butchered, their motivations, actions and words make no sense, lack of character development. Erwin, gabi, niccolo and floch are the only ones who have pretty satisfying conclusions and arcs The ending's lessons are terrible: don't defend yourself and your loved ones if someone wants to kill you; no matter how hard you work and try, in the end destiny resolves everything; treat your children like garbage and dgas about their future; feelings of one single person are more important than lives of millions of people; never move on from someone you are obsessed with and so on So many plotholes and pointless dialogues. Kruger's advice was for nothing, falco seeing memories in s 4 ep 1 was for nothing, those 2 shards with floch and hange from ch 130, the dream from s 1 ep 1... what was that all about? Eren's interview and inner monologues, Isayama's interviews until 2021 were just a lie all along Lost girls is now vain as it adds nothing to the story. Aot prequel doesn't matter anymore. Just like chibi show, school caste, akatsuki no requiem, muvluv ripoff. All the deaths don't matter. All the dialogues, songs and flashbacks don't matter. Sacrifices don't freaking matter Eren is not a fighter, he's a pawn and a simp. Mikasa is not a badly-written character and mary sue, she's the main protagonist and the "solution" to genocide. Ymir is not a victim, she's a tyrant and a true aot villain. Historia is not a relevant heroine as Isayama told us. She just pretended to be a good heroine. Falco is not important as his seiyuu said, he's a plot device. Freedom to eren is not fighting for your life. It's being... dead (i guess)? Ymir, kruger and grisha actually don't care about historia, eldians and the island. They wanted to doom them this whole time And of course: - Thank you for being a mass murderer - What a man you are - No, i don't want that - Only ymir knows - I don't know why. I just wanted to, i had to - I wish I could speak to him Thank you, Isayama, for showing me how to NOT end stories. Noted To think I used to love it back in 2021...
I blame a majority of this on Isayama wanting to end it at chapter 139 for the symbolism and he was tired of it and wanted to run a spa. The rest I blame on him watching too many marvel movies.
@@mr.unknown731 breaking bad, game of thrones, muv luv, berserk, eternal champion, yurassic park, mist, paradise lost in the dark knight, gulliver's travels, probably evangelion - these creations inspired Isayama to make... this
Speaking truth to power at this point. I simply can't understand how it can be seen as anything more than even a mid ending. Or even a bad ending. Between the character inconsistencies/assassinations, plot holes, aborted arcs, and broken themes, a few dialogue changes here and there in the anime only made it ever so slightly better. But not really. There's still Mikasa being the main protagonist, Eren having... no reason for doing anything he did, Ymir needing 2000 years to find a girl who had unrequited love/an abusive relationship, the terrible plot twist of Eren killing his mom, fake Eren (especially in 131), and on and on and on. None of that is resolved with a new scene.
It's so weird seeing the overall positive reaction to this ending. I don't care that they liked it, but so many of these anime only's are calling this the "BEST STORY EVER" and the "BEST ANIME OF ALL TIME". This really opened by eyes to how people consume media. They just want to "feel" something and you can manipulate them with voice acting, pretty animation, and above all music. They really can't comprehend that manga readers who didn't like it because the story as presented on the page didn't flash all these stupid gimmicks at you to trick your brain into not concentrating on the story. I agree with you that it's been too long since the last parts, and they don't remember the entirety of the story. But I think there is a little "razzle dazzle" going on because I see so many people CRYING over this ending and they must simply be reacting to the voice acting and ost - because the story being presented is one of obsessive abusive people who murder each other. On what planet is Mikasa wearing this mass murdering baby's scarf for her whole life, not getting over him when they only ever kissed AFTER she decapitated him - sad? ITS STUPID! But the brains of these people are just not connecting what they are considering a "MASTERPIECE" is disgusting, soulless, garbage that says nothing. This ending had a child fall in love with her rapist and compared to that Mikasa's relationship with Eren - when there is NOTHING to compare, they aren't even on the same planet. But these people CRIED! LMAO BROOOOOOO!
@@teamtx1578 April 2024 even more products coming out guarantee you setting up for a sequel even more then it already has. They're going to milk this series forever.
@robertgarza9565 Well yea, ppl consume entertainment to feel… not a new phenomenon. And while Ymir sounds like she had Stockholm syndrome, (or just a really messed view on what love is as a result of her life). Mikasa was literally saved by eren when she literally lost everything, and they’ve been close ever since. Not a perfect love relationship(or anything close) but it’s the one they have and both cherish. Also, yea some people hold the show as a whole in a higher regard (possibly due to nostalgia, which is natural). So it’s not surprising ppl would be crying over its ending.
@@Mc_Assassin Stockholm syndrome isn't real, look it up, it's not recognized by any professional or academic. That talking point is pure cope and shows a lack of thinking from ending defenders when trying to discuss the "little girl falls in love with her rapist and that's realistic, actually" part of this story. Mikasa was buried next to the worst monster in history, for the AoT world. Couldn't get over him, they never even kissed when he was alive. Yeah he saved her life when they were young, but her obsession is disgusting and pathetic. She is a terrible character who never had any goals outside of Eren. Her insane obsession culminating in thanking a bird for "wrapping this scarf" around her neck plot point is so indefensible I can't believe ending defenders idealize this shit. Armin still basically forgave Eren, but I guess that's ok because they're both going to Hell? Cmon. Stupid characters holding stupid opinions, can't even hold each other accountable properly. The story is ridiculous, and characters are pathetic.

