oh my god ! i've watched many videos they all were vague and go straight to attaching, then sewing, but THIS !!! saved my life, THANK YOU STACY !!!!! YOU SAVED MY LIFE !
Thank you so much, Stacy, for this tutorial! I've been searching and searching to find the answer to why the fabric wasn't moving (just making a big nobby). To all of you out there, the answer is in this video: The PUSH thingie not only has to be down BUT also pushed back. And pushed back again when doing another buttonhole. This is not mentioned in the Singer manual. Thanks again for the clear and concise tutorial.
Thank you for the precise instructions. I am feeling somewhat scared (new technique). My husband ordered a nice shirt from Amazon. The problem? Whoever sewed the shirt only put a buttonhole on one cuff. Yikes! The last time I made buttonholes was 15(?) years ago using my 1970 White sewing machine. The process involved inserting a metal cam(close to the size of the desired button) into the buttonhole maker attachment. Then removing the regular pressure foot and screwing on the attachment, making the buttonholes, taking off the attachment, and putting the regular foot back on.
@@sewingwithstacy I owe you a huge(!) thank you. In a quiet place with courage in hand, I made 4 practice button holes while watching your video, then made the real buttonhole on my husband’s nice blue shirt. Practice was important, and trying out the holes with the actual button. The next time I need to make buttonholes, I will be measuring the actual button and placing a button 1/8inch bigger in the button space on the buttonhole foot. If the actual button is kind of thick, the placeholder button will be 1/4 inch bigger.

I'm glad you found it helpful! Happy buttoning!
Great job, this is much better than the Singer channel's buttonhole tutorial.
Wow, thanks!

Oh man! The metal cams! Takes me back! You got this and remember, it’s just thread. You can always take it out and do it again if needed. Good luck!
@@sewingwithstacy thank you so much for the encouragement!
