I finally found one!!! I finally found a arb sahara bumper that ive been wanting for sometime now. I waited for a used one to pop up locally because a) price b) condition. with used stuff its usually cheaper than buying new, and come pre scratched which is great so when i do scratch it up, i wont feel as bad.
anyhow, on with the install. This install was relatively straight forward but it was very time consuming. It was bolt on, but there were a few things that were just annoying to install.
and since this bumper came with lights, wiring was involved too! no matter tho, its nothing i havent done before. plus it was totally worth it in the end.

The frustration shot was a nice touch chow keep it up
🤣🤣🤣
Your rig looks super clean! I went with the Dissent for my LX470, but ARB Sahara and TJM were my other choices. The ARB install does seem easier than Dissent tho.
Good job, especially on your own.
Remember to make a wheel alignment when you have installed the winch.
Was forgotten with mine after installation and because of the extra weight the wheels were completely worn on the inside after a year.
Best regards from Germany,
Sebastian
Awesome video as always! Can’t believe it’s a one man job!! Also can’t help noticing the awesome looking tires and rim setup. Can you please share size and maker of rims and tires?
Yup, it’s totally doable by yourself. Tires are 315/75/16 on 16x8 +0 te37
Nice work. I’d like to see what u reckon about your rooftop tent. Do they stop a lot of wind, when travelling? I see a lot a wagons have them in New Zealand. Wonder if they affect fuel mileage much? Sure looks cool tho. I replaced my radiator at 500k, as it was getting pretty tatty. Went oem triple core from memory. Was not cheap. Are the alloy ones better? Mind you, I guess the summers get pretty hot in your neck of the woods.
So far I don’t see much wind resistance or loss of mpg with the rtt installed. Mind you, I drive like a grandpa. The radiator seems to be working good, but I’ll have to have a sugar hooked up to it to see any real difference
Thanks for posting this. Saving me money on labor. And didn’t realize you tossed on some Volks. That’s big money. Looking sweet. As for your CB antenna, for functional purposes keep it at higher points for transmission and use. I doubt it’ll make much difference from your good to bumper but the higher the better. Have you ran engine temps with your bigger radiator? Any improvements?
Good to know, maybe I’ll leave the cb alone then. I don’t have a gauge for the water temp, but I’ll try to see about getting a scan gauge or something
Excellent job as always. Any thoughts on upgrading your 100's headlight housings? I went to LED bulbs, but they still don't have the beam pattern of modern vehicles.
I know they have a kit for the LX470, but unfortunately nothing for the lc. And as u already found out, upgrading to led bulbs isn’t really that much of an upgrade
BX built has halo retrofits for the 100 series
Great video, I love that bumper as well, just some 411 for you, the closed loops are tie down points for flat bed type storage, pretty sure they ARE NOT recovery rated at all…. the odd hook for the pass side isn’t bent, they are slightly canted as it’s a recovery point and when slack would come on your line it might not let the loop fall off the hook accidentally. Keep up the great work!
Great job...looks good. Will u get a winch
Nice video! Sell me that 900RR!
Was the hook backwards when you reinstalled it?
Great video. Quick question. What’s the best course of action to get a new master cylinder for a 100 series? I’m having issues here in Raleigh North Carolina. Any advice would greatly be appreciated. Thanks
For safety items like that, I’d only go oem
@@chowcares 10 four. Is this part relatively easy to get and or is it expensive?
When are you going to buy a 200 series so I can get your help with my truck!?😂
You forgot to shoe the adjustment for the fog lights ? Mine was shining up into the sky when i installed mine.it had to be adjusted but not exact
I just eyeballed it for now, seems to be ok but I’ll need to adjust them soon
It’s shra s h r a
In arabic صحرا
Means desert.
Thanks for the great installation video. There’s someone in my local marketplace selling just the bumper. Do you know if it fits without the winch mounting bracket? He’s selling just the bumper part.
My favorite bumper for the 100 series! Hoping to get one someday!
All your videos are great ! I drive an LX470 and your teachings come in very handy.
Thanks brother.
I thought you sold the landcruiser awhile ago. Did you buy another one?
Hey, so there's a very affordable 100 series. From Beverly Hills that has 350K miles on it. But has had so much service work done for all the important spots. You think that the car is worth the time if it's a socal car. even with the high miles?
Depends on how much they’re asking
@@chowcares 7500$
@@chowcares I'd love to send you the saved PDF CarFax I got on it. They've replaced the belts nearly every 60 miles of owning the car. Waterpump, Thermos and brake fluid flushes on the regular. I'm waiting on under body pictures of the car now. But I may have it delvivered in a few weeks. Just really worried about the 349K miles and the Carfax really paints a good picture. But I'm just worried I won't get much more out of her in case of something. it's a 2002 with all the comfort add ons. But no third row seats. :(
@@Ponyo3816 if it’s been taken care of, which it sounds like it, these motors can go 500k easy. Rust is your main concern, so look closely at the undercarriage
@@chowcares it's a far away car. So I'm mkaing them put it on the lift but it lived in Beverly Hills for 20 years.
So I doubt much at all.
I have this one =) Yep we had to install extra relay to the rear pocket.
Another quality video 👍🏽
great work.
can u tell me how much u got the bumper for?
Nice come up. I was eyeing it as well on offerup!
Great video thanks for sharing
Looks really good
