    What a nightmare! Good effort. Usually get airlock like that on open vented systems.. you would think all them auto air vents would have sorted the issue... get home and forget about it. Tomorrow is another day.. keep up the good work!

  • @davidround7258
    @davidround7258 Год назад +2

    Sounds like a airlock bro as the pipework rises to the the right of the boiler and runs straight, on the horizontal run after the filter cut some air vents in

    Glow worm & vailant heat exchangers are so sensitive to debris in tbe system that they block up & cause small pockets of air and then as you found out it causes the boiler to lock out. What has worked before is a dishwasher tablet popped in the filter & voila the heat exchanger clean as a whistle.
    When i used to do installs i would always fit below the boiler 2 lever valves capoed off so i could isolate the boiler & then just connect to the heating circuit. Saves any major issues with the boiler.
    Also not knowing what the pump duty is on the power flush unit can sometimes be too much for the boiler itself causing other issues. Especially the pressure sensor can cause the boiler to stop start intermittently.
    Airvents on the return can under the influence of the pump suck air in !! So i would always shut the system down then vent the system.
    All of those vertical rads are a nightmare for trapping air , so when the pump cones on it keeps shifting it up to the boiler, which then becomes a rinse & repeat!!
    Fair play to you for 1 driving all that way to do that job 2 hump that machine up into the loft.
    As others have said that was really a 2 man job.
    I appreciate its an existing customer but for a job like that inc your travel i hope the price you gave them reflected all you did. Great work though 👏

    It was always going that way.
    Boiler and cylinder at the highest point, not to mention the pipework!
    I would have anticipated up to 4 hours to achieve full circulation, or more!
    Looking at the magnets, the major issue was down to a poor instal.
    So dangerous having flushing kit in loft and didn't do you any favours in achieving a circulation!
    No chance of Glowworm taking responsibility for poor system water quality!
    BS 7593 compliance is no 5minuite job!

    Wouldn’t the boiler warranty be void anyway if it’s found that no flush out was done on install 👍

    • @cputilitysolutions
      @cputilitysolutions  Год назад +1

      It would but most manufacturers would give the customer one warranty call as goodwill initially

  • @MrKonquer
    @MrKonquer Год назад +1

    Been there myself mate on power flushes, I’ve started to cut into the flow and returns and power flush the system and boiler independently of each other, people say I’m mad but it cuts the risk of pushing blockages into the boiler, I do use a press tool to reconnect them, I’d rather spend an extra 30min doing them separate than an extra 2hours getting them back on especially in the winter.

    • @cputilitysolutions
      @cputilitysolutions  Год назад +2

      Yeah definitely that's what I normally do, but the customer was having problems with circulation though the boiler already so I was hoping the flush may push it through and clear it