If you actually rewatch the whole entire series it’s so bad. The plot inconsistency and character assassinations is such a disappointment. Hagjme Isayama is the Todd Howard of mangakas, hope that failed internet cafe owner never makes a shitty manga ever again! As usual Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood remains as the God Emperor of GOAT anime endings.
You could see back when the timeskip happened anime onlies were never as critical of the anime, especially youtubers. I could tell they weren't going to be as criticalof the ending. Not to mention anime onlies are also more pro eremika, probably because Wit unlike Isayama did actually like to push the EM agenda, so anime onlies were clearly gonna be more receptive of it. As you said, there's also the fact that anime onlies had LOTS of times pass in between seasons to make sense of the story and see the cracks. And it also doesn't help that instead of focusing on Isayama's poor job at building up to THIS ending, most ending criticism gets reduced to wanting AOE and EreHisu. So anime onlies easily brush off criticism as deluded fans and shipping, instead of actually addressing the flaws.
I was a anime only at first until I decided to read the manga in 2020 instead of waiting for another season because of how much I liked AOT not once watching that anime did I ever ship mikasa and eren because it was so obvious eren never loved her romantically so when the final chapter 139 dropped I was so confused it felt like fan fiction
What's so bad about wanting aoe and erehisu? These factors at least would make sense unlike the last episode and eren-historia "mysterious" relationship not having payoff if one of the reasons why the final is nonsensical
Well if the whole world is ending and the main goal of aot is to find peace... why wouldnt they try side with eachother so that they can be able to i overcome the violence that they all have to face which is the rumblking.
Fact’s it surprises me how people think this ending was a masterpiece and insult people who don’t like it. It honestly insults all the writers who actually try to make good stories so I don’t wanna hear any complaining from these people about modern entertainment and bad writing.
Two notes. Deterministic story telling is dumb. And curdling Eren's convictions to make a failed Lelouche is silly. How it should have gone imo: Instead of seeing Eren's future memories at the coronation, we see it after a build up of Eren and Historia's romance. Eren's defining characteristic is his will. And the only time he truly loses his will is when Fritz is about to sacrifice him to Historia. Who then saves Eren. Under the banner of wanting to end the cycle. We also see her as someone willing to fight the survivors of the Rumbling in future wars as Paradise's ruler. These two are perfect for one another. Subtly build up their romance, let them have a secret kiss we reveal at the end of the show, and then, at the cornation, we see the same horrified Eren, now accepting the truth of the fragmented memories of his future self. But here's the kicker. The nondeterministic future Eren sees is the one we got with this ending. Nuking of Paradise and all. It is his future where he STOPPED the war after crushing Marlay and freeed the Eladins there. He initially wants save his people, his home, and spare his children from the imprisoned life he lived. He wants to live the life, the selfishly free peaceful life, in the woods with his family. Historia and his daughter. But then the world retaliates. The power of titans too great a threat. Eren, in hate, realizes the mistake he made (correct or not from a moral standpoint). He sends him memories with hateful tears in his eyes. Back to the boy under the tree. Eren goes to crush the world. Distancing himself from Historia who grows to understand by the end. When he is at the paths with Zeke, and he tries to command Ymir, Eren rips free, hugs Ymir, and tells her and Zeke the truth. "When Armin showed me his book, I used to dream about the outside world. What it would be like to be free beyond the walls. Free of the titans. But I saw that world. And just like me, the Titans were just prisoners of someone else. Just like you...Ymir. Even without walls, I am not free. Because there are people I am responsible for. (Flash of all Eren's friends and Historia). So, I'll carry this burden. Let me carry it. Let me liberate this world. Please. Ymir... My Ymir." Ymri cries and gifts the power of the Titans to Eren. She sees the future he wants to make. And finally, someone sees her. This line seems odd but hear me out. Eren crushes the world, eradicates all the titans (like he promised), and dies. But when asked by Armin why, he tells him the truth. "I know the world is full of people. People who didn't deserve to be crushed. People like Reiner. Who really had no choice. But for all of you...I'd crush the world to end that cycle. I've been that way since I was little. When those people tried to hurt Mikasa... I will never let anyone take away the freedom of those I love. Not them. Not her. I'd kill them all, Armin. And I would do it again." Armin then asks if Eren is talking about Mikasa, playing with the idea that everyone thinks Eren is in love with her. He doesn't respond. He just shows him the ocean and tells him, "Just remember your book Armin. I've tried to leave something worth exploring." Armin is confused and asks what he means and Eren tells him, "You're free. Free from this hate. Free from my hate. My burden." And then he wipes everyone's memory. All of it. The Rumbling. The Titans. All of it. Save for one person. The person who shared his convictions. We close out the series with a shoulder view of a blonde woman looking out to sea. Birds are chirping. "Do you see that?" It pans down to a little girl with blond hair, a white dress, and a white hair band. "I wanted to show you a gift someone got for you." "I don't see it..." "Look closer." The camera cuts to a bird, chirping. Carefree. Free. "A bird?" The woman giggles. "You'll see it when you are older." "Mama..." "Yes?" "Where did my name come from?" "I chose it after someone important to me. And to your papa too, in a way." "Oh!...Mama. I'm hungry." "Shall we go eat?" "Yeah! Can we have fish?" "Of course. Anything in the world for you, (we follow the hand of the blond mother down onto the head of the little girl, who looks up to her mom happy, blonde, eyes a brilliant Emera 3:413:413:413:41 ld green, " my sweet Ymir."
Asking people to explain why they like it is fun. They're incapable because nothing makes sense of course, but are too prideful to admit that they might have been wrong about it being good. Usually just ends with a "you clearly didn't understand the story" or whatever generic insult they like to spew lol. I think for most people though, the reason that they want to like the ending so badly is because the show itself is tied to their personal identity. They've come to make the show a part of who they are...which is stupid of course but people do this all the time, most commonly with politics. What happens is that any criticisms or negativity towards whatever thing they've bound to their identity is becomes a personal attack instead of just a criticism of a thing.
@newlife6265 can you say something different and actually intelligent besides the overused moronic excuse that "you didn't understand the story"? Can't you come up with something else? Any ideas you have? Instead of insulting people who have different opinion than you, how about show some reasoning? The fact that normies/casuals/ending defenders are trying to gaslight themselves and us into thinking we wanted a happy ending via Eren completing the rumbling is astonishing…. We wanted an ending that stayed true to the themes and years of character development. Eren completing the Rumbling, killing the alliance, and trying to pick up the pieces of his life with Historia would’ve been so tragic while staying thematically consistent.
It's so funny to hear this form eds (like everything else lol): 1) the ending we got is pretty happy (music, visuals, characters live norman life even though a new war is to come) 2) we, ending haters, wanted more tragic conclusion Eren suffering for the rest of his life from his deeds and bad things which happened to him pre-timeskip is a much better final for his character than dying fast, painlessly, refusing to take responsibility for his actions and passing everything to armin
Exactly and they know it too but most of them are in denial .........I know it for a fact because before the final chapters in anime got released I asked everyone I knew who was an anime only about who they think is the father of Historias child and guess what........they all said eren.
As somebody who read the final chapter when it came out I genuinely thought that the anime ending was supposed to be a joke because I just couldn't believe that they actually adapted like 90% of the manga ending. Just to make it clear: I'm not shitting on the animators or the VA's and I don't hate the rest of the series, I'm mad about the fact that the ending in particular had so much potential to be so much better than it is, even if you kept the same panels etc, just changing up the dialogue between Aaron Yoghurt and Armin could've made it way better than the whiny and blatantly cheap Shonen style ending we got. What gets me the most is that everyone seems to be hyping up the ending as a "masterpiece" or "the perfect/absolutely flawless ending" when it just falls incredibly short and completely rendered pre established themes and plot points meaningless. Everything up until the final episode/chapters has been incredible but for some reason just we ended up with a lackluster ending that doesn't even wrap things up neatly, yet apparently this is the "perfect" ending?
You hate how it ends So you wipe it out What will be the result? There is never a perfect ending For everyone That's why it's perfect This is attack on Titan

