What a duo. When will this ever happen it’s 2 forces of nature colliding to make one awesome incredible performance David Gilmore on guitar and Seal on vocals …crazy
When I first found this I watched it at least twice a day for 3 weeks. I watch so many music vids repetitively that I went back to some of my favorites for a week or so but I watch this at least once a week. It is by far my top favorite. Pink Floyd is my favorite group, Jimmy Hendrix is my favorite guitarist and Hey Joe is in my top 3 favorite songs. David Gilmour's razor sharp guitar and Seals bad ass persona and great voice make me glad I'm alive to enjoy it. Certain songs take me places I can't explain but will never question. This is one of those songs.
Gilmour and Seal just wow! I don't think I've heard any other singer do this worth listening too until I saw this. Jimi holds it in surpreme, but Seal and Gilmour nailed it to the roof.
I just stumbled on this cover that had just flew way down and past my radar. So glad to find it. Such a beautiful rendition by a legendary singer and a guitar fu****gk GOD.
Now i was NOT expecting this powerful performance when i clicked on this cover. Seal´s vocals raised the hairs on the back of my neck. He´s quiet and real. There´s no drama, it´s the kind of conversation you can believe is actually happening and the violent culture that brought it about just an accepted way of life. But the tension builds and at the end Seal is screaming, Hey Joe, NO NO NO NO! It´s SO sad..geez..blown away!
JR BCH JR BCH, man, where´d i say anything about his face? His performance is what counts here. But now that you mention it, his craggy face with that hot body and that heartfelt performance is incredibly sexy.
One of my favorite versions of this song. I've adored Seal since "Crazy"... Plus he's such a classy beautiful man. Hmm. And David,...well, he's the cherry 🍒 on top. Been listening to him since I was a pre-teen. Thankyou to my big brother. ❣️
Lots of great performances of this song all through RUclips. I keep finding more. This one's one of the best. Great vocal feeling. Gilmour's guitar soars but soundman missed it on the volume.
Let's not forget how good Gilmour is at rythm guitar, apart from lead. He has given many examples of this along the years. He has been chosen as session musician and producer many times. He was the Musical Director to this event, according to the credits. He clearly asks on stage the other lead guitarrist if he's ok, after having been slightly carried away during his conribution to the solo. Great Gilmour, he is the "polished diamond", in the words of paul McCartney.
If I was blind folded and heard this and didn’t know the song I’d know two things, it’s David Gilmour and it’s a Hendrix song. Both have such unique sound and style. Amazing how you can pick that up through guitar not even a voice. Both are legends. So cool to hear one legend play another legends song. Awesome👍
Believe it or not, but Hey Joe is not a Jimi Hendrix song. Just like All along the Watchtower, Hey Joe is actually a cover. The original is by the Leaves.
So, Jimi played other peoples' music, in this case a Billy Roberts song, in such a transcendant way that EVERYone thinks of them as his. Bob Dylan used to give Jimi stuff that he hadn't recorded to ask him to see if he could do something with them, like "Please Come Crawl Out Your Window". When Jimi finally released "All Along The Watchtower", Dylan says that when he first heard it, he thought - "That's how it's supposed to sound!" You see, Jimi had inverted the chords, for one thing. Dylan went into the studio at his first opportunity and recorded his own "new" version and has played it that way ever since. It is always a special thrill, for me anyways, to see a great guitarist tear into a solo of a Hendrix song. Because they feel the same way about Jimi as you or I do. Blessings
All from those that can't match or even come close to the talents that've been displayed for decades.................apples and oranges......................love'm both. This ain't Jimmy but I still enjoy and appreciate.................Thank God for'm all.
This piece is so relevant and truly the best version ever, thanx to JIMI for letting the spirit of this tune become an iconic blues number...and to SEAL and DAVID, WOWZA KABLAMO! Maybe a reunion concert, or collaboration for us in the know.
Lets remember each of them in their own right. Jimmy was so good that he chocked Clapton at a concert he played with them. And Clapton is very good and such a great and humble songwriter. David though is the poet with a lyrical guitar like no one else. Each of them have inspired generations of players inclusive each other
Dave Gilmore is just on a totally different level 🙏🏼 Love Seal too and his voice is incredible, but Dave is mind-blowing at putting emotion through a guitar 🙏🏼❤️
It took Seal and David-Fucking-Gilmour to do what Jimi could do alone. And that's fine. because Jimi is JIMI, simply from a different world. But this gave me chills down the spine, so fuck-it: thank you. Two fucking great artists.
Ed Russell David Gilmour uses to play progressive rock and Eric Clapton is first of all a blues player since the Yarbirds, the Bluesbreakers (John Mayall), Cream... To me both are great guitar players who followed different ways and from time to time enjoyed to do something else. Why always compare ?
Seal plays a right-handed guitar left handed, without changing the strings around, only seen a couple people ever do this. low e string is toward the ground
JIMMY NEVER GET OLD , PAST OVER 40 YEARS AND PEOPLE STILL PLAYS HIS MUSIC AND THEY SING AND PLAY WITH PASSION..... JIMMY YOU ARE AND ALWAYS WILL BE THE MAN. COOL VERSION
I love this. This is a great performance on both their ends, with Seal's extraordinary vocals and with Gilmour's almost unbeatable guitar skills. Two great artists playing another amazing artist's song. It's really amazing to see. I love Hendrix, and I know a ton of other people do, but try to keep an open mind when listening. It is someone else's song and it's good to remember that, but don't let the comparison ruin the experience for you
***** Seriously...Never compare Gilmour to someone like Slash,it sounds absolutely moronic.Slash is a great guitarist but that's it.Gilmour can change your life with a single note.
TheRiboka Gilmour may be a great player, but he's not guitar jesus in spite of what you may think and I ADORE his work. However, his fingers don't spew musical nirvana and suggesting that he's too good to be compared to the likes of slash sounds moronic. You sound like a Grateful Dead fan all spun out professing the gospel of Jerry Garcia with that "change your life with a single note" shit.
The extreme scarring on Seal's face and scalp are the result of a skin condition known as discoid lupus erythematosus (DLE). Seal has revealed that he suffered from the condition as a teenager. Go fuck yourself.
I wasnt sure what to expect, but i like Seal's new style alot. I think he looks hot as hell and sounds great. Of course David is amazing with his slow strumming.
this is just so badass, Gilmore and Seal add so much depth, beauty, it's amazing.
Gilmour
Seal adds a lot of emotion to this song! I listen it over and over.
Same here. Seal is on another whole level of vocal power!
Indeed!!
I'm sure Jimmy H would absolutely love this.,like we all do.
😮yes
C'est sûr
Indeed!! Seal did the original justice. ❤
Hendrix spirit lives on every great guitar player in the world . Will never die .
You can tell by the look on David’s face he is absolutely loving it. :) awesome cover. A legend covering another legend ❤️
What a duo. When will this ever happen it’s 2 forces of nature colliding to make one awesome incredible performance David Gilmore on guitar and Seal on vocals …crazy
One of thebest versions l've heard.
the synth and the arpeggiated chord behind the first couple of verses never fails to give me that signature shiver of pure musical magic

