I really enjoy making these videos where I take existing designs (today that is from Adidas) and then revamping them or making alternations to improve the effectiveness of the design itself. I simply use graphic design principles, my own style, and an eye for design, to elevate the end result and make them more functional.
It was difficult finding 'bad' designs for Adidas simply because most of the graphic design for Adidas is of such a high level created by top tier agencies. However I have found 4 designs that I think can be improved and with my changes, I hope you agree too!
If you found todays before and after style video enjoyable or useful, let me know in the comments section and drop a like on your way out. Subscribe to stay updated to all of my uploads and until next time, design your future today, peace

I really love the way you logically study the imagery structure and then organize your content accordingly. Loved all modified designs... especially the first one was a stark change...
Some of these very pretty good! But I kinda liked the original Yeezy and "Impossible is nothing"
yes, sometimes he overthink about the details. Sometimes you just let your feelings design
I feel this way to, sometimes breaking the rules is ok because it creates some new perspective looking at things.
All the designs principles are not like the law of physics.
Yeah I thought the same. I actually liked shadows which gave it more of a 3dish feel on yeezy, and impossible is also more appealing to me before redesign, maybe mostly because typography is lighter, and the athlete's picture is just better. But orange adidas redesign is absolutely stunning
I agree with you with the Yeezy, but I think the "Impossible is nothing" redesign of typo is better. It's just that the model is kinda boring, which makes the original better.
agree, the original Yeezy brings more emotions, that is important point.
Much appreciated. LOVE your new version. I’m saving everything you do. I could watch this content all day.
One of the reasons I love to watch your videos is because as a drop-out and self taught designer, I often struggle putting these practices into words. For example, I've been using hierarchy for years but never even knew it was called hierarchy. I do things based off my own judgment of how it should look. Great content and defiantly expanding my knowledge. It is very encouraging to see that im doing some of the same things I see in your videos, even if I do not necessarily know the proper terms/explanations. Great work my friend, as always!
Great video Tom ! 🔥🔥🔥 Wish I could see new content everyday, but I know that's hard and nearly impossible. Love your videos so much man ! Keep it up 🙌🙌🙌
Honestly, for the 2nd one of the Yeezy's, I actually thought the before looked better. Here's why: You washed out the true colors of that model shoe by attempting to make an angelic/halo look to it. When you're selling to customers, it's really important to maintain the actual look of the product. It allows a potential customer to imagine how the product will look with their style or mentally combine it with other styles of clothing they have at home when you display the true-to-life colors of the product. Consider the general public perception, will EVERYONE understand there's a halo/effect there and that the shoe really is a deeper, richer, gray in life? And because the shadow was also removed beneath it, you lost a sense of dimension and depth to the ad. When you look at the before and after side by side, from far away, the after LOOKS like it has more negative space because of the loss of drop shadow and the white wash of the colors. The text in the background was too light to give an illusion of a more filled in space.
Tye og Yeezy design is fine but I like his redesign. The only thing I don't like about it is the softening up of the item itself.
I really love how you simplified each design man I'll keep these in mind Thank you!
I'm a new learning graphic designer haha please keep making these kinds of videos Satori
Thanks man. Each of the first three improvements literally put a smile on my face. this vdo was really very insightful.
Tom, you are such an inspiration and I am so happy that I found your channel! Amazing redesigns!
You totally improved the Rise Above ad. Well done 👏🏼
Hey thanks a lot
The rise above one delighted me whe you added the semi transparent logo in the background. It filled up the space in such an elegant way
*Best content as usual. Thanks for Share*
Thank you for sharing your approach on design again and again, it really makes me a better designer. Excellent post :-), you made the first three dramatically better. Keep it up. Thanx again.
Honestly the original YEEZY looked fine and the "Impossible is Nothing" all i would change would be to bring the "nothing" text closer to the "IS" word and it would be perfect. The remake design looks to "default" in a way and it doesn't give off the energy the original one does, as you mentioned. Either way, nice video!
I totally agree:)
I like both ... on his however, it looks like he's repeating the word "YEEZY" in the horizontal behind the shoe, in which case it's misspelled... it's starts with "ZEY" which messes with my eyes.
The main issue I see with the original "impossible is nothing" is the crazy amount of emphasis put on the 'is' which doesn't really say anything. Curious how much better the redesign would look with the original image though, as that image is much more dynamic and fills the space better.
What font did you use for the impossible?
That's what he said in the video.
Love this channel, its very good for my channel, thanks for sharing
Wow! Very cool video!