Anime onlies will never understand us. They question our hate for the ending when they can't even come up with logical assumptions. They have no idea what we've been through in the last 2,5 years to reach this point
@@youdontneedtoknow7548 Not to seem rude but how? I enjoyed the ending but saw flaws, doesn't necessarily mean I lack comprehension, from what I've seen across the fandom, many can't explain the flaws in convincing ways and lazily say "bad writing" without backing their point. Not to sound like an ass but even an anime only like myself can make counterarguments to claims some make. Respect your opinion tho if you didn't like the ending, it sure is divisive.
@@LimpyBrainYou cant "like the ending". You simply cannot. By liking the ending, you are telling everyone you didnt understand the story. The only acceptable ending was Eren winning, 100% Rumbling, the alliance dies. Thats it.
Most ppl won’t realize how bad the ending is until they re-watch. If you only watch anime, especially from release to release starting from like 10 years ago, yeah you’re not remembering shit.
Preach Brown's, preach! However really I've seen too many anime onlys reactions aware that the manga readers said the ending was bad and said it was just mid. Seems like they're really clinging to those few changed lines in the last episode.
I can’t help but obviously feel like armin from school caste timeline when he said he was not satisfied with the ending of the movie. So manu questions left unanswered. Isayam planned all this to give us something else
Hahaha the anime only folk are finally going through the motions. Thank god I got over this ending. Reading this shit was amazing but damn that ending… just felt like he passed the pencil to someone else - the last 3 chapters.
It improve on somethings but the new added context to the manga (e.g. "is is because I am a idiot") is so bad to the point that its worst then the manga itself.
The anime ending make it seems there will be no act of revenge from the world for the rumbling. I hate this so much, the anime deliberately change the buildings to cyberpunk-like to make it seems like into far the future
When eren kissed historia's hands, he understood what was coming, he was NEVER free. " they forget what eren says" **literally forgets mikasa saving eren out of a near death experience** The things eren have said before kissing historia's hands which revealed the actual truth to him, is irreleavnt since he fount out the actual truth, anything he says after that is to lie to his allies 😭 what is so hard to fuckin understand❓️ it's such a linear timeline, you CANNOT possibly overlook this... he talked to the kid because he realized he was going to die fo a cause, jesus fucking christ, literacy has died The story was still about kill or be kill, he killed many to make his friends live a long life, and THAT'S what happened, he made it so his friends "save the world" HE HAD TO KILL FOR HIS FRIEND'S FREEDOM
Was he also lying when he was rambling in his inner voice about killing "all of them" while thinking about the death of his mother while attacking Marley?
This story's ending tears itself apart in utter confusion. I've forgotten what I even liked about it. Seems the fandom have forgotten the plot already. The normie half rotten zombie brain has an attention span of a goldfish. Apparently it is exam results time today. Yippee! It's so important to get good results when the entire story is dissolving away and signs of collapse are everywhere. Must maintain the facade of normality till the end. Thankfully it's over.
Facts I was literally in a watch party rewatching AOT on twitch and having the ending in mind while watching this anime really shines so much light on how the ending ruins the characters and story and just makes everything confusing
@@giovonniiclayton it’s confusing for you cause you didn’t pay attention lol it’s not Naruto where you can’t just watch the fights and know what’s going on
The ending should have been 100% extinction. It was always about all are victims in the series. Now its like problems still continue and the cycle of hatred just keeps on existing as long as humans or any species exist.
I have a question: when was “real” Eren shown to be whiny? I was so confused by Isayama describing whiny teary Eren as real Eren, because I never would have described him that way. I remember Eren as generally being very focused and intense, exhaustingly so.
Ironically, this used to be a pretty common opinion of Eren's character. If you Google "whiny Eren" you get tons of people claiming this to be the case and complaining about his character.
@giovonniiclayton Still, it's how he was _generally_ perceived in the beginning. I'd never used the word "whiny" (Isayama is the first I've hear use this term) but his personality didn't fit the maturity of the series in which he was the main character. When this series was first released, Eren was constantly singled out as an annoying main character. In comparison to most everyone around him, experiencing the same problems or worse, his reactions seemed childishly inappropriate. In this series, that could be seen as whining.
@@yuukichan12 I do think Isayama attempted to rewrite Eren to make him cooler for the audience. I don't know if he came out with the change in the story first (from fighting Titans to political) or rewriting Eren but one fed the other, I think. I think the idea of him pretending to be this stoic, cold badass was an interesting move but his breakdown wasn't handled well.
The ending was bad. But the writing was on the wall long before the ending. Pretty much the series got much worse once Marley was introduced. I saw cracks as early as retaking of the walls. I don't know how anyone can find the story progression acceptable let alone good.
@@Lo-tf6qt I disagree. This is mainly because the writing became nonsensical. There is no way heroic anime willpower plot armor Armin should have beaten Bert. Then there is other contrived garbage that allows the "good" guys to win because they have to. Up to that point, the cast of kids were written believably. But then it became clear the entire main cast has absurd plot armor and the series has no real balls to do anything interesting with them. They wrote the story as if Eren has no choices but to do what he does. But the story is written so poorly and without nuance that it's kind of pathetic. Isayama clearly has no idea how humans operate and that's why you see so many people say that Eren had no choice.
@@Obbie40 Bruh I can't believe it took me so much reading on reddit and youtube to finally find someone that watched/read the same story as I did lmao. snk is the biggest marketing stunt since Big Tobacco
@@Obbie40 Yep. Saying "he didn't have a choice" is stupid. It's like saying that Guts from Berserk has a valid reason to kill anyone he sees. Guts had it extremely rough but part of his journey is growing from trauma. Eres is a negative character arc, which means he was descending into darkness. That's fine. He is not a hero and he isn't doing the right thing. He's being selfish and lashing out against the world. The problem is people saying he did the right thing when that is clearly not the case.
I was so disappointed in Charlie's video where he just accepts that Eren's always been an idiot kid with a temper... It reminds me of the 2nd knives out movie, where there were so many plot holes, but it was solved in the end because "the bad guy was just an idiot". Cop out storytelling, that's what it is.
is people using the excuse of "the theme of the show is that eren wasnt free at all and was under control by ymir. the man who sought freedom wasnt free" a valid excuse???
When chapter dropped I was really confused. It looked like code Geass ending was taken as inspiration but it didn't hit like that.🤔. It felt disconnected with rest of seasons.
I think you're the one that didn't understand the story. I didn't forget anything. The ending ties perfectly well. Eren gave multiple reasons for doing the Rumbling - yes, so? Humans aren't black or white, they are shades of grey. A person can do something without being 100% sure of it. What was 100% sure though is that if he didn't do anything -> Paradis would have been wiped out. The anger and talks by Eren? His anger was real, but his talks with his friends / other Eldians was specifically to push them away, to make it possible that they want to kill him. What are you not understanding about the good ending exactly?
Good for you that you LIKE it. I’m not sure if you’re able to read the screenshots while listening to the video but Eren already gave his motivation and his actions go against that. Eren said he would not leave paradis’s future up to fate, he would bury hatred etc etc giving good reasons for ppl NOT to stop him. If he wanted ppl to stop him wouldn’t he just pretend to be crazy? Wouldn’t he just say his true motivation?? “I’m rumbling because I’m psychotic and want to see barren land.” Then no one would hesitate to stop him. You see Jean was on the fence because Eren’s motivation pre-ending was founded in logic…. Ymir loving fritz is also bad and poor writing. The character who gets raped and tortured really never gets any DIALOGUE. Mikasa being the main character the whole time is also poorly written.
They don't. The gaslighting was meant to be in universe on his friends and the Paradisians but most of the ones who hate the ending were also convinced of this switch and lead to a completely different interpretation of the character and his development from then on.
