Nathaniel is like your older cousin who actually did something with his life.
😆😆😆😆
And that is how you make me go back to the habit of comparing myself to him after I've quitted.🙂
This is so true I love my older cousin
Couldnt of said it better
The metaphor is so funny
«There's no winning or losing. There's just being human».
Thank you, Nathaniel. Always.
I am 41 yo now. From 15 to 30 yo I was obsessed with this idea of falling behind too. I drove myself crazy. I see a lot of myself at your age in your videos. If I could, I would tell my younger self this: "stop being so hard on yourself!! Be patient and pace yourself. Things in life take time. You cant pull on the carrots in the garden to make them grow faster. They are not falling behind, they just need time to grow. You need to give life enough time to work its magic. It doesnt mean that you have to be completely passive, just work with the flow of life instead of against it."
I am at a point in life where I am actually questionning this idea of productivity and accomplishments versus taking the time to live and enjoy the simple joys in life. Is life a competition that I need to win or a simple experience i need to live?
My dear Nathaniel, believe me, you are not falling behind. You are exactly where you should be right now and you have accomplished more in 5 years than some people in 50!
Have you read The Surrender Experiment?
Maria T thank u This Helped so much 🙏🏼
@@vinn297 You are welcome! I'm happy to hear it helped you! 😊 You should visit my website Sea of Solace www.seaofsolace.com ... It is about self care and personal growth...if you ever need more tips.
Good luck! 💚
@@seaofsolace I'll check you site. Thanks for sharing. May I ask, what is the surrender experiment about?
@@joelGi The Surrender Experiment is a book written by Michael A. Singer. The book is about what happens when you let go of your fears and surrender to life. Very inspiring and thought-provoking.
Thank you for visiting my website. 😊

he needs a podcast, who agrees?
I personally like to see someone speak instead of only hearing them. You see the emotions and I think I get less distracted.
Arieke M hey that’s fine, he likes to make videos. I’d love to listen to a podcast as well
@@ariekem8088 there are video podcasts (like joe rogan)

"Do not censor and silence your own voice before the world has even had a chance to hear it" is such a powerful sentence. I think we all seek to try to do the very best/perfect, but mistakes build our character, and who we are, and that's okay.
I spend a lot of time on RUclips - this guy is the only RUclipsr who has actually impacted on my life (i.e influence and changed my behaviours). For that, and for all of your incredibly valuable content - Thank you!
Yes me too! Actually kicked me to get back to working on my projects again, and make me think what I want to put on my own YT channel now!
“If you accept a limiting belief, then it will become a truth for you.”
―Louise Hay
and that's on law of attractionnn
This is one of your most powerful videos you have ever produced.
"There's still a part of you that feels like you could lose." Nothing comes closer to the truth than that. And not only 30 seconds after slappin' the ass with such a crystal clear truth, you share with us a brand new way of thinking that, with time and practice, can be implemented into our lives in a way that puts an end to the dissatisfaction of trying too hard.
God bless you, my man. You are something special here and I wish for you the absolute best here n' now and for whatever comes next
Yeah, that hit me pretty hard, too.
@@martinarmbrust3606 After he said that I was like: Damn. He's just too good! And I swear his videos come out at the right time - maybe something to do with law of attraction or something like that but it's so in sync with my life!
@@RhianeHacker I think so too. LOA
"The present moment is always enough."
„Discomfort is where things get interesting, it’s where you see and built real character, it’s where life gets exciting and unpredictable.“ this video and its message resonates sm with me rn. Thank you for doing this amazing work of always sending the things out I need 🖤
He did say, "In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." :) Bless you, beautiful soul.
Man, I got tears in my eyes. I needed this :’)
Hey Nathaniel! I just wanted to let you know that I've been watching you for a while now and your videos resonate so much with me. I'm a native Italian speaker and English teacher and I've had this desire to try and use the Internet to teach Italian and talk about language learning, one of my biggest passions) for quite a while, but I've always postponed it because I was not sure on how to start.
I have to say that you motivated me to just start and see where it could go on the way, so I've been uploading videos on my channel for about a month now. I'm at around 1000 subscribers, which is amazing by itself but, more importantly, I feel like I'm doing something useful and using my passion to help other people.
Well, that's it, just wanted to thank you for helping me without even knowing it. And kudos for your Italian btw ;)
Ciao!
Lingua Franca Congratulations!! I’ve been thinking about/planning to start a channel teaching English and language learning for so many months and even filmed and edited my first videos but I’m too scared to upload lolol I’m impressed you’ve gotten 1,000 subscribers. Wow! I feel like no one’s gonna find my videos
@@abcxyz4653 Thanks Ali! I know, it can be terrifying to put your work out there for other people to judge! But you've actually done the "hard work" part, don't stop here! You can do it :D
Lingua Franca Thank you :) If I ever learn Italian I’ll use your channel haha. Good luck growing your channel!