On the “Día de los Muertos” design, it would make more sense to make emphasis on “a los que se van antes” referring to the ones that have left this world before us, los “muertos”.
yes, it kinda lost the message you want to say...
He did a great job!
I love every bit of your design. I often feel like I should have thought of this or that after you come up with each design.
Love to seeing this redesign with your own perspective, i hope u can do it again at the other brands!
you have done a great job with your minimal concept really helpful for us👏
You have exceptional content, I loved it and very useful. Thank you very much ❤
I really loved this video series
I love your videos man!
Thanks Nave, that means a lot :)
cool redesigning with perfect explanations , 👍
Amazing man! I liked all of your designs. Maybe its because I too like the clean and minimal designs.
I love the way these designs are simplified in a way that anyone can read and interpret the posters.
Really like these kinds of videos from you ,
Amazing work really brings out the difference
Thanks :)
Awesome. I can't have it enough. Keep it up
You've done a pretty good job. Keep it up!
Nice video Thanks
Really a valuable video content. Thank you.
This is superb for beginners. thank you
Glad you liked it
Wow! Thanks a lot!! This tips will help me a lot to improve my skills as a graphic designer!
Wish I found your channel sooner! Still this is a game changer! Thanks man!
I have more videos like this one in a playlist on my channel homepage :)
Super cool on how you arrange the text. I’m going to school for graphic design. I enjoy it!
Woooow love your classes/videos!!! Thank you!!!
:))
Hey it’s not the designers fault. It’s the client asking for the revision. Example using basketball as bullet points
If the designer is good, they will have the balls to call the client out on a blatantly bad design decision. You have to basically politely tell the client that - you are not a designer, and this looks horrible.
@@sayanbiswas7364 If a designer says that to a client then surly he's gonna get fired. Majority of clients love to destroy the design and want you to make something that only they personally like. They don't care if its a bad design or not. Their small spectrum of design in their mind tells them that its perfect for them and they go with it by rejecting top-notch designs.
Those are not mistakes btw. Every designer has different opinions but we like Satori's perspective.
I really agree with you!
Every designer has their own style and normally people who pay look for the one they like the most and people who wants those balls as a bullet point waste your time, they don't know what they want and on top of that they will ask for a discount! Even if you need money you must have character to say "sorry but its not going to be possible since my work represents me and that doesn't meet the features for a professional design" you're a professional not a puppet
Oooo That swag, love how you thrash them down, you are really good man 🙌🏻
Brilliant video, thank you!
Good reworks. The first three needed it but YEEZY was pretty good. The last one didn't really work at all originally but improved as a redesign but still kinda felt lacking something. I love minimal design as well so I enjoyed the reworked ideas.
This is the best before and after video I have watched 🤩...so amazing
I'm curious who can dislike your videos. Poor people. Thank you so much for this and all other videos. you are a inspiration for millions. Hugs. 🤗
Great Videoz
I really love your every video 😍
Amazing videos. Keep them coming!
Thanks! Will do!
I love those type of videos!
Glad you like them!
Damn, much Respect! So glad I found your channel. I agree with you 100% you are very good sir. I will be taking notes. Ty!
hey thanks a lot for the feedback :D
i like all the modification you did! i also had the same ideas while looking at them! amazing
awesome, thanks for your comment Laura
wow i thought the original yeezy one was pretty good but you always nail it with your redesigns!!
Thanks a lot for the comment Stephanie
Thanks for your supporting people with Tutorial on Graphic design.
I love this well done.
Cheers man
great design and the way you have explained the process is really helpful
Thanks for your feedback
I am sad to say that I have just today discovered your channel, but I knew within seconds of the starting the first video that I would be subscribing -- and this is the fourth video I have watched in quick succession. Sad to say again, but too often brand requirements and the lack of true design skills on the part of clients make for less-than-effective designs. I love your ability to improve on the designs, and I will be adding a link to your videos to my class site, as well as a recommendation for novice designers to subscribe. That Adidas redesign? Just gorgeous. Thank you for sharing your work with us!
Sorry, but I'm continuing to watch the video. I often (jokingly? maybe not!) offer to pay my students not to use a gradient or to add a different-colored stroke around typography.
great work.
Many thanks
Really awesome
Excellent video
Thanks for the visit
your designs are more simple and so pretty clear for eyes... perfect 🎩
I prefer the original Yeezy and Impossible designs. They may look “off” when judged by design principles etc but they evoke an emotion. The first and third images I love your redesigns
2:24 oh daaam that tiny addition made it perfect really
glad you think so Somili
You are a doctor of graphic design 😊😊
Wow, thanks lol
I would say he is Surgeon 😊😊
Great video! Thank you, from Brasil!