@@cherrrycola3902u just dont understand the show lmao. U buffoon. The reason erens inner thoughts reflect his s4(before ending) persona is because.. he is deadpool. He knew that he was in a manga so his thoughts were like that for the reader. Obviously
When frieda refused to protect paradis after the invasion, was eren pretending to be pissed back then too? Why do you think the mc in the last ep tells you the truth but lies in HIS INNER MONOLOGUES in special 1? What kind of logic is this?
I agree, with u. Im just tired of this bs. Let it end bruh. As a manga reader who read the manga orelse i would have been spoiled. Im just tierd. Let it end. The ending was ok. Not good, not great, just ok. Like u said the redacted lines were necessary, eren was a killer. And did everything for peace for his own ppl nothing else. It was ok. Now the fandom is filled with what if's. *sigh just let it end guys
ending was lackluster, still one of the best anime series though during it's run. Started as generic revenge shonen and went a direction nobody could have ever imagined.
"and went a direction nobody could have ever imagined." Me watching the first season 9 years ago: wtf is this garbage I bet the story will be nothing more than mikasa loves eren.
Btw! Our local celebrity somehow mentioned your video in his page. Hes an anime only and ending liker, however he said that you really have a good solid points. Perhaps many ed will think twice after seeing your videos or something similar.
I am SO happy you say that genocide is not the only way for world peace. It’s absurd to condone such a philosohy, especially in one of the most popular stories ever written. There will always be war, but there will always be resistance to worldwide genocide. People stood up to Hitler for a reason. I can’t honestly believe Isayama believed this was a philosophically sound concept to make AOT’s fundamental theme.
My favorite niche moment of this last part was Annie throwing historia using her ODM gear. She learned that move from when she span those scouts around like sacks of meat in Season 1😋 love a good throwback.
Oh thanks for warning me I dont remember anything from the multiple times I've rewatched the show Apparentely I only liked AoT's ending because I have Alzheimer's
As I said it anime only casual watcher enjoy the ending cause it's an good ending ( for a casual watcher) but for the rest of us who read the manga watched the anime multiple times and pay attention to the subtle details you notice the ending is dogshit , putting aside this whole ending thing, let's agree that ai higuchi itterasshai is an absolute masterpiece , is so beautiful her voice is just so warm so angelic
I'm sorry, but I'll never find it hilarious how I now view Isayama as a writer who accidentally made over a hundred great chapters, and then at the end couldn't bs his way through it anymore.
Funny thing is, the main defence I see is "you didn't understand the story" Which is not even a defense, and funnily enough I never heard it when it comes to defend a decent ending😂
Except there literally are manga readers who think the anime ending improved the ending. You completely ignore these people, which shatters your entire argument. Was Eren in a cornered position? Yes. He also did not try any other options than the rumbling. I am pretty sure literally everyone remembered about the position Paradis was in before Eren launched his attack. Hell he himself literally mentions it in the final episode. However he states that that was not the fundemental reason. If you don't like his motivations of wanting the world to be more like he initially envisioned it, that is perfectly fine and understandable. But to claim that everyone who disagrees with you simply did not read the story attentively, or simply forgot about it, is hella condescending.
The only manga readers who think the ending is good are people who lack basic critical thinking like you guys pretty animation and music can’t save trash the story turned out the same but worse
Unfortunately, talking to solve a war is not the answer in the real world. Go do a deep dive into the israel /palestine war. That is the biggest example of that, in fact, that is most likely a core inspiration for aot world. Thats a war thats been going on for so long that both sides have been right at some point, making neither side right. At this point, the hatred between the two sides is so strong that any attempts at peace have been met with resistances from both sides, those proposing peace are labeled as traitors by their own people and murdered. Does that remind you of something? It has been made clear that neither side will fold and both sides believe that the complete anihalation of the opposite side is the only way to win. That is aot. Isayama is not fascist, you just havent witnessed what true hatred looks like.
The show goes to great lengths to portray human nature and their own mentalities especially towards war. People would prefer an ending where the world gets crushed to an ending in which Eren loses but the world still gets ruined. The story has never been that one dimensional and it still isn’t. You give a kid knowledge of an entire timeline and except him to function normally. Sure at times he’s a good tactician, but people change, it’s basic logic yet you still have people on this hate train wanting them to change a good ending into something else who start spewing stuff accusing people who liked the ending to be forgetting or that they’re not right. Truly a shame some people can’t appreciate a good ending to a great series.
Even if what you say makes some sense, both the anime and manga didn't show enough of that. The four year timeskip between the events of s3 and Final Season basically copped out from the opportunity to expand on that gradual transition for Eren. Mere flashbacks can only suffice so much. Eren had the chance to change the past with his time manipulation stuff as he mentioned, but decided against it just because the excuse is that it'll be the same result even then? Time manipulation and travel has always been a very difficult concept to handle and easy to fuck up, and the latter unfortunately applies so here when it probably shouldn't have been there to begin with, unless you wanna use that one OVA episode that foreshadowed Eren's death to Mikasa as a form of defense, which still won't matter, anyways. Even if he wasn't quite capable with the knowledge of an entire timeline, he clearly could at least try to insure some things back then went differently, cause it might end up being better than just making sure nothing changed.
@@Ryuseishun of course the timeskip wasn’t great for expanding the psyche of characters, but that’s a criticism of the timeskip and not the ending. Eren said that he tested it (it being his powers) and still the way he went about things ended up being the only way. It’s clear he messed up at points (which is crucial for a character, unless you want a perfect character with no flaws or developments) which resulted in him being locked down the path he was forced to follow. Paths and connections are shown to be very important at the end, and by the fact that he met with mikasa and armin repeatedly, it’s clear he tried to work his way out the situation as he literally talks through his predicament with armin and sees there’s no way out.
@@GlancingChimp2 sure, but the default to say he couldn't change anything because he decided to let everything happen as it is in the end....that ain't selling it enough. It would also help if we got scenes of him physically trying through these alternate timelines as valid proof that he couldn't do anything somehow even with all that power he had. We didn't, unfortunately.
@@Ryuseishun sure we didn’t, but it’s directly referenced. He clearly tried to act against this timeline and he directly says that he couldn’t change it. It’s not the default to say, it’s more the actual plot of the anime. Which would be the default to say I guess because it’s what happens?
Just because the writer doesn’t give you a solution on a silver plater doesn’t mean there’s no solution. The thing is, the solution isn’t simple… to accept the binary of kill or be killed is to accept Eren’s and historia’s world view. In the end both of them failed… Uri was the closest character to a possible solution at least in practice. It’s really difficult to see what’s possible when you’re trapped in the forest.
It’s not objectively good or bad it’s just a huge mess, everyone needs to get there stuff together and stop being so one sided and salty about not getting the ending they wanted, yes there is a lot of flaws but great things came out of it as well
It’s not about “getting what I wanted”‘it’s about keeping a character consistent or showing the proper development of a character has “gone mad” or something
@@BROWNSMAGIC if your talking about eren then yeah I believe the ending stays true to his character, at his core he as always fundamentally been the same kind of person ever since he was born, if you think the scene of him crying and acting childish to armin betrays his character up to this point then you would be wrong, it makes even more sense for him to act that way since that was the last time he was going to be talking to his best friend and the only time he gets to openly express his selfish childish feelings before he wipes there memories, believe me eren is my favorite character in all of anime and after just rewatching the series I believe it stayed true to his character throughout, also even eren knows that his actions are not going to make the fighting go away forever because that’s not how life works and showing the warfare continue years later fits perfectly with aots narrative and themes

