Thank you for the video, I need to change a rad valve as the pipe has fractured just below the valve.

Is a radwrench the same as a basin spanner/wrench?

If it is a sealed system I take it you have to depressurise first???

If you fit a valve with a drain-off make sure the drain-off is closed. Mine came out of its bag in the open position. I didn’t notice and flooded the floor as soon as the radiator valves were opened !

Got one of these for DIY and they're awsome, used to remove 6 radiators whilst decorating and also fitted muoltiple new TRV's. Only issue is it's easy to split the rubber shield so buy spares if you will use more than a handful of times, also worth getting other spare bits that you can find online (i bent a pinch bolt). I think my only criticism of the kit is that it's not very robust but none the less it does a good job.

Let some pressure out then just plug the rad with tissue.

Wow that really is simple. Do you have to drain your system before you change the valve? Wouldn’t water flow out of the pipe??

Yeah very nice, but as well as the £20 for clamps you'll pay another £20 for freezer kit

  • @Danielcaie92

I wouldn't mind having a pair a rad clamps right enough, but you're as well just bunging it by turning the valve to face you whilst off, and then turning it on til the water stops.
