Ive started to favour the ecofit pure lately. Wasn’t keen on them at first but when your doing a swap with and old boiler like a profile the rear flue is a game changer.
I can't believe customer wanted all those parts changed, surely it would have been cheaper and more cost effective to install a new boiler that comes with warranty just for peace of mind. I have a rule if im sweating 4 hours into the job I'm having a rough day.
I was surprised too! I gave them both options, but they wanted to go with the rebuild, which I'm not going to lie, I quite enjoyed even though it had me sweating! Love a good challenge!
An air gap on that condense would of been a help. But that pipework was very.......😮. Great content by the way 👍🏻 P.s. what's the make/model of your magnetic light? 👍🏻
@7:52 I also tend to change the middle seal too, as they tend to wear the same. (sure they come 2 in a bag). @13:24 JEEZ - who fitted that boiler.. omg. how many issues with it visually. but looks a bit cheap inside tho (in my opinion). the flex condensate pipe external looks a poor design. (but we can and do pick fault with all boilers). @22:10 I agree with the manufacturers refusal not to do the job, as they have to comply with H and S 100%, plus can be classed as not installed to MI's (service clearances). @26:35 just shows how a long job can lead to an even longer job. good spot on that one to. thumbs up from me. keep up the good work and content. always nice to watch.
Cheers Daz, I only had 1 of the seals on my but I changed the middle one as well when I went back recently to fit the condense pump. Glad you enjoyed the video mate 👍🏽
Technically yes, but it's always good practice to put in an external bypass of some sort such as a radiator or long loop of 22mm. Just allows the boiler to get rid of the latent heat better
soak in wd 40? you know its oil based(duh) and will corrode rubber over time right. not sure what you mean. i will use wd on seals im replacing. anything other is a big no right.:P i bet when you put that back on the jig you will have disturbed something inside, it doesnt mater how careful you are. been there done it. i bet i know what leaks. in the next 2 weeks. then your chasing the job, it's taking time out of your day to go repair. 4.16 love your work and ethos, your young and good. :) if there is space to left or right of the boiler to slip the expantion vessel out there is another way. not MI
Hope you had a good time with the family at Pepa Pig, my kids used to love it when they were younger You get some really nice jobs, But fare play you really know your stuff with the repairs end of it, Do you prefer repairs over installs, You did a serious overhaul on that worcester most lads would run a mile, The restaurant one boiler there was nothing good about that install at all and the installer probably got paid top Dollar, Nice valiant job to finish 😂, I cut my wrist on a vokera mynute a few years ago ended up in hospital with stitches, Does that wrist band you wear prevent you from getting cuts, just wondering if that why you where it, Brilliant video today 👍👍🤜
Cheers Tony! I love repairs, I'll take them over installs any day 🙌🏽 I guess it comes from my problem solving background as Maths was my favourite subject through school and I went on to do a degree in Financial Maths too. Oh that wristband is just a magnetic one to hold screws so I don't lose them 😂 but that sounds mad that you ended up in hospital over a boiler! Thanks for watching mate 👍🏽
It’s good job you didn’t end up in banking 😂, I can see you like and have great time in gas Boiler repairs nothing beats you, Most lads now days say they repair gas Boilers charge a callout don’t even take the cover off and tell the customer you need a new Boiler, Brilliant content Looking forward to the next episode 👍👍🤜
You should have reported that boiler installation m8t obviously diy job as you say what’s the point engineers having to sit accs every five years it’s a joke ..👍

Yeah to be fair the rear flue option would probably be the only time I'd consider it as an option
That was a good job.it pays to be vigilant. Good job you spotted the problem on the flue.❤
👍🏾
You’re very good at your job! Much respect
Thank you mate 😊

Was there much cost difference between rebuild and new boiler?
Every pipe work is like an art, please respect it its maybe a future Banksy

Great content by the way 👍🏻
P.s. what's the make/model of your magnetic light? 👍🏻
Thanks, it's the unilite SLR 1000
@@cputilitysolutions p.s stop pulling out all these nifty tools, it's costing me a fortune! 😄
Probably grease blocking the drains and backing up into the boiler, will likely be causing the bad readings
Nice one 👍🏽
Would be good too see some training videos from you for system fault finding
I've done some live fault finding videos in my earlier videos 👍🏽
Top work again mate, that boiler install was a a joke.
Cheers mate

@@cputilitysolutions no worries, always nice to watch, and so informative for new operatives to the industry. :)
How much total cost for the repair eca boiler plz and how much would be for replacement
I haven't been asked to give a price for the repairs, just my recommendations on what needs to be done
Clearly bob been busy on that one
😂
What’s wrong with that? It’s a sculpture and a boiler. Twofers there.
😂
Hello mate good video ….could the boiler not technically just run on its internal bypass ?
Technically yes, but it's always good practice to put in an external bypass of some sort such as a radiator or long loop of 22mm. Just allows the boiler to get rid of the latent heat better
you cant run prv pipe in condense pipe its not capable of taking high temperatures
👍🏽
Another great vid.
Thank you 👊🏾
I am a great be leaver in repairing boilers than ,just replacing them, because you keep the customers for years
💯
How long did it take you to remove and refit that worcester
A good couple of hours, but the flue was a bit long to do
Easier than a gloworm hydroblock
How did that pass everyone knows that you can’t use plastic till after a metre are those installers members of Corgi.
It was a builder so not even gas safe! 🤷🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
Why did u take it OFF the wall
25.45 You'd never have done that with a Neataheat !
😂
Nice video pal!
Cheers mate!
If all engineers worked to your standard all customers would have not a good but a GREAT job done.🤙🏿🤙🏿🤙🏿
Thank you mate 👍🏽
Madness 🙀 change the boiler
Trust me
This is what happens when you get your mate to u
Install a boiler 🤣🤣🤣

@@tonymurff5234 oh I know the type mate, I've been to many second opinions and repaired them for a fraction of the cost of a new install!

Trouble is gas safe won't do a thing about it... Not until a customer reports it
@@cputilitysolutions yes I understand what you mean m8t but your the last engineer there..cover yourself at all time m8t.good video 👍
Yeah I issued a warning notice and documented everything, plus this video can also be proof as well 😉 thanks for watching mate!