@@RisingRaidenagreed. This ending isn't perfect. Few anime can have a satisfying ending any cap off every side character plotline while leaving little mystery left behind (FMAB being one of those that succeeded), but that doesn't make it a bad ending. Ive seen people, both now and when the manga ended, comparing Eren to Lelouch, while failing to understand Eren. MyMediaChops (sorry if I butchered your username) made a recent video discussing the difference, and it reaffirmed my stance that Eren's character was true through the story, even with this 'supposed' heel turn in the last chapters.
Honestly I would like to thank you for making this video. I thought I was going insane being the only one who wasn't satisfied with the ending ( I reread the manga twice, watched the anime 5 times) watched constant essays online trying to understand the context of people who appreciate the ending. I ended up understanding where they came from, but still found the ending overall unsatisfying. No Im not salty because my ship didnt come true, I couldnt care leess about ships I don't want a happy rainbows ending, GOT's ending was "happy" and it was shit The ending felt like Eren wasn't properly executed given the context of the world. Imo Yams shoyuld have taken a break before starting the final arc of the series to proeprly map out what he wanted to do and how he wanted to executed it
Eren was the one chatact that never changed. He always moved forward and he eradicated all of the titans, forever. He's just a range filled stupid little boy that's lost himself in the power he's aquired. Which he admits in the anime. The boy did start acting differently once he kissed historias hand but that's when everything started to merge into one, and as he got older the merging got more intense. Leading him to become quite sadistic in his approach to destroy all the titans. The only dumb bit was when Reiner "transferred his consciousness" to his body when they found him in the wall. I think the ending is a perfect cherry on this crazy Sunday. I don't think your opinions here carry much weight at all since they have no depth.
Eren literally changed his goal of killing the titans, does the s3 p2 patriot scene mean nothing to you? Ever since then he has literally not been interested in wiping out the titans forever.
I think that you have to consider that Eren is just a 19 years old guy. The fact that he believes in doing rumbling doesn’t mean he is not affected mentally by it. Eren has two sides, his ideas and his emotions, which often can be fragile and sensitive. Eren is in fact a young guy which realized to being one of the most powerful beings in the world, I think that it’s really nice to see that Eren has a weak side, that he’s also “just a young boy” with infinite power. This without a doubt can affect your mental health, and you can have moments where it is too much to handle. Just like a comment I found that said: “He was able to explain the root cause of Rumbling, which is to save the entire Eldian race. It's a genuine act. But that doesn't mean his desires are incorruptible. Just as he said to Armin, he became a slave to freedom just as he was on his own mind.”
I kind of reached my limit with you saying that in real life, 'talking is the answer', because no, it isn't. I can just tell from your accent that you're from the New World and this opinion shows it. For example, my country the Netherlands. Its earliest foundation was a Republic, and do you know how it came to be? Spain had taken over the region and we fought 80 years for our independence. We had several talks and a truce, but it never worked as Spain refused to give the Dutch ethnic group our land until Spain was caught up in too many wars and was financially drained to the point it couldn't afford to keep up the war. Then they agreed to declare us an independent republic. The answer to our freedom was money. WWII wasn't solved by talking, but by people fighting back enough that Hitler knew he was going to lose so he killed himself. I can continue. Sure, treaties and truces are done through verbal communication but they don't get made if the war is more beneficial to the people fighting then peace is. Either one or both parties need to sink deep enough before the talks happen, and that is exactly what AOT shows: To the rest of the world the genocide of Paradis was more beneficial then peace so they opted genocide. Which is why the only one willing to talk with Paradis is Hizuru, because they would benefit more from peace with Paradis then a genocide because then Marley and other countries get a hold of the resources they want.
Lol you people like to overreacting. Eren and armin talk is called reflecting. Doesn't mean he didn't mean what he sayed before. And he was always emotional. That was always his true self. Eren was always a cry baby. Every season he breaks down and say's something who contradicts what he sayed before. Season 1: I want to kill every titan. Dies in episode 5. 2 or 3 mental breakdowns in one season. Season 2, emotional again with Berthold and reiner even ymir makes fun about him. Season 3. Historia kill me I don't wanna live anymore blabla. Forgat everything he sayed 2 seasons before. Then comes season 4 and now he's badass? You people really believed that? I always felt something off. People are multidimensional. They have many sides. The freedom side is real. I really think he didn't lie about why he wants his freedom. And I really think he wanted to do the rumbling for his freedom. But in the last chapter with armin, he was reflecting one last time with his best friend, where he can be a last time his real self, and had a mental breakdown like every season and was feeling guilty. That's why he was saying this things. The problem is, people thinks you can't do both. You can believe in wanting to wipe out your enemies for freedom and moving forward, and also believing you're an idiot for doing that. You can feel guilty, but still have no doubts about killing people if you feel it's necessary. But you guys don't get basic human emotions. And isayama made one mistake. He forgat that people see many things black or white. Other stuff with ymir and Mikasa being the one ymir was waiting for, I get it, not the best thing I heard. yes the ending is not a 10/10. But people crying about Eren is such a joke. Look at the last interview of isayama about the ending for more information.
I think you are too focused on what Eren had said and forgot how Eren's enemy the Marley view of the people in Paradis Island. In fact they didn't see those in Paradis as people, but as demon. And in chapter 100, Marley made the declaration of war, completely one-sidedly, without even considering option to go to Paradis Island for peace talk, all while brainwashing the whole world (not just Marleyans) that Paradis Island is the land of demon that they can't reason with.
I agree 500% with this video. Here goes my breakdown of some wrongs things and bad plot of AOT and my dissatisfaction as a manga reader. I disagree that AOT was good until the last chapter, and only the last chapter ruined everything like most maga readers say, AOT started to lost himself and go downhill after Erwin death and the reveal of the basement, and then you have a 3 years time skip that skipped possible development's for characters and the original cast of characters became useless and without purpose, three examples is historia useless, mikasa without a purpose or goal, and armin that became dumb after he ate berthold and likes annie just because he ate berthold. After the time skip the only characters that do something and have a plan is zeke with the euthanasia plan and eren that became a one man army, eren became a cold strategist like Erwin, smart like armin pre time skip, and badass like levi and mikasa, everyone else become stupid and useless. And then eren and Zeke go to the paths and then meet ymir, its heavily implied that ymir wanted eren and choose him to go to her and free her from being a slave to the paths, eren himself said that, and you have the plot twist of grisha seing eren all along, and eren goal would be using the colossal titans to fight marley and everyone one outside of the island, because eren goal was freedom for the eldians in the island and his friends. this was the story until chapter 122 and 123. evething else after is a shit show and makes no sense, armin and mikasa created the alliance forces with marley to stop eren from saving the eldians from certain death from the people outside the walls, it makes no damm sense. And eren taking the role of villain just to sacrifice himself because suddenly now ymir plot point is that she loved the king for some reason, but in paths when eren saw her past she was a slave to that king and was very sad all the time and choose death by the spear to escape from the king, but in last chapters ymir sudenly loves the king fritz and the one ymir choose was not eren to free her like showed in paths when eren hug ymir and she cried, mikasa is the one chosen to kill eren and for some reason free ymir, the story gives a 360 and the story at this point betrayed everything that it was about, before chapter 123 and 122 (the paths with eren and Zeke meeting ymir). and eren talk with armin in the manga after he died in the paths saying he doesn't know why he started the rumbling and accidentally send dina titan to kill his own mom by accident, WTF? if he can time travel using the paths controlling eldian people, why didn't eren controlled Reiner berthold and annie and stopped them from destroying the walls?, makes no sense this time travel path bullshit. and then you have falco bird titan bullshit aswell none of the 9 titan became birds, zeke spinal fluid making someone became bird titan makes no sense it came out of nowhere. Eren killing 80% of everything outside of the island just to back down in the last minute and let 20% alive, that definitely will take revenge in the future over all the killing by eren and the island, and then eren removing all titan powers from eldians that are the only advantage against everyone outside the island, makes no sense is very stupid. isayma copied code geass ending but in a dumb way. Erwin died for nothing , zeke actually had some good plan in comparison to eren that back down in last second, and floch was a hero. And eren is a cry baby piece of sh4t that was pretending to be a cold badass after the time skip, but in the end he saying to armin he doesn't want mikasa to ever forget him, f1ck off, never was confirmed that eren loved mikasa in that way and in the end he is crying like a baby over it. Just disappointing. AOT Should have ended in chapter 122 and 123. Eren uses the coordinate the walls falls colossal titans awaken, roll credits, the end. a open ending just like that.
Lemme give you the mostly agreed upon reasons: 1. Eren suddenly flip flops out of character in the last chapter -Him suddenly confessing his “love” for Mikasa reverts his personality back to how he used to be when he was a little kid (impulsive, emotional; he’s grown since then) -He suddenly has no concrete idea why he wanted to do the the rumbling in the first place 2. Mikasa x Eren pandering in the last chapter (or episode) comes out of nowhere and gets increased 1000%. It was always apparent that their “romantic” relationship was one-sided (Mikasa might as well be obsessed with Eren, not in love with him). Eren’s never reciprocated the feelings Mikasa has towards him at any point in the manga. So when he started doing that in the last chapter, it left many people genuinely confused and calling it an out of character moment for Eren. 3. Important characters get sidelined in the end. I’m specifically talking about Historia (but Yelena apparently also disappears in the end too). Throughout season 3 (and its corresponding chapters in the manga) Historia was perfectly (imo) built up to be a major player in the story and a secondary protagonist. But all of her relevance and pregnancy sub-plot effectively means nothing in the end. What was the point of propping up this character if they weren’t going to be important to the ending? Me and many others believe she was retconned. 4. Mikasa apparently becomes the main character… She was the one Ymir was waiting for all this time to free her, not Eren. She was Ymir’s parallel, not Historia. It just doesn’t make sense thematically and it comes out of nowhere. 5. Ymir was actually in love with King Fritz -the same guy who abused and used her, destroyed her village, killed her family, and cut out her tongue -and that was the reason why she continued building titans 2,000 years after her death. Many readers found this reason wrong and stupid (rightfully so). 6. ALOT of people hated Armin’s iconic line in the manga: “Thank you, Eren, for being a mass murderer for our sake.” People thought this was extremely out of character for Armin to say, given that Armin was apart of the alliance (he shouldn’t be grateful for this). He’s also the type of character that wants to talk things out first before doing anything else, so the fact that he was just ok in the end with Eren shouldering this burden was off putting for a lot of people.
@@overlyserious9493 Yeah, no prob! Personally, I think Eren should have went full throttle on the rumbling and killed everybody (morbid, I know). All the alliance members would have died trying to stop him. After Eren kills everybody outside the walls, he kills Zeke to stop the rumbling. Eren doesn’t become a bird (lol), and instead goes back to Paradis to be reunited with Historia and their child, who is Ymir reincarnated (no, I don’t necessarily ship Eren and Historia). Eren and Historia rule as king and queen (or Eren would be a highly respected member of the court with high status).