Nathaniel, you've helping me for so long I can't even say how much you impacted on me. Even now cuz of that quarantine I felt like I was going crazy. My thoughts were absolutely unclear but when I watched the video I got better. You've been literally healing my entire life. I wish I could thank you somehow more that just write it here but still thank you with all my heart.
This. "Do what you can and let the rest just happen "
"it all counts" - love it!
"Do what you can and let the rest just happen" This video was so forgiving and informative. I wrote down so may quotes!
I see myself so much in u. We kind of view the world in the same way. Love your content.
Yes!! This is such an important message. Your natural tendency to want to "work harder" on things to make them "work out" is in itself a sense of forcing a situation to be one way when there's likely a reason why it's not working out. Trusting and getting out of your own way is (I'll repeat) such a good message. Thank you for this - I've been enjoying your work a lot!
This is so good. Well said!
"Letting the things that are naturally bursting out out of you come out."
Silencing our own voice is a crime that we commit against ourselves. This is what I have learned over time. For a few months and a few weeks I have started to express and talk things that are important to me without having to worry about what people think. It is uncomfortable and difficult at first but the more we talk the more we get used to it. We cannot deprive ourselves of living.
"You do what you can, and then you let the rest just happen." - Thank you.
I'm smiling at the moment. Thank you so, so much, Nathaniel! From the bottom of my heart!
I'm going to keep coming back to this video frequently 💙
I am very happy I subscribed to this channel. These sort of random videos really add to my day 🖤
This idea feels so important. I think as a person with mental health issues it can be really easy to become obsessed with the idea of taking behind because I have "lost" chunks of my life to it. But it's the overworking myself to try and "catch up" that has made it harder to recover. I keep forgetting I'm only 24 and there's acres of life ahead of me
Each of these words is a gem. You are way wiser than you think. Thank you dear.
I'm so so happy that you started this channel! The shorter videos with those brief thoughts are a nice format to me. Brief but inspiring. Thank you Nathaniel.
This is something that I was exactly meant to hear right now, at this very moment
I know you are taking a break from RUclips- I am happy that you were brave enough to make that decision and I hope you can have a good rest although I really miss your content
I hope you come back some day❤️
And even if you don't know that what you have done is so much already
I love the idea of embracing discomfort. Since the quarantine began, I have had to move back to my childhood home with my parents. Honestly, this experience has taught me so much more than living alone did. I think the key thing is that when I came home to visit my family, I didn't have to stay long enough to face my flaws and shortcomings fully. There's something about being with your innermost circle that makes your flaws and personal obstacles come to surface. At first, I was irritated that these qualities of mine were showing up. But then, if I never had to face them, what was the point? What's the point of thinking I have grown or overcome obstacles just because I never truly had to face them? I think embracing the discomfort of knowing that I am not perfect and that these flaws are there inside me has forced me to face them. I think this is how we can really grow. However, I do think that we can evaluate our actions and thoughts and categorize them as things we want to overcome and things we want to nurture. That doesn't mean we should get caught up in fear of winning and losing. But I think we can't really grow unless we evaluate our own behavior as a third party. What do you think?
Great message. One thing that sort of comes up for me though, about getting one's voice heard - there are already so many voices! also silence is underrated :)
Dude...you blow my mind every single time. Thank you for voicing things that actually matter and helps. It really resonates with so many people. Thanks for being true to who you are. It is so refreshing. Keep on doing what you are doing.
This 3 min video is what I needed to kill my anxiety. Keep up with the good work. ❤️
"Do what you can and let the rest just happen." love it
"... people will reject you"
Yep so true!
I'm going back to study for my exam because of this, short but intense reminder that it all depends by me.
Thanks Nath
I have been having such a ROUGH week and I really needed this. I’m watching it again. And again. I need these words embedded in my head.
This hits right in the feels. I needed this today- thank you!
this one talked to me. I followed your work for some time now. I'm thankful for your way of looking at things and you inspired me to look at ideas you looked at. nearly all of them have a positive impact on me, so thank you :).
this one seems razor sharp, determined, committed and more confident than ever, I love that.
you are a beautiful human, let's keep walking.
Again with the words that cut me to the core. So timely right now. Biggest takeaway for me is the reminder of how much I censor myself and not let myself be. So good, Nathan.
Qué poderoso motivante me has regalado!
Gracias totales!
