  • 6.4L 392 Scatpack adds kooks long tube headers and jumps on the dyno to see how much HP & Torque was gained. In this Ted from Jannetty Racing talk about the performance gains adding long tube headers to a 392 v8 hemi. All of Dodges SRT models have mid length exhaust headers/manifolds so the performance gains going to long tube will be very interesting! Are Kooks long tube headers the best for the 6.4L 392 V8 Hemi? Well lets see how it does on the dyno.

    FYI: Jannety's Dyno is made by Superflo and is state of the art for generating real world WHP numbers. Anyone who operates a dyno can easily change the settings (for example the "smoothing factor" ) and get fantasy land results. This Scat Pack might run in the 470's or higher with just a click of the mouse. Ted's as honest as the day is long.

I won't do anything to it except the Hellcat Lower airbox with light inlet and exhaust until the warranty runs out. I like the Shakers, but they really seem to be a whiz-bang cosmetic performance hit that you pay for. I thought about the T/As but they lose the heat extraction vents. Everything I've seen indicates that hellcat intake with the standard heat extraction venting hood will give the best performance. Aftermarket CAIs don't seem to perform any better than the HC intake.

    • @pmac5386
      @pmac5386 5 лет назад +1

      ok good question-most of these mods to shown to date put minimal stress on the internals. Although a bad tune could do some serious damage. Hey they're machines and things happen. This scat pack had a faulty PCV connection/valve with 600 miles on it and blew smoke like a diesel locomotive. Forced air should not exceed the limitations of the low end (tread carefully) and NOS is a big no no!! It's for hardcore professionals and they blow engines all the time.

    • @RTLife
      @RTLife  5 лет назад +1

      If you keep it n/a you'll be just fine. Blowers/Nos add a bit of stress onto the engine. Headers, exhaust, intake just optimize the air going into out of the engine. Tuning will make sure the air/fuel ratio is on point so you're not running rich/lean & potentially hurting any parts.

    Did I miss something? Was the horsepower gains Actual number mentioned? Also, did this also include a car that had an Airraid box and Hellcat throttle body? If so, the results would be a little skewed over just adding headers.