Yup. I mean, this is just to be expected of the fanbases of shows, movies, and anime that get really big and popular. It’s gonna attract a lot of “normies” (or casuals) that are only watching that media in the first place because they want be entertained and nothing else for the most part (but I’m sure that there are some casuals that end up becoming more deeply invested in the media that they’re consuming). These casuals far outweigh the number of fans who are actually invested in the media that both are consuming. I’m not saying this to be mean or anything, we’ve all done this before -turned off our brains while watching a TV show, movie, whatever. For me it was GOT. Just like you said Browns, I remember all of the more epic moments that happened in that show, but nothing else really (basically none of the important stuff), because I watched it as a casual. So, I’m sure that’s what most Anime-onlies who were saying that the ending was a 10/10 masterpiece were: normies that just “consumed” AOT. I personally don’t agree with both takes saying that the ending was either objectively bad or good. To me, it was meh. It ended on a subpar note and felt kinda off. It’s not all the way bad but definitely not all the way good to be considered a masterpiece to the point that you have some people crying over it lol.
Besides some new added dialogue, the dialogue and the [new added ]context is 100% accurate from the manga. Its not good; the source material's ending is just that bad.
@@AlexStarOfStarWars The only thing Yams changed was he removed the horrible line of Armin thanking Eren for becoming a mass murder for his friends and the new line of Eren saying he is an idiot who gained godly powers and let it consume him or something like that. Other than that the anime ending is identical to the manga in nearly everyway
@@TheComfyCouch310 that line by Armin is the least of the problems of the ending. There's bigger more problems to the ending; such as contradicting past character developments, storylines, themes, etc.
I think the reason is clear that modern anime is amplified by voice acting, osts, directions, animations etc and it is not such a genius idea to call those enjoying the show as an individual who just "forgot" it implies they are not individuals but sheeps who blindly follow everything that they are shown which is not the case since it is the majority of the anime onlies who are liking this. I have seen not a single anime only disliking it, it is just us the manga readers who found it weird which once again proves that manga readers are weird. This is not the first time manga readers readers are lroven to be weird and pathethic.
I think it is clear to me that you are still riding the hate bandwagon to capitalize on the name of attack on titan seeing you made so many videos of it saying the same things and hating on it. Its not too hard for a person with a common sense to understand that. Also, I would like you to check out the chibi reviews video on it he made valid criticisms which were minimal compared to the manga. He was wrong on one of the criticisms as well which you can see in the comments multiple people have corrected him on it. If multiple people are correcting you, that means you are wrong I don't get what is so hard to understand in that. So my question to you is this: was your problem with the concept of ending or was it to criticise the same ending as if to fix the issues? Because the issues have been fixed so it only the leaves the first option which is mindboogling at this point
@@maboigilgamesh3231the only way for your argument to be valid is if manga readers couldn’t explain logic reasons why the ending is bad when literally theirs to many videos on this platform breaking down why this shit sucks
@giovonniiclayton so saying that alot of people collectively forgot a huge chunk of story is logical? I can say the same thing about manga chapters. They also release after months. Does that mean people forget it? I didn't when reading aot manga, nobody did
Eren also said he wants his friends to live long happy lives. And he won't take freedom away from his friends. And Eren's friends clearly didn't want that. So what, Eren is gonna kill his friends tryna stop him? If his friends are dead, who's gonna have that freedom? And not everyone was an enemy trying to kill them. Eren knew that fact Some things Eren said was to motivate people to paint him as the target.
Right but why then would he bring his people, specifically Mikasa Levi Reiner Annie etc into paths and give them the best reason in the world NOT to stop him. “I’m doing the rumbling to protect the people of Paradis. I won’t leave paradis’s future up to fate. The world wishes to kill us all, I reject this wish.” Like that’s a pretty solid case. If he truly wanted to be chased and stopped wouldn’t he just pretend that he’s crazy and blood thirsty ?
@BROWNSMAGIC What need would he have to announce this to the millions of Eldians outside of the walls either? If he was just announcing his true motivations, he could've kept that strictly to Paradis but he broadcast this message to Every subject of Ymir so that they could spread the word for what?
@@annett_55555After Eldia originally ran out of enemies to subjugate, they turned on each other and started slaughtering their own in civil war. There's a precedence for this. As someone who watched the AoT anime 4 times, including 1 time in preparation for this episode, I liked the ending. I think the issues most people have is that they can't accept that Eren in essence is a fundamentally flawed person. Through the future inheritance power of the Attack Titan Eren was forced down a path where he couldn't morally defend the eventual consequences of his actions. Many of the things Eren says seem contradictory, but that is because Erens drive to eradicate humanity outside of the world as a child comes in conflict with his developments as a character throughout the series. In essence, he is a child and adult at the same time, forced into a time loop he couldn't escape. If you are going to accuse me of misremembering part of the series, you should also remember the parts were Eren compares himself to Reiner where he admits what he did was inexcusable, but he had to do it anyway, a 'half assed piece of shit'. Or the time where he breaks out in tears in front of Ramzi, because he was forced to kill people that had nothing to do with the attack on Paradis.
His flaws are what make his one of the most compelling character studies in any medium, yet people can't accept the depth of how flawed he was. Isayama was brave for this one and I'm glad (and damn proud but nobody cares lol) that a wide majority can appreciate what he did here.
@@yuukichan12we loved eren for his flaws. His reactions and behavior were reasonable up until he started contradicting himself. Characters having contradictions is ok as long as they are explained and don't come out of nowhere. Eren in the last episode and eren in the previous episode are complete opposites. He changed his goals, he refused his ideals, he forgot about his motivation in a snap. He somehow managed to lie in his inner monologues (which is literally impossible), make shows in ch 100, 130, 131, 122, 121 etc. His words, actions, thoughts, ideology, philosophy got depreciated by the final. That's why we didn't like his conclusion Ch 100, eren: I'll keep moving forward until all of my enemies are destroyed Ch, 139, eren: I'll keep moving forward until i say "I don't know why I did it"/my friends stop me so they can be heroes/i wipe out 80 % of humanity/Mikasa's choice Ch 131, eren: I'm doing the rumbling to save the island Ch 139, eren: idk why I did it Ch 122: eren frees ymir Ch 139: mikasa frees ymir Ch 89, 107, Eren: I can't sacrifice historia Ch 139, eren: forgets about historia, leaves her to deal with the consequences of the rumbling alone The Female titan arc, eren: I relied on my comrades. For those of you who think this video is horseshit but don't have time to reply. I'm here for you guys. I was going to be nice at first, but your arrogance has made me not hold back, lol. I'm okay with people who don't like the ending because they wanted a different outcome or a happy ending, as that is a matter of taste. However, it is idiotic to say that the ending makes no sense and to assume that people who like the ending are just forgetting the details of the story. Many people who watched the anime rewatched it before watching the ending. Is it only manga readers who can read the entire story from beginning to end? First of all, the author did not forget Eren's motivation. Rather, he reflected the true nature of people into the character. People are inconsistent. People's thoughts and beliefs are constantly evolving. Eren is no exception. In the beginning, he was just a one-dimensional character who wanted to eliminate all Titans from the world. But after touching Historia's hand, the truth was revealed to Eren. He learned that the people within the walls were not accepted by the rest of the world. At the same time, he also learned about his future experiences of interacting with people on the other side of the sea. He realized that everyone was just a normal person trying to live a happy life, but they had been brainwashed to hate Eldians. He also found that there was no way to stop the cycle of hatred. With the war already underway, the only thing a foolish person like him could think of was 1. to do whatever it took to keep his friends safe and 2. to prevent Eldians from being wiped out. What he chose to do was rumbling and making his friends heroes. The previous statements that seemed contradictory were because Eren had to say them to make things turn out this way. We can see that after Eren touched Historia's hand, he could no longer be himself. The fact that you keep comparing Eren's words in the earlier episodes with what he said to Armin in the ending without considering the context means that you simply remember those words, but you don't understand the meaning of them in the context of the story.
You said that the real world would solve this issue through peaceful dialogue. The Scout Regiment tried that when they went to the mainland. They listened in on a discussion by a group advocating for the rights of Eldians in internment camps, but they found that even though this group sympathized with Eldians on the mainland, they also saw the people in the walls as demons. This is the scene where Eren saw the futility of dialogue and left the Scout team. "Or did you forget?"
You seem to misunderstand a lot of things as well. Eren didnt choose to stop at 80% of humanity wiped out. The Alliance stops Eren when he reaches 80%. That's all he says. Why do you say Isayama wrote the story so that peace is hardly an option? Because it's his story and that's how you write stories in which you wanna convey a message! Furthermore, it's just realistical! How tf could we have an ending that's all peacful, that's NEVER been seen in reality. AoT is realistical so of course, just like our world, peace isn't really expected to last forever. Doesn't imply we should not refuse violence, like Sasha's father, Nicolo and Armin prove in the story.
I thought it was passable, idk. Didn't feel strongly one way or the other. It's sad seeing manga readers get so angry and whiney about this, it's also sad to see other people blindly call this the best ending ever and refusing to understanding why some don't like it. In conclusion, fan communities fucking suck lol.
I think i understand why the hardcore fans got so angry with the ending, for many aot is the gateway to the manga and anime culture and also for many they also followed aot religiously for the past decade, some people grow up watching or reading it and get excited when new chapters or season came up. It might be soul crushig for them to watch the characters, the world, and the story gets thrown away and assasinated for the sake of the "happy ending".
If you actively are engaged in a story for all these years investing time and or money only for the last arc and ending to ruin the story you would hate it the only reason why there’s a controversy over this is because most people either lack basic critical thinking to see why this sucked or they just didn’t pay attention to the story and we’re passively watching and turning their brain off taking everything at face value.
@@giovonniiclayton I didn't think this ending was great either, it was underwhelming to me. But people getting THIS upset and angry? That's sad, especially when they let it ruin EVERYTHING else about the story that they liked. Pretty childish, yikes.

