I have a question Could looking at the colour have an effect on what you're tasting ? kinda like how jelly beans or any other multi coloured candy taste the same but you prefer certain colours because you think they taste better
When I saw it in the store, I assumed it was grape flavored when I picked it up, but saw it was "zero sugar" and immediately put it back, so I'm interested to hear what it tastes like.
Thank you for trying this one out... I have a complete taste aversion to every sugar alternative that gets used in these drinks, and it seems like they ONLY do this one in zero sugar.
They probably didn't steal the flavour profile. I've seen Fanta bloodorange in the store before (in The Netherlands). I don't know how recent though, which means it's at least a couple of years ago when I was looking for my nostalgic flavour: Fanta Pomelo. It's a shame the one with actual sugar is no longer being sold because I don't like the artificial sweeteners they put in (both the flavour and they trigger migraines). Anyway, that flavour is possibly 10 years old. The Pomelo flavour I was looking for is about 15-20 years old so it fits that it would've released a bit later.

They are doing this in Australia at the moment although it is a different colour and flavour. It is a light purple colour but I’m not sure of the flavour as I haven’t drunk one. Might be worth looking at if you can get your hands on one.
I tasted this year’s VooDew and COULDNT FIGURE IT OUT FOR THE LIFE OF ME. It tasted so familiar and was pretty good, but I couldn’t place the taste. I never would have guessed it was cherry airhead. But that explains why I liked it and couldn’t place the flavor since I wasn’t a huge airhead fan but cherry was my favorite flavor airhead.

Could looking at the colour have an effect on what you're tasting ?
kinda like how jelly beans or any other multi coloured candy taste the same but you prefer certain colours because you think they taste better
Yeah, he’s done tests on things like that on this channel. The consensus is there is absolutely a correlation.
@@Possibly_Olivia Thanks
That is actually my preferred flavour of San Pellegrino 😅 Very much sold in Canada at big box stores - not limited edition or anything
Next year I would 100% watch a VooDoo flavor guess in September and a Fanta mystery flavor guess in October
When I saw it in the store, I assumed it was grape flavored when I picked it up, but saw it was "zero sugar" and immediately put it back, so I'm interested to hear what it tastes like.
its healthier
@@TessaToby yeah, but a lot of folks are allergic to the substitute
Thank you for trying this one out... I have a complete taste aversion to every sugar alternative that gets used in these drinks, and it seems like they ONLY do this one in zero sugar.
This annoys so much, I'd like to try all these flavours, but they're all zero sugar which tastes horrible to me.
This. I can't help but feel some of the taste aversion, like comparing it to Diet Coke, came about because it's zero sugar.
man it must be nice to be on team theorist, getting paid to drink soda
Fanta has been doing mystery flavours in the UK for at least a decade. I remember them doing it when I was 15ish and i'm 28 now.
Food Theory Idea: Which is the most important meal of the day? (Totally biased opinion: Dinner is the most important.)
I actually really enjoyed the mystery flavor, I drank a lot of it at the movie theatre, more than I would like to say.
7:00 I have to agree with Jason But I'm going one step further diet Coke doesn't just taste horrible BUT ITS ALSO POISON
this video is going on my watch-over-again-next-year list for sure
it tasted like a subtle raspberry, overly sweet but thats literally anything at this point. FACTS!!!
MatPat is the only one to try 100+ drinks and foods, without anything happening to him
don't forget the tree!
5:14 dude turned into JelloApocalypse describing drinks
14:09 it’s also in Ireland haha both of them cherry and kola
Hey mat I just wanted to say I appreciate you guys! I love game theory, film theory, style theory, and food theory! You guys are doing great!
You guys should do a video on what makes movie theatre popcorn so good
14:34 No way, you cant make that tv static taste good
Talking about American food and drink ingredients is always like doing a chemistry lesson.
Commenting this in 2024, the actual flavor was…..Apple pie….. crazy ik😅❤
Loved this episode tho
The soda at that you mentioned at the end of the vid TASTES SO GOOD, ive had it before
But I haven’t had the Fanta yet, so if I can see what the Fanta tastes like I’m gonna compare the two
Not sure if this would be a good idea for a video- I always wonder how seemingly random snacks make as the main airline snacks. For example how it went from simple pretzels and peanuts to specifically lotus biscoff cookies or quinoa chocolates (that was new to me on my last flight). I can’t help but wonder why and how those agreements are reached between airlines and the companies that produce those snacks. Would love to see a video on your take
It’s a good day when Matpat uploads
I didnt see anyone else mention it but the mystery flavor is available in its non-zero sugar form from the coke freestyle machines
Santi becoming more involved with food theory episodes is such a blessing
I like how they said “its food theory time” and proceeded to theorise all over the place
That's not even funny
Ik
it still is clearly food theory he brings all the other stuff up bc it has to do with the drink itself
Did they ever actually officially reveal the flavor? I’m not seeing it
3:42 Vantablack reminds me of the band Vickeblanka
In Australia we have a bright purple coloured mystery Fanta in stores at the moment!
That sanpellegrino is delicious. Might taste different as it actually uses juice. Would love to see a react to it!
i think jason might be sensitive to aspartame, so any "zero sugar" soda would tatse bad to him. they leave a kinda soapy aftertaste in my mouth too
So any other QR code is immediately scanned but one on a can isn’t usually scanned? Well now we all know how to keep matpat from being the first to solve our ARGs.
Didn't see a QR code
The airup Kola flavor truly put a smile on Mat's face 💀
One thing you missed was the game on the website in which you can collect clues. The three were the word rustic, a snowflake, and a flower. I actually think they further support your theory though, especially if the oranges grow in winter.
12:28 as an italian i love matpat speaking italian
for the record i would love a licorice flavored soda
Same, I will not stand for this slander!
You can sort of make your own if you mix Jagermeister and club soda. Fentiman's also sells a Burdock and Dandelion soda that gives a licorice vibe, although it reminds me a bit more of cough syrup than licorice outright.
I think if it had real licorice theyd need to put a warning though due to the whole risk of death by over consumption of licorice.
Just drink salt water
Try missing absinthe and root beer, it's delicious!