And thanks for the comment!
You're really good Tom 🙌✨.
The last re-design looked really weak compared to the others though but it's still great.
nice work
Thanks :))
The last one. I have done posters similar to this but made the text as an outline only covering the subject otherwise you lose the word, as has happened here, you've lost three letters and the 0.5 of a second word recognition. The others work well.
In the first case I think the problem came from the fact that the designer was desperately trying to create flow using both hands, then the knee and foot at the expense of alignment and proximity. I kind of love how you corrected it and managed to maintain some flow between the top text and top hand. I recommend you do a video about how the different principles of design ought to interact with one another in a non competing manner
喜欢这种改进设计的视频 谢谢
I like you thought process in typography, I like the yeezy boost 350. You missed out on the shadow and still made the design stand out
Fantastic!
very nice bro
I'm wow! They are all awesome.
you are THE KING of graphic design.
great , it's really nice
This is great and am so addicted to this style of design. A big fan and follower down in Africa- Uganda
Thanks for your feedback Darwin 👍
@@SatoriGraphics thanks for your lessons as well.
Love your minimal style
Mostly I like the original ones but your ones was also not bad and was also very creative ♥️
Uffff Great 🔥🔥🔥🔥
It was almost relieving that one of your redesigns was not so good, as you said , he fourth. The others were masterpiecies!! Big thanks for sharing!
Lol cheers
Great great greatest video, please make some more videos like that one.
Excellent re-design!
Glad you like it!
I subscribed to your channel back in 2019. But I wasn't giving it much importance, although I loved your style and the way you create content. I went into graphic design without any theoretical knowledge and failed badly. I researched how I can improve my skills, not just focusing on the design tools but also diving deep into the theoretical and psychological knowledge of the design.
I found your content a masterpiece on youtube. I have recently watched your few playlists and I must say I have found a treasure box. And everything for FREE. The premium content for FREE. Loved your content and the way you explain things.
Can you please let me know if you have a premium graphic design course that I should opt for?
I guess the design at 4:54 would look cool with white background. But your choice of font was also great for that design
Hi Mentor,
Great design taste and vision.
Btw you just missed the hamburger icon on the Yeezy's project. The icon is over the letter "Y". Considering its complementing section of the website.
I thought the 4th one was weakest, and the yeezy one wasnt an improvement for me. but the third one was absolute fire, and the first was an improvement also. interesting and informative to see what you did on all of them though, thanks for sharing
Thanx Tim :)
Clean Redesigns 🌟
youtube: satori uploads a video.
me: take notes, take notes.
😅🤓
Wow! Awesome!! Thanks for the video. How to get in touch with you if I want my logo designed?
i really follow the design concepts of yours.
Great stuff!
The designs improve a lot 👏👏👏
U the man bros
Let's gooo 👌🏻❤️
third one you killed it too
I like the minimalist approach
Your so good. But i have a future idea, could it be a idea to tell in your video´s like this which fonts you used and why.
Thanks for the suggestion and yeah I'll try and work that into future videos
really your re-design is good 👍
Thanks a lot 😊
Very nice redesigns. I like your style and all the principles you use, I am trying that myself. One question though, Do your clients like this kind of design? Do they prefer it?
The Rise Above rework really brings out the theme much better. And the orange poster certainly breathes better, the three stripes at the bottom are so satisfying, like the heel tab of a shoe. However, I feel like the Impossible rework completely deflates the thematic cohesion of the original. In the original, the athlete isn't simply "breaking through", he's impossibly positioned, interweaving amongst the letter to make his shot. The composition is indeed a bit unpleasing, but this comes from the way the athlete metaphorically/visually is threading a needle amongst the letters, which evokes crampedness and discomfort, but this discomfort too is thematically cohesive because doing the seemingly impossible usually is uncomfortable. In this case the "unpleasantness" of the design serves to hold the viewer's attention and provoke thought much more than it does to detract from the ad. In the rework, especially with the low light of the athlete and logo, I'd probably scan over it without even stopping if I were to see it in the real world... it's just kind of plain and doesn't evoke what the words say.
You designed them better than they originally were 🔥
Wow. You are just amazing. Thank you. However I just want to point your last poster. " Impossible is nothin". If you could use the text as the net before the player. What you think? Please dont take it otherwise. Just a suggestion. All the best.
about the yeezy, why did you choose to start the middle line with Z? to me it installs a bit confusion into dsgn, ( sure I am not a customer. )