A collaboration that you'd never expect to happen, but you're glad it did. So crisp and smooth, like a ginger ale mixed with a nicely aged whiskey.
one of the best versions of this song,,,well done guys
+
Awesome version... my favorite
Gilmour and Seal just wow! I don't think I've heard any other singer do this worth listening too until I saw this. Jimi holds it in surpreme, but Seal and Gilmour nailed it to the roof.
Yes they did
Look up a guy called kingfish

Seal has great voice i love his voice!!!
If Jimi isn't your favorite guitar player, he's your favorite guitar player's favorite guitar player.

@@jrbch8356 Hedi Klum doesn't think so.
unexpected duo teaming up to perform an unexpected cover and they absolutely killed it. what an amazing rendition.
Pino Palladino's playing on the fretless is great on this track.
The amount of sensuality I feel in this performance is astronomically beautiful.. I still feel my cheeks turning red
Thank's I needed that !! 👍😀
Of course Seal's voice is heavenly, but David Gilmour's guitar is heavenlier
Seal is a super vocalist. David Gilmour is a guitarists that eclipses all others in my opinion.
Tremendous version of this superb song.
Seal is sublime in this cover. His voice lends a somber quality to the lyrics that elevate the song.
one of the best versions of the Hendrix song ... unbelievable soulful voice and guitar!
As a die hard Jimi fan, this runs a close second. Beautiful ❤
Easily one of the Best versions of this masterpiece of a song . Seal's vocals along with Gilmour 's expert guitar work, need we say more? THANK YOU..
One of my favorite versions of this song. I've adored Seal since "Crazy"...
Plus he's such a classy beautiful man. Hmm.
And David,...well, he's the cherry 🍒 on top. Been listening to him since I was a pre-teen.

Es una gran interpretación de este canción como tributo a Jimi, sentí curiosidad por ver este video de Gilmour tocando Hey Joe, un maestro.
Seal's version is one of the best I've heard. Great voice, very sexy, wonderful!
Great version of this song for sure!!
Great version of this song for sure!!
So very true! I got to see Jimi live, & years later Pink Floyd. This jam is so good, it is awe inspiring.
Hey Joe is such a great song and covered by so many people! I am very fortunate to find so many great covers here on YT.
Lots of great performances of this song all through RUclips. I keep finding more.

È la prima volta che sento questa versione ms devo dire che David Gilmour è fenomenale bravissimo ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊😊
Freaking awesome hairstyle Seal has going on there. Love it and the song!
The dreads look awesome on seal. And David's chops too.
Seal has to be the king of cool and DG is a god 👍what a performance 👍
What an unlikely mix of talent that gelled into something awesome.
Bassist & Drummer connected on a molecular level. Rock solid.
I was mesmerized when I heard this song for the first time some 5 years ago. One of the best nights of my life :)

Believe it or not, but Hey Joe is not a Jimi Hendrix song. Just like All along the Watchtower, Hey Joe is actually a cover. The original is by the Leaves.
Listen to roy buchanans version, he was gilmour and hendrix in one
Billy Roberts.

