I have been making bread for more than 25 years and I have found that an electric knife works the best without shredding the bread. Great video. Thank you
My brother-in-law's friend is a professional baker and he taught me to weigh flour (120 grams per cup) or to scoop the flour and shake it into the measuring cup sweeping it with a straight edge. Scooping and packing (like you did) could result in using more flour than the recipe calls for.
I agree with him! I have been using my scale more and fluffing my flour before adding to my measuring cup. I haven't had any problems doing it like this video, but I like to try new ways upon my research! Thanks for watching ❤️
Thank you so much! This is exactly what I was looking for. How to use a Pullman pan and how to make your dough in your bread machine, and then use it in your Pullman pan!
FYI, I've been using a bread machine for over 40 years, I've actually burned them up. But I have found that if you proof your yeast with the water and 1 tsp. of sugar for about 5 to 7 minutes. Then add the proof yeast mixture to your bread machine pan, then add any other liquids, then the dry. I have a better dough and I use only the dough cycle because I like to bake my bread in pullman pans I have a large and small pullman. Thanks for your video.
One more tip you can add alittle ground cardamon, garlic or onion powder or minced dried onions for alttle flavor. Also adding mashed potato flakes and dried minced onion makes a real nice moist machine bread!
I have a Panasonic bread machine, my second one over the years. I love it. I also mainly do the dough cycle. I have never needed to scrape the sides of the bread machine pan. My dough cycle is 2 1/2 hours. I also have the Kitchenaid mixer, but it seems so easy to use the bread machine dough cycle that I dont often ua]se the mixer anymore. I have the 13” Pullman pan and really like it for sandwiches or french toast even grilled cheese. Oh yes, the Panasonic I think may be the only brand that calls for putting dry ingredients in first and end with the liquid. Has yeast dispenser on top.
Thanks Babes😊, I'M GLAD I CAUGHT YOUR SHOW, I'VE TRIED SOURDOUGH OUT OF MY OLD WAGNER DUTCH OVEN 1ST LOAF WENT TO MY DOGGIES, SECOND LOAF A LITTLE BETTER WENT TO MY HOME REPAIR NEIGHBOR BUDDY, THIRD LOAF GOOD, ENOUGH I'M ON THE LAST SLICE WITH BUTTER & HONEY. I'M ON A BUDGET AND CAN PICKUP A THRIFT STORE BREADMAKER $15.00 AND REALLY LIKE THE SET AND FORGET DOUGH SETTING FOR 1ST RISE IDEA(what a life). 😂 I JUST ORDERED A PULLMAN 1.O LB.AND 1/2 LB. FOR MY FIRST HOMEADE SLICED BREAD JOURNEY ME AND MY DOGGIES THANK YOU❤GOD BLESS YOU ✝️
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 martinmorningstar took the words right out of my mouth!!! I, too, only use my vintage GE Electric Knife I’ve had since the ‘70’s to slice my bread! So much easier & faster, and the bread looks & is exactly like store bought! ‘Cept it’s BETTER… Can’t wait to bake your recipe!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I have the same bread slicer but I had always had the hardest time slicing my bread until I saw someone using their electric knife and tried mine, now my bread slices beautifully
To make read flour on cup of purpose flour and one tsp of vital wheat gluten so you used four c flour if it were all purpose flour you would use four tsp vital wheat gluten have done a test this is exactly the same as bread flour
Love your use of bread machine for this. Westbend makes the longer style bread if you chose to bake in there... Love my violin bread cutter for nice slices that are thicker...ty!
This was a very good comparison video! I got distracted by Chiefs game in the background, (I’m a huge Chiefs fan!). I have a bread machine, don’t like the hole the paddle leaves in it. Thanks & have a great day.😊
Hello. Thank you for watching ❤️. I don't like the hole or shape my breadmaker makes. I like to do just the dough cycle and then form it into the shape I'm going for!
we have the same bread slicer, while the slicer itself is good the knife it comes with is pretty poor bread knife. I purchased a RADA brand bread knife back 10-12 years ago and it is still a great slicer.
I like my Pullman bread a bit darker so often take lid off at end and put back in oven for another 5 minutes or so. Nice video and I should get a bread slicer except my kitchen has no room for MORE gadgets. Assume husband is watching sports. That is a bit distracting. You probably did not notice because you had ear pods in.
The bread made in the bread machine looks smoother because you only kneaded it for 5 minutes in the stand mixer, you should have done 10 minutes. You can see in the video when you are rolling it into a ball that the top was tearing.
Hello, loved this video 💖 thank you for sharing it. I just bought a small pullman pan but haven't used it yet. How long did you cook the pullman loaf ? Temp ? Thank you 😊
Hi! I bake all bread at 350 degrees Fahrenheit. It takes around 30 mins. When the internal temp reaches at least 190 I take it out of the oven. Thank you so much for watching ❤
Really that long loaf doesn’t look completely baked, it’s very pale. I think because it’s a larger amount of dough, it needs more baking time. The small loaf looks delicious ❤
It was actually completely done. Every loaf I have made in pullman has browned on top and of course when I filmed it I get a pale loaf. Lol just my luck! Thanks for watching!
I used the Pullman pan for the first time yesterday & I didn’t use a spray or oil to coat the pan but it absolutely caused my bread to stick to the pan, it came out into parts, I threw the bread away. I’m upset!
Oh no! How upsetting. It feels non stick but you need to grease it. It's recommended not to use sprays. I use crisco or butter to coat the pan and the top. Pull up your britches and try again. 😂❤