I watched this content earlier when you published but for sometime I was going through something, it was such a discomfort that even trying all sort of things still was not able to bring myself down here in the present moment - feel like a particle moving in its extreme velocity in a dark place without any direction! Impatiently I was trying everything to calm myself but here I am - feeling a little peace...
feels like I am loaning so much from you... that subscribing, liking or commenting honestly wont return enough!
An I am sure, your content is helping so many others..
This is an incredible message. Thank you, Nat.
Such strong words presented in such a natural way. Thanks!
You're an inspiration, Nathan. I want to make videos of your quality.
Thank you. I really needed to hear your message right now in this moment.
Yah, it's not an exaggeration to say that I almost shed a tear at this video. It's short, but very impactful nonetheless. One point I'd like to mention is when you said "Getting out of your way is letting the things that are naturally bursting out of you coming out ... not fighting against what's currently happening."
That really reminded me of the "tao" of Taoism. Tao is the natural order of the universe. Oftentimes, human tends to frantically goes for/against something, which actually ended up straying further and further away from the natural way of things/tao. I don't know where I'm going with this comment because I'm not a good storyteller like you lol, but I think we as human should try to understand this "tao" as to not blindly chase after something. Instead, we follow the flows, the natural currents of life.
English is not my first language, I'm sorry hahah
Thank you. I recently found your two channels and I think they are the best I have seen so far on RUclips.
I feel like it depends on a situation.
If you really have to force yourself and beat to death just to finish a task you, in the end, don't even feel satisfied with, then yeah, reconsider your path.
But once we're talking about addiction, things start to get harder. If you're an addict and just get out of your own way and let yourself do what you feel you should do, you might never get out of this addiction. Sometimes the thing that's bursting out of you and your mind's telling you to do is actually not the right thing.
Great and inspiring video, don't get me wrong, but I just thought it's important to address this part of the issue. Sometimes you do have to wrestle yourself to get better, but sometimes it's not necessary. Just a case by case thing. Stay safe
Sorry for the late response, hope you see this. Just wondering what you're referring to when talking about addiction?
You won’t brute force your way out of an addiction either. Best case scenario, you’ll replace it with another
This message resonates immensily with me right now. I needed it. Thank You!
I'm so glad you created the No Backup Plan channel. I really resonate with a lot of your internal struggles and desires, and getting past perfectionism and into a place of "good enough" is so tough! You're already doing it just by making this channel. Keep going, friend!
I’m so glad people like you exist and share your voice on a platform so overflowed with simplicity.
Thank you so much for that video and those words, that was exactly what I needed to hear today!
Hey nathan, just wanted to say love you man, your wisdom triggers me with new things with each of your video that you bring out!
'Do what you can and let the rest just happen'. I think sometimes we all need to give this advice and permission to ourselves.
Truly inspires me to hear a young person as yourself speaking such wisdom. I send you my support and inspiration thank you
I literally just said to myself I’ll do this one thing I’ve been debating whether it’s worth it or not if I’m given a sign and straight away the notification for this video showed up! You’re too good!!
Very timely and much appreciated input. Totally appreciated.
Hi Nathaniel. The saying Let Go and Let God comes to mind, also Easy Dose It. Getting sober, has afforded me the ability to allow myself to get out of my own way, and just let life organically "just happen." The most freeing feeling I think. Hope you are ok today. Greetings from Montreal.
I cannot believe that this is exactly what I needed to hear right now. Btw you're not alone, I also sometimes feel like I'm not enough. Thanks for the 'kick under the butt'. Like I said, I needed it :)
Damn. In under 3 minutes you delivered such a powerful message. I'm in the final year of my masters, and I have been feeling so lost, precisely because of this idea of falling behind. It feels like accomplishing my dreams is so far into the future and I don't even know if I will ever achieve them because of rejection. But failing and trying again is what makes us grow and, as you said, builds character. The journey of life will ultimately transforms us into better people, if we let it happen ❤ Thank you for this reminder during this time of uncertainty.
Nathaniel, thank you for distilling down and helping making sense of some of the BS in life.
I can relate to your thoughts on a different level. Thank you for posting such helpful videos!
I just love how enthusiastic you are in this video.
DUDE ever since I found this video I’ve been coming back to revisit it when I feel I need a change in perspective n it’s so powerful for such a short vid I honestly am trying to start every morning w it bc it rly changed the game for me tysm!!!! The pt that made me double take n rly rly resonates w me is when u said hating urself is taking the easy way out wow I never saw it like that but that’s the tea

This video spoke to me on so many levels.
Thank you so much, Nathan! You are awesome.
Great message Nathaniel - really enjoy watching your videos!
