you're language goals!! 🙌 im inspired to study Korean harder after watching this. i have a question about a word you used around 16:44 "...가지고". i've heard ppl say that and the Korean subtitles put "어/아서" instead, so im guessing it's similar to that meaning or at least more casual version of the same thing. but could you explain what it means? ive been searching for a grammar lesson on that and i can't find anything 😭
I know this video was mostly about Ryan, but man, huuuuuuuuuuuge props to Kenji for having the courage to expose himself to such a big audience, it's not easy to do something like that, and being only a month and a half in? he's on a great way
I hope Kenji can see this comment. I would like to extend my regards to him. I am a Filipino too and been studying Korean near 6 months already. I've also found out that Kenji is a Once too, and so do I!
Huge props to Kenji, I wouldn't have had the courage to expose myself like that when I was this early in my studies. Hell, I'm even now hesitating of submitting a clip but Kenji and Ryan really did a good job here
I'm from the Philippines too. Kenji is amazing. I've been studying Korean for more than a year now and still hasn't found the confidence. As for the 오 어 sound, I definitely find it hard too. When speaking Tagalog or especially both of my native tongue (other Philippine languages), I don't even notice or care much about the difference of o and u. Learning Korean made me more aware of that. 오 우 어 is still hard for me now.
oh wow Kenji is incredible! not only is his Korean good, he is so brave for sharing that after such a short amount of time!! ive been studying Korean for a little over 2 years and the thought of filming a video and sending it to anyone, let alone a teacher, is pretty nerve-wracking. and ive even lived in Korea, too. huge props to you Kenji! you inspire me to be brave in my language learning. i predict you'll advance in your Korean quickly, with how willing you are to push yourself out of your comfort zone.
All these people are so amazing, Ryan's Korean sounds so good, I wouldnt know how to grade him XD it's perfect to me And Kenji!!! 1 month and you already sent a video, that's a great step already! it was great too, I've been studying longer and wouldn't dare to do it yet, I should follow your steps
Hi Billy. I'm here because of Kristel Fulgar. I watch here latest vlog. On her channel. She said she learned a lot about korean just because she always watch your videos. That's why I subscribe to your channel coz I want to learn some of korean language.too. thanks for this videos. God bless 🥰
Im here because of Kristel Fulgar! ❤️ I've been decided to learned korean language, i know how to write and read hangeul but sometimes some of phrases confused me, and kristel fulgar recommend this channel and now im thankful i found this youtube channel ❤️
Hi billy I just want to thank you! I’m going to order your book and I’m so happy to have found channels that help me learn this beautiful language! (Yours and miss Vicky’s) I’m planning on using her videos and your books for my learning. So just thank you! This is my first few days learning the language. Much love ❤️
just bought your first book :D can't wait to start learning xD the writing i mastered easily watching your video on it. I just need some help with pronouncing them correctly. it's kinda different from what i'm used to from Japanese(been studying it for 15 years)
kenji being so cute when he nervous lmao imma imagine myself sending a vid of me speaking korean probably gonna start it with 안녕하세라고 and mix everything XDDDDD (yes that's not a real word )
can anyone help explain a word that i heard around 16:44 ? "...가지고". it sounds related to "어/아서" but i don't understand the nuance. is it a slang thing?
I remember you made a video saying learning grammar with kpop isn't ideal. Maybe an idea for a video series is looking at some kpop songs and interpreting each lines faulty grammar and recommend how to say it?
15:58 That sounded so similar to the recorded voice of the IPA chart to the point that I thought you're the one who recorded the vowel pronunciation for the chart. 😆
I want to leave a comment to Ryan and Kenji both. I'm not an English speaker so my English is not good. Please be understanding of that. It's the Apple company's one! You should apologize to Billy! Just a Korean joke :) (사과 : apple, apology...) Nice to meet you too! I cannot believe that you learned Korean for about one and a half months!
Me: doesn’t it make sense to put spaces in between each word? Also me: *forgot that we’re talking about Korean, in which seemingly nothing is easy* 😂😂😂 Thank you for this video!! ❤️❤️
Nah, everyone learns differently - not just at different speeds but in different ways. It's better to compare yourself to yourself in the past, and not to others who are learning a completely different way than you might be.
Thanks so much for your feedback, Billy! An honour to be featured.
You're welcome! And thank you for sending in your video Ryan! :D
Thank you Ryan for sharing your video! I’m sure it took a lot of courage to make it and submit it. You did an awesome job. Goals 👏🏽
I haven't seen the video yet but I already know it's going to be great!