Well, the other possibility is that they simply don't want to admit that the ending was terrible. I felt that way when 139 first dropped. He managed to write THIS... so she, ymir fritz, got to be destroyed by 3 gd lines ("only Ymir knows...", "ymir loved the king fritz" and "she was waiting for mikasa")
Just... why? WTH?
I would take one more paragraph
Additionally, whose side is Ymir throughout the story on?

I'm anime only. I not only understand, i'm pissed at such a U turn in writing.
There are a lot of manga readers that defended the manga when the ending is even more badly made
After all, I saw in AOT final episode. To me It's nothing but a comedy skit
1. Not one person died or get critically injured in all a that conundrum. especially Levi

2. How the hell did they managed to fight In all that heat without getting heat exhaustion on eren's Titan. Cause the last time I checked, a Titans temperature was around up to 600 degrees Fahrenheit. so can you imagine the heat coming off eren's founding Titan
3. How the hell did mikasa still got enough gas in her tank after all that drifting and dodging through out those hours
4. Things just keep happing on the outside world when Armin is in path talking with Zeke. last time I check when Eren got his head shot off and went to path, time literally stop on the outside
5. How did the Hallucigenia goten

6. How did Mikasa went back to
paradis with Eren's decompose

7. Last but not least. 20,000 years

reality. Eren rumble
80% Of humanity to extinction,
and you expect, Armin and Historia to
convince the ppl on the outside world

Cause before that moment happen, they would have chopped off both Armin and Historas heads and send it back as a declaration of war. that's how reality is.

Whatever isayama is smoking, I sure don't want none of it, because this is just cartoon writing at this point nothing to do with reality type of thinking
It would have take at least 200 years for the whole world to rally up against paradis to exterminate them

@@youdontneedtoknow7548 exactly

Hackaysama!
I mean he did watch too much Marvel.
Fact’s it surprises me how people think this ending was a masterpiece and insult people who don’t like it. It honestly insults all the writers who actually try to make good stories so I don’t wanna hear any complaining from these people about modern entertainment and bad writing
"mAsTeRpiEzE" 🤭
Him criticizing himself is part of the nuance. When somebody says he is a peice of shit, does it mean it's true? No. Actually it tends to show the person saying this has a lot of self-reflect capacity.
What nuance
Aot has too many casual watchers who are just low iq or refuse to use any critical thinking skills........but any person who was actually paying attention to the story understands that Historia having a kid with a random farmer, eren being a s!mp for mikasa and calling himself an idiot, reiner sniffing letters , etc is objectively bad writing..........there is no way anyone can call this ending 'GREAT' without turning their brains off lol
Most of the themes (sins of the father, sacrifice something important to achieve something, being born into this world, surpassing the father, ending the cycle of hatred, keep moving forward, keeping children out of the forest, if we lose, we die) are uncompleted
The lore and its rules are so unclear and not explored well
The warhammer, the pregnancy, Ackerman and hizuru subplots don't have payoff. Reiner's redemption arc is not finished. Annie and pieck don't have ones at all. Zeke's conclusion is so rushed and forced
Most of the characters are butchered, their motivations, actions and words make no sense, lack of character development. Erwin, gabi, niccolo and floch are the only ones who have pretty satisfying conclusions and arcs
The ending's lessons are terrible: don't defend yourself and your loved ones if someone wants to kill you; no matter how hard you work and try, in the end destiny resolves everything; treat your children like garbage and dgas about their future; feelings of one single person are more important than lives of millions of people; never move on from someone you are obsessed with and so on
So many plotholes and pointless dialogues. Kruger's advice was for nothing, falco seeing memories in s 4 ep 1 was for nothing, those 2 shards with floch and hange from ch 130, the dream from s 1 ep 1... what was that all about?
Eren's interview and inner monologues, Isayama's interviews until 2021 were just a lie all along
Lost girls is now vain as it adds nothing to the story. Aot prequel doesn't matter anymore. Just like chibi show, school caste, akatsuki no requiem, muvluv ripoff. All the deaths don't matter. All the dialogues, songs and flashbacks don't matter. Sacrifices don't freaking matter
Eren is not a fighter, he's a pawn and a simp. They wanted to doom them this whole time
And of course:
- Thank you for being a mass murderer
- What a man you are
- No, i don't want that
- Only ymir knows
- I don't know why. I just wanted to, i had to
- I wish I could speak to him
Thank you, Isayama, for showing me how to NOT end stories. Noted
To think I used to love it back in 2021...
I blame a majority of this on Isayama wanting to end it at chapter 139 for the symbolism and he was tired of it and wanted to run a spa. The rest I blame on him watching too many marvel movies.

Mikasa was buried next to the worst monster in history, for the AoT world. Couldn't get over him, they never even kissed when he was alive. Yeah he saved her life when they were young, but her obsession is disgusting and pathetic. She is a terrible character who never had any goals outside of Eren.

Two notes. Deterministic story telling is dumb. And curdling Eren's convictions to make a failed Lelouche is silly. How it should have gone imo:
Instead of seeing Eren's future memories at the coronation, we see it after a build up of Eren and Historia's romance.
My burden."
And then he wipes everyone's memory. All of it. The Rumbling. The Titans. All of it. Save for one person. The person who shared his convictions.
We close out the series with a shoulder view of a blonde woman looking out to sea. Birds are chirping. "Do you see that?"
It pans down to a little girl with blond hair, a white dress, and a white hair band.
"I wanted to show you a gift someone got for you."
"I don't see it..."
"Look closer."
The camera cuts to a bird, chirping. Carefree. Free.
"A bird?"
The woman giggles. "You'll see it when you are older."
"Mama..."
"Yes?"
"Where did my name come from?"
"I chose it after someone important to me. And to your papa too, in a way."
"Oh!...Mama. I'm hungry."
"Shall we go eat?"
"Yeah! Can we have fish?"