This was a really powerful msg and I so needed to hear this right now ✨ whenever I'm in a rut even just watching his few videos changes my perspective and I leave feeling inspired⚡
Needed this video right now. Thanks for doing what you do bruv.
I just watched this 5 times over -and took notes! I needed to hear this, thank you for being you and putting into words what so many of us feel but are too scared to reflect upon and express 🖤
(I like your motion logo at the end, it's nice :p)
I quite agree with you on this video. Recently, I realised that being the best one, isn't the solution. First, it might not be possible or even a good objective, but even if you were to be the best, so what ? Is it just a way to not having to question ourselves and try to improve ourselves ? Then it's not really worth it. It's important to improve and try to change what is wrong (or what we do not like) but the most difficult thing might simply be to accept that we might not be good. But at the end, if we are able to accept it, then it's not so bad.
but yes, still hard to accept that we might be very common people in the end :')
Thanks for the inspiration, nathaniel! You never seem to fail your viewers.
Thank you so much Nathaniel. Your videos always hit me right in the feels, expressing things that I've never been able to say
You always push me to be a better version of myself, you never seize to amaze me, I really appreciate your videos, thank you so much.
"It's easier to hate yourself and stay quiet than to actually put yourself out there in the world"
That hit hard.
Needed to hear this 💯 thank you
Hey Nathaniel, I just wanted to say how you inspire me to dig into the depths of each conversation. I have been recently thinking about the common exchange between like literally everyone that goes something like this:
"Hey, how are you?
"good, hbu?'
"that's good, I'm good too!"
and that's it.
that's it.
but I know there's so much more in there..... and like, I want to be more productive and just open my eyes to the beauty of this life. There is a quote that keeps popping up and it inspires me... "Art accepts all the sadness and transforms it implicitly, affirming that beauty is essentially the presence of God." - Wendy Beckett
to conquer yourself is perhaps the most noble pursuit
Thank you so much for this video. To me the greatest creators are the ones that can help me understand and feel accepted and understood in my experience of the world. And you always manage to do that. So thank you and I wish you a full and amazing life, both good and bad
Important words! I've felt like I have held myself back in many ways. I think everyone deals with it in one way or another. It's an important topic to consider and discuss. Great video & topic!
Wow! This speaks to me! I have been having this exact conversation with my two closest friends over the past three weeks.
Thanks for this reminder and push!
Wow. Thank you for externalizing this in your, as always, eloquent words! The fear of falling behind has been something that has being holding me back recently and causing a lot of anxiety in my life. If you have any resources, like the books or interviews you mentioned, that touch further on this subject please share!
So important words! Thank you :)
So spot on and so concise
I needed to hear this. Thank you!
Thank you, for saying what I needed to hear.
"
It's a leap of faith. That's all there is, Miles. A leap of faith.
"
Thanks for this Nathaniel- I think this holds lot of truth and I thing a lot of people need to hear this 😊
THIS. Love it and I'm all for it! Nathaniel, thank you! You seem to have a way with words and your videos amazingly always match up to things I'm struggling with at the moment.
💯 thank you for sharing this video! 👍🏽
Incredible, moving. This is something I needed to hear. Thank you for sharing these thoughts.
I've started reading Meditation by Marcus Aurelius, and themes like that of this video have appeared a lot in his writing, as it does in stoic philosophy generally. Worrying only about what you can control and letting the rest flow around you... Recognising only yourself and the true source of the problems you percieve in your life... such important ideas that I think are particularly relevent right now.
Wow that's 2 minutes was intense and deep, a true slap... tks for the message
i have fallen in love with your videos. I think you're the honest reason i have even an ounce of faith left in humanity. You my friend have personality and this raw understanding of life and you discuss it so freely. Never stop.
This is brilliant and came at the perfect time, thank you for making this video on such a limiting issue for a lot of people and what a wonderful thing for us all to be mindful of at this time. It's like a public mental note to self :)
This is outstanding, thank you for sharing this angle of view on this topic, its opening our eyes ❤️
Loved the video! So powerful and profound. You're helping me a lot, wish I had more friends like you. Best wishes!
I was asked recently "que ferais-tu si tu n'avais pas peur" (what would you do if you didn't fear anything) and you worded my thoughts perfectly :"there is no winning or losing, there's just being human". I would just be myself and stop filtering/fearing my anger or sadness, emotions we are told are 'bad'. Thanks you, perfect timing as always.
This is such a powerful message. Thank you for this. I feel like in some way I needed this.
As an author, you just make me want to write. It kills me... my depression is so bad and I'm struggling to do what I love, but you? You really make me feel a certain way, my man.