This is amazing feedback! Ngl I want Ryan to make his own YT channel. How he learns Korean etc. 😄
That's very flattering! I'm not sure how much I have to share, to be frank. I mostly just hang out watching and reading Korean stuff. 😅 Maybe one day!
I went here after kristel vlog
I'm from the Philippines too. Kenji is amazing. I've been studying Korean for more than a year now and still hasn't found the confidence.

Congrats Ryan and Kenji, you inspire me a lot and i´m sure a lot of more people as well. Keep it up! Thank you Billy for bringing this awsome videos.

This is so helpful! I keep using run on sentences when I speak. I'll try to apply that to make my Korean better.
Also, way to go Ryan and Kenji!
You go Ryan and Kenji!!🇰🇷💪🏾
Both were amazing! Thanks for this series Billy! ^^
Kenji was so cute!!! And wow sending in a video after studying for a month. That is crazy confidence!
Really love this series, Billy! :) Super helps people like me who are self studying. Thank you!
just bought your first book :D can't wait to start learning xD the writing i mastered easily watching your video on it. I just need some help with pronouncing them correctly. it's kinda different from what i'm used to from Japanese(been studying it for 15 years)
Ohh yes Billy that's why I could never understand your older RUclips videos. So fast speaking!! At least these days we have automatic CC.
I will protect Kenji with my life. Great job! It takes moxxy to do what you did!!!
Awesome job!!👏👏 So inspiring and fun to watch^^
Loved this!
Good job, Ryan!

Thanks a lot for your video😊 your so kindness❣️
can anyone help explain a word that i heard around 16:44 ? "...가지고".
it sounds related to "어/아서" but i don't understand the nuance. is it a slang thing?
It's a spoken version of "because" that's similar to the ~서 form. I talk about that here: ruclips.net/video/EWWYaoQl7AA/видео.html
@@GoBillyKorean thank you so much! I've been looking for a vid on this for the longest time 😭😍

Unfortunately I wouldn't be able to do that due to copyright issues.
@@GoBillyKorean oh does the copyright also extend to just reading the lyrics out?
@@khaimapostol962 Yes, the lyrics are copyrighted.
Amazing, both Ryan and Kenji 😁👏 ive been learning for over a year and im no where near as Kenji is😅😅
Props Kenji. I’ve been lazily learning Korean for 10 years, lived in korea for 7 years… I still get nervous to speak it. :)
Maybe in a year I will send in a video 👁👄👁 Love these videos and your channel in general. Love the books you made as well!
Shout out to Kenji man. Takes alot of courage to record something you've only been learning for a month and a 1/2.
15:58 That sounded so similar to the recorded voice of the IPA chart to the point that I thought you're the one who recorded the vowel pronunciation for the chart. 😆
Here!
New subscriber here. Thanks to Kristel Fulgar for the recommendation. 👍
By the way Billy, in English it's I've been studying Korean for 3 yrs ...not since 3 yrs ( I taught English as a substitute)
Are you referring to a specific part of this video?
I want to leave a comment to Ryan and Kenji both.
I'm not an English speaker so my English is not good.
Please be understanding of that.

Would this be ok to use?
Yes, it's fine.
@@GoBillyKorean Thank you!
Annyeonghaseo, newbie here
Good job 😊🙂😍
these videos make me feel so stupid since i'm learning korean so slowly hahah
Nah, everyone learns differently - not just at different speeds but in different ways. It's better to compare yourself to yourself in the past, and not to others who are learning a completely different way than you might be.
Almost korean 👍 👍
I'm..new here 안녕..
I'm not advanced, but I wonder if I can try and send you my recording? Pleaaaase