I'll have to pull my electric knife out and try that out! Thank you ❤️

Yes, definitely

Thank you for the tip! I will have to try that 🥰
I have that bamboo bread slicer also it was a gift from my son and his wife.!
Definately want that and pullman pans!

What recipe do you use for 13" Pullman tin please

If you brush your pullman with some milk or eggwash it will brown on top...

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thought you weren’t supposed to roll the dough or handle that much but thank you for showing a different way to bake the bread!
I haven't had an issue with how much I handle the dough. More gluten develops and helps the dough rise and be soft. Thanks for watching!
I have the same bread slicer but I had always had the hardest time slicing my bread until I saw someone using their electric knife and tried mine, now my bread slices beautifully
Great tip! I'll try that. Thank you ❤️
Just found your channel. In real life we could be buds! Enjoying your videos. Been thinking about getting Pullman pan.
Hey!! Thanks for watching 😍. I use my pullman pan most of the time. I just love it!!
I have a question, I would like to try this recipe but I don’t have dry milk and I don’t want to buy it. What can I use as a substitute?
You can reduce the water by 2 tbs and add 2 tbs of regular milk.. Hope this helps!
To make read flour on cup of purpose flour and one tsp of vital wheat gluten so you used four c flour if it were all purpose flour you would use four tsp vital wheat gluten have done a test this is exactly the same as bread flour
Yes, that I do when I run out bread flour or run of hard white wheat grain when I mill my flour.
Love your use of bread machine for this. Westbend makes the longer style bread if you chose to bake in there...
Love my violin bread cutter for nice slices that are thicker...ty!
Thank you so much for watching!! I love my bread machine for making my dough! ❤❤❤
I use Crisco butter spread inside my Pullman pan makes it a bit darker ❤
I'll try that!
Your ceramic loaf pan looks very wide. Can you tell me where you got it. I’m having a hard time finding a wide loaf pan.
I have had it for years. It's a Paula Dean one, I can't remember where I purchased it.
This was a very good comparison video! I got distracted by Chiefs game in the background, (I’m a huge Chiefs fan!). I have a bread machine, don’t like the hole the paddle leaves in it. Thanks & have a great day.😊

I love Rada knives! I'll have to get the bread knife for sure now.
What is the pullman pan size
Mine is a 4x13

Love my bread machine 😍 and my kitchen aid
Mine too!
You need a little bit longer bread knife so you can make longer strides. Looks yummy….

Why didn’t you just leave the bread in the bread machine and let it cook in there?
I don't like the shape of the pan in my bread machine. I prefer a loaf.
I definitely prefer to use bread machine for making the dough, and then bake in oven! Oven baking is better in my opinion ❤
Why have I been struggling at my age making dough by hand? I have two bread makers in there sitting on the shelf. 🤦🏽♀️
The bread maker is the way to go in making dough! I love using mine. ❤ So much easier.
I used the Pullman pan for the first time yesterday & I didn’t use a spray or oil to coat the pan but it absolutely caused my bread to stick to the pan, it came out into parts, I threw the bread away. I’m upset!

Don’t be to upset, remember it’s a learning curve.
An electric knife slices the best.
You are so right! I've tried it.
Horrible way to measure flour
It works for me! 😄
Melt your butter and use a brush. When cooling down the Pullman loaf place a clean towel over it, helps retain the moisture in the bread. Cheers 🍻 😊
