I'm glad to hear you're finding the aviation videos helpful! The only time you’ll be away from your Training Center is when you go on Crew after getting you instrument rating and ATP pays for the hotels and Ubers.
@@JahmalthepilotQuick question, you mentioned written exams you wished you did before ATP! What are all exams written or otherwise you can do before you enter ATP?

Thanks man, study hard it will all come together. Your ground knowledge is the foundation and it's extremely important. Best of luck on your pilot journey my friend!
Thank you for all of this info man. It truly is helpful. I am thinking about doing the program and paying put of pocket. I am willing to go to any flying school as long as it’s an accelerated program. If you were in my position, would you take the same route or would you have gone about it differently. The main reason that draws me to ATP is the fact that you have a really good chance of getting a job as a CFI and that allows you to build your hours quite quickly. There are other programs like the one that blue line aviation that take you 6 months and a half to complete but there is no guarantee of a CFI position. Any thoughts on this?
I’m glad I could help! I honestly thank all accelerated program aren’t much different. ATP doesn’t always guarantee you a CFI job either. Many graduates of the program get put on a waiting list for months. The best thing about ATP is that they have locations everywhere, but I wouldn’t necessarily say they’re the best flight school. Blue line might be better. I would recommend looking more into pricing, aircraft availability, and DPE access rather than the length of the program because that will always be longer than what any flight school tells you, it’s just marketing.
@@Jahmalthepilot Good to know. Do you know why many get put on a waiting list? And more importantly, how long do they have to wait before they can get the job?
FAA Airmen Knowledge Test 1. PAR - Private Pilot Airplane 2. IRA - Instrument Rating Airplane 3. CAX - Commercial Pilot Airplane 4. FIA - Flight Instructor Airplane 5. FOI - Fundamentals of Instruction 6. FII - Flight Instructor Instrument Airplane I recommend taking the IRA and FII at the same time or a few days apart. For your PAR study using Gleim, Sporty's, or King's School all are great. For the rest use Sheppard Air.
Would you recommend spending a few years saving up enough money to pay for the program and living expenses rather than taking out a loan? I’m 24 and have a family of 4. It would take me around 5 years to save up enough, but I know this is what I want to do. I’m currently a professional truck driver and make enough money to save around $30-40,000 per year. Thankyou for your time and congratulations. Respectfully, Chris
This is what I'm doing. Also making about 40k net. I paid my way through my private doing 1-2 lessons/week and passed first try with 60 hours tt and it took a year and about $9k. Trying to save up $10k-ish and then get through my instrument in like a month. My advice: get all your ground out of the way. Do your written and studying before you start whatever license/rating you're going for. Saving up will be tough but worth it. See you in the skies 🤙🏼
Think about this, the longer you wait, the more money you forfeit on the back end of your career, so every year you wait, you give up $400,000-$500,000 PER YEAR. Seniority is king in Aviation. That’s millions in Net income just gone. The loan is worth it, if you can SEE IT THROUGH. You will see it through!!
Definitely! If you have the means to pay out of pocket I say do it. I don’t think you’ll have a problem with that at all. Being able to put away 30-40k a year is honestly extremely good especially at 24 years old. My instructor paid out of pocket, and he has zero debt from ATP. Personally I just wasn’t making enough money to do that. It would’ve taken me like 5-10 years to pay out of pocket and I really wanted to get in the industry ASAP, so taking out a loan was the fastest option.
Search online for a "loan calculator". You'll see that a $120,000 loan is dramatically more dibilitating than a $50,000 loan. So, if you do want to save some money to put towards education, don't think you need to save > %100 of the cost.
@@jeramydavin4061 I 100% agree with you my man! You always have to stay ahead of the game whether you're at a mom n pop or ATP. Enjoy instrument training dude, that was my favorite one so far 🌥️

@@chriscappy6540 Pretty much all of it. They charge the 75k in two payments which they already did. The checkrides and written exams aren’t included.