Seal "killed" this classic Hendrix cut! And David Gilmore nailed the guitar riffs!! A Damn good cover period!!!
On the contrary, I thought he was rather good.
Two great artists, Killer performance and groove. Guitar Heaven.
David plays Jimi, I've been dreaming about this for years!
excellently preformed version. drives me crazy. david, drummer, trumpeters & seal, great blend of talents.Eli.
David Gilmour master of weeping guitar sound.
Dont forget George Fuckin Harrison
Ivan Falcao Georges guitar did gently weep first!
Ivan Falcao That was Claptouts guitar on that Harrison song.
+Vern Roberts That was Eric Clapton on While My Guitar Gently Weeps.
Yeah I know that, I wasn't referring to the Beatles song. Just that David Gilmour has mastered the art of making his guitar weep.
This sounds so good! Has a lot of depth in this rendition!
Pino Palladino on the bass 🔥🔥
Magical rendition of an iconic Track! Seal has The most underrated male voice of The 90s..DG is DG..enough said..❤🎶
Amazing cover version, great guitar solo, interesting w horns arrangement, big soulful vocal, maximum gradation of song ... great musicians
This piece is so relevant and truly the best version ever, thanx to JIMI for letting the spirit of this tune become an iconic blues number...and to SEAL and DAVID, WOWZA KABLAMO! Maybe a reunion concert, or collaboration for us in the know.
Dave the best of Guitar!!.
Giuseppe Piccirillo
Don Tinsley is one of the best guitar players of all time . . He plays for Black Flood Diesel.
Roy Buchanan is one of the best 2
Damn this gives me chills!!!!
oh my yes ,just listen to this cover -man it rocks
Beautiful vocals.Outstanding cover.
Pino on the bass...amazing!
Yeah I was hearing these fretless swells and I said to myself, "that sounds like Pino" ... sure enough. He's a giant (on his instrument).
Such a unique treat.
Hendrix & Gilmour R My 2 Favorite Guitarists Period!!!!!!!
Seal is nothing less than a god in this video.
Fanatastic performances by all and SEAL is drop dead f-ing gorgeous What an adonis zxxxx
I of the best covers I've ever heard

David can play anything.. I know you shouldn't really compare them, but I hold him higher than Clapton any day of the week.
Clapton is put in front of the mirror and pretend to be Gilmour ......
azynkron It's a stupid kid's comparison ! One plays progessive rock and the other one plays blues...
Jean-Paul Bleus Which is which, pray tell?
Ed Russell David Gilmour uses to play progressive rock and Eric Clapton is first of all a blues player since the Yarbirds, the Bluesbreakers (John Mayall), Cream... To me both are great guitar players who followed different ways and from time to time enjoyed to do something else. Why always compare ?
Jean-Paul Bleus Clearly you didn't watch the clip..
What a great combination! Magnificent guitar and equally magnificent voice!
Love the Black guy playing some of the solo's Left Handed
Seal plays a right-handed guitar left handed, without changing the strings around, only seen a couple people ever do this. low e string is toward the ground
Gus Isidore
Gus Isidore, he was part of Phil Lynotts Soul Band too. A great guitarist.
@@rogerjonson8142 its actually quite common. A number of lefty guitarists and bassists do that.
Combination of Gilmour playing guitar and Seal singing just gives me chills every time I listen to it...
I love me some "Hey Joe"! Hendrix is still the gold standard, but this is some good stuff!!!
Excellent. Superb. This may be my favourite version.
Sir David Gilmour :)
I had to click on this just to hear. I have to say I am impressed and pleased.
Seal has so much feeling! :D
This is the Blues that I like !! Clapton stands before the mirror and pretended to be Gilmour...
What a shame that Seal and David Gilmour didn't get to work together in some guitar driven project. It would have been the bomb.
Both of them nailed it up 👌 , Seal's performance is incredible
Fantastic performance by all.
JIMMY NEVER GET OLD , PAST OVER 40 YEARS AND PEOPLE STILL PLAYS HIS MUSIC AND THEY SING AND PLAY WITH PASSION..... JIMMY YOU ARE AND ALWAYS WILL BE THE MAN. COOL VERSION

Seal and Gilmour, for one thing, and then they do Hendrix?!?! Heaven is a place on Earth. Amazing!
DAVID GUILMOUR!THE BEST GUITAR MAN

Seal looked great with the dreads
something to help cover that horrid face
If u got nowt nice to say...

The extreme scarring on Seal's face and scalp are the result of a skin condition known as discoid lupus erythematosus (DLE). Seal has revealed that he suffered from the condition as a teenager.
Go fuck yourself.
Dr Dank I think he's quite handsome, especially in this.
And you're much much uglier than anyone, really....
Most on time and best version I've heard
Did this band just KICK YER ASSES?!... or is it just me?
I wasnt sure what to expect, but i like Seal's new style alot. I think he looks hot as hell and sounds great. Of course David is amazing with his slow strumming.
