"The Burbs" was my favorite movie when I was a kid and still is to this very day! Second favorite with Tom Hanks is "Money Pit" it's absolutely hilarious, I recommend both movies
I found this video specifically because I typed in “The Burbs” in the search and it brought me here. And so, naturally I expected Tom to say The Burbs was his favorite movie. But not so! Still fun interview tho.
@@Wesleech Speaking Corey Feldman, been waiting for goonies sequel also.. but insert the stranger things cast and use goonies cast as their parents. . .
The Burbs is amazing. It's not for everyone but those who know it love it! And I am definitely one of them. Such a classic B movie. It is endlessly quotable and has mystery and comedy. The type of fun summer hangout movie that they just don't make anymore. I also grew up in a Suburban Cul-de-sac so I totally relate to the setting and characters and all of the neighbors kind of knowing and watching each other and the one weird house on the block. Disappointed he didn't say the Burbs after reading all of these comments I thought he maybe mentioned that as his favorite.
I'm not surprised in the slightest and am very happy that The Burbs has won the comment section. The momentum this film is still gaining in the cult following world is seemingly unparalleled for a reason.
That thing you do is awesome but the best TH film, in fact the best film ever is The 'Burbs. My sister and I watched it so much we can recite the whole film. It turned 35 yesterday! Anyone else feeling old?
I thought it was a lot more popular now? I feel it was forgotten soon after release but has a huge following now. Maybe not as well mentioned as Big but it seems like a cult classic nonetheless.
'That Thing You Do' is by far my favorite Tom Hanks movie and ranks among my all time favorite movies. In fact I am hard pressed to think of a movie I've seen more often. Maybe that has to do with having grown up playing in bands during the 60-70's in the age of the Beatles, etc. but bandmates will often quote entire bits of dialogue from the movie at rehearsals.

On the subject of dogs, that scene in 'The 'Burbs' where the camera zooms in on Walter's dog, Queenie, is hilarious. Apparently, some people don't get that movie's vibe. A lot of the gags are homages to classic horror movie tropes from the 1950s. Only lovers of the absurd and genuine-article cinephiles "get it." And you have to imagine me saying "get it" in the voice of Quentin Tarantino.