Aot sucks if you actually understand the story.
Mikasa being the main character the whole time is also poorly written.
you,re right .
they dont understand because they can not remember the details .
Frrr
Funny you guys said this ngl
Do people not realize that Eren's behavior in Marley was a literal facade?
They don't. The gaslighting was meant to be in universe on his friends and the Paradisians but most of the ones who hate the ending were also convinced of this switch and lead to a completely different interpretation of the character and his development from then on.
Yes him saying in his own mind he will not accept all Paradisians dying was also a facade 👍
@angelsarereal4902 no? Eren truly couldn't accept an end like that. Which is why he legitimately wanted to erase 100%.
Wait, what? When was that?
It has always been kill or be killed.. and Eren just forget that in the last chapter 😭
Isayama had a point blank gun to his head by a Twitter shipper, i 100% believe that's what happened to Bro
Oh thanks for warning me I dont remember anything from the multiple times I've rewatched the show
Apparentely I only liked AoT's ending because I have Alzheimer's
Yes you have😂
As I said it anime only casual watcher enjoy the ending cause it's an good ending ( for a casual watcher) but for the rest of us who read the manga watched the anime multiple times and pay attention to the subtle details you notice the ending is dogshit , putting aside this whole ending thing, let's agree that ai higuchi itterasshai is an absolute masterpiece , is so beautiful her voice is just so warm so angelic
Yep I swear the difference between liking the ending and not liking the ending is having reading comprehension.

A masterpiece ruined by the ending 😭
I'm sorry, but I'll never find it hilarious how I now view Isayama as a writer who accidentally made over a hundred great chapters, and then at the end couldn't bs his way through it anymore.
Funny thing is, the main defence I see is "you didn't understand the story"
Which is not even a defense, and funnily enough I never heard it when it comes to defend a decent ending😂
@@giovonniiclayton are you going to adress any of the actual points I made instead of insulting me?
Which would be the default to say I guess because it’s what happens?
you cooked with this
Just because the writer doesn’t give you a solution on a silver plater doesn’t mean there’s no solution. The thing is, the solution isn’t simple… to accept the binary of kill or be killed is to accept Eren’s and historia’s world view. In the end both of them failed… Uri was the closest character to a possible solution at least in practice. It’s really difficult to see what’s possible when you’re trapped in the forest.
so it's better to be a Victim because that same dude was pro self-genocide

No Im not salty because my ship didnt come true, I couldnt care leess about ships
I don't want a happy rainbows ending, GOT's ending was "happy" and it was shit
The ending felt like Eren wasn't properly executed given the context of the world.
Just like a comment I found that said:
“He was able to explain the root cause of Rumbling, which is to save the entire Eldian race.
Which is why the only one willing to talk with Paradis is Hizuru, because they would benefit more from peace with Paradis then a genocide because then Marley and other countries get a hold of the resources they want.
lmao titanfolkers assemble
Eren died a virgin and accomplished nothing! Lmao Isayama ruined his own story so he can make a shitty sequel to milk more money like Boruto! 🤣🤣😂
Eren uses the coordinate the walls falls colossal titans awaken, roll credits, the end. a open ending just like that.
a masterpiece butched in 20 episodes
Can someone explain to me why they think the ending is bad? Is erens character not consistent and thats why its bad? Genuine question im confused.
Lemme give you the mostly agreed upon reasons:
1. Eren suddenly flip flops out of character in the last chapter
-Him suddenly confessing his
“love” for Mikasa reverts his
personality back to how he
used to be when he was a little
kid (impulsive, emotional; he’s
grown since then)
-He suddenly has no concrete
idea why he wanted to do the
the rumbling in the first place
@@poppinmms8980 Thank you for the detailed reply, how would have you liked for the anime to end?

Eren knew that fact
Some things Eren said was to motivate people to paint him as the target.
Who's gonna have freedom? Paradis, from the outside world. That's what eren was doing the rumbling for (until ch 135)
A Paradisian civil war is a very real and likely possibility and, post Eren's 100% Rumbling, there is no humanity outside of Paradis. The planet would be in an unimaginably precarious place.
@@yuukichan12 1) Eren never cared about civil wars. Name a chapter where he says or shows he's against destroying the whole world just because paradisisans might fight each other
2) civil war on the island is already about to happen between historia and the yeagerists
3) all eren wanted was to save his people from the outside world even if they (obviously) were going to fight each other soon
4) if he was afraid of civil wars than why did he even start the rumbling?
5) 500 years+ passed before paradis got attacked by the outside world so there definitely were more than 2 internal conflicts which makes his plan even more stupid
The planet is already screwed up, even from damaging 4/5 of it. Destroying 20 % more wouldn't affect anything and anyone
I did not like the ending, but this video gave me reason to like the ending. What a confusing video!
Yeah zooming out can have that affect. It’s a good cope tbh
Well he did say that he had no other options and he tried everything, if u remove the im dumb line it would be better ig

You'll like this attack on Titan alternate reality much better, and it'll make you feel better
Also read AOT no Requiem, it makes the canon ending look like fan fiction.
Isayama is a total failure, I will never read anything from that failed internet cafe owner never again.

That is the purpose of motion visualizing and voice actors as well as direction
Lmao
i wish i could like twice and im 3mins in lmao
Should watch it again, just more carefully
@@annett_55555 Okay then, snob.
That's why we didn't like his conclusion
Ch 100, eren: I'll keep moving forward until all of my enemies are destroyed
Ch, 139, eren: I'll keep moving forward until i say "I don't know why I did it"/my friends stop me so they can be heroes/i wipe out 80 % of humanity/Mikasa's choice
Ch 131, eren: I'm doing the rumbling to save the island
Ch 139, eren: idk why I did it
Ch 122: eren frees ymir
Ch 139: mikasa frees ymir
Ch 89, 107, Eren: I can't sacrifice historia
Ch 139, eren: forgets about historia, leaves her to deal with the consequences of the rumbling alone
The Female titan arc, eren: I relied on my comrades. That's why they died. I should have made everything on my own
Ch 139, eren: my comrades, you take care of the rest, imma out of this world
Eren until ch 135: has a clear plan of protecting paradis from the world by genociding the rest of humanity because it's the only way to save his people
Eren in ch 139: wants to make his friends heroes, achieve temporary peace, free Ymir, end titans, rumble 80 % of the earth, see the sight simultaneously, doesn't know why he wanna do it but wants to and has to, because he's free and an idiot with great power
Ch 99, eren: reiner, why was my mom eaten by a titan?
Ch 131, eren: what would mother think about the rumbling?
Ch 139, eren: I killed her lol
Special 1, eren: everything happened by my will
Special 2, eren: future is predetermined

It's perfect
goated video
You just simplified everything. You dont even understand anything in anime.
Doesn't imply we should not refuse violence, like Sasha's father, Nicolo and Armin prove in the story.
lol u mad

I enjoyed every episode. The ending was good. I loved it
Can you explain why the ending was objectively good
@@giovonniiclayton first of the animation was so good literally top tier, second the emotions the ending gave me, I never felt it before watching any other anime, third it was because eren sacraficed himself so his friends lived a long life which is W main character behavior, fourth this was the most logical ending cus in this world war will never ever stop cus of the racism etc just like shown in aot last scene the war kept going, fifth the osts and or background music was so beautiful and some gave me the vibe as if shit really went down as in a lot of action, and lastly this ending is very original and not like any other anime and people aren't used to this kind of endings which is why they call it "bad" while in reality the ending was so fucking good but they're crying cus it didn't go their way as if the world is all about them. That's about it. 👍🏻
