I have most of these helmets, great list. The one that really surprised me out of all these when I wore it was the Gringo SV... for the price the comfort is just amazing, I really was blown away. Slap on the mirrored silver visor and it's a game changer, I find myself wearing it more than my Hedon lol

Another good suggestion on the level of the Arai Tour X5 would be the Nexx X.Wed 3:
3 modes in 1: adventure, tour or street (has covers for the visor mounts if you want to replace it with googles. It also has a google strap in the back.) Peak is mounted in dedicated bolts instead of being attached to the visor mounts. 7 air intakes and 4 air exhaust ports and a wide angle view. Also has the option to install dedicated comms by sena. It comes with dedicated camera mounts (chin, side and top of the peak) for those who like to capture their rides. Overall is a very versatile helmet with an agressive look. Available in carbon fiber options as well

Surprised to see the Arai tipped as the quietest. In my experience, it whistles with the shield up at city speeds, and it's stupid loud at highway speeds even with everything shut.

With all due respect, perhaps some people commenting should try the helmets first... Here's my review of the Hedon Heroine Racer:
The helmet is extremely comfortable and offers a great field of vision, thus adding to safety. It is also the lightest helmet I've ever had, which makes it easy for the neck to ride all day long (I just completed a journey of 6000 km around Ireland and France, riding an average of 300 km a day).
The quality and durability of the materials are extraordinary. This is not a helmet for just "cafe racing posers »; it can be used for long trips with me repeatedly putting it on/taking it off (as a landscape photographer, I do this a lot, often dozens of times a day). It's also very easy to remove the visor to clean the inside of the visor (I often ride with the visor open).
Finally, the helmet is beautiful, with many people praising its looks, weight, and the high quality of the materials. Is this important? Of course it is!
For info, most of my previous helmets were Arai and Shoei.
I’m not in any way affiliated with Hedon.
    I hope this helps!

does the price, for helmets in this list or between helmets by well renowned brands, influence the safety of a helmet? I mean generally speaking, a 250£ helmets is as safe as a 700£ one?

I picked up an Arai Corsair X. Nice helmet, super comfortable. After two seasons the interior padding is like new. My trouble with the helmet is some of the plastic vent bits and the visor broke. I'm guessing that I'll need to replace the visor every couple of years but other pieces like the mouth vent cover is probably unavailable. In a couple of years I will probably have to replace the helmet anyway, always fun to shop for something new. I just wish that they weren't so expensive.

Wouldn't consider any of these helmets the best. There are other helmets in each category that do better in price, ventilation, and safety. These all look like a twist of some retro variant except for the neotec.

So disappointing…not you guys which are totally cool. The Arai XD4 outperformed the 5 in every category. Watching you put on the xd5 in European weather and watching it fog immediately is disheartening for an Arai fan in the states.
