Hogue and Swenson were the gentlemen who began the ambidextrous safeties. Thats a fine looking firearm. My Uncle had a Pachmayr Special. I grew up shooting it with him, along with his other stuff.
Three minutes is what our reporting software said, but we think that's probably because it took three minutes for the software to process that high influx of orders at one time.
Rick Rude was Simply Ravishing and was the man. Great Video Eli, and a 100% homerun on these pistols! The Pachmyr special is still to this day the Coolest 1911 ever made. I have a Series ‘80 COLT that is a two tone job (Blued slide, Hard Chrome frame and small parts) that was absolutely influenced by the Pachmyr Special. Love what you guys are doing!
This is an awesome gun (even gangster) and i love your content! You make great videos. Very informative and entertaining. I might use this 1911 as inspiration for my current gbb build lol.
To this day, I kick myself in the ass for not listening my gunsmith, when he told me I should buy the Pachmayr Combat Special he had for sale in his gun cabinet. I didn't know a lot about 1911's back then. All I saw when he showed it to me, was an old gun. A very expensive old gun; even with the layaway terms he generously offered me. At that time, I thought my Colt Rail Gun was the end all, when it came to 1911's; and I foolishly declined his offer. By the time I learned about that gun's legacy, it had been sold.
Hog wash, it was called practical shooting, I started in IPSC in the 70s. Hoag Mastergrades were always more popular than Pachmeyers. I IPSC we rarely saw a Pachmeyer
Well, tell Mr. Rob that KnifeMaker is very impressed! Ya know, everytime now days that someone comes out with a square trigger guard, people go crazy complaining about it. Personally I've always loved them. When Springfield came out with the square trigger guard on the Emissary there was much wailing and gnashing of teeth. Oddly enough, the in thing today as you know is the 2011 style guns. Every one of them has the square trigger guard with only a few exceptions. Yet not one single time have heard a complaint about it. Or on glocks for that matter. I still to this day use the old style of my index finger on the front of the trigger guard and although it is taboo today, Mitchuelic's daughter used the technique to great effect. Nuff said! Well Done Mr. Rob and Team!!! ;
Helpful hint bordering on herrisay! No self respecting 1911 conosur is going to like this, however by pure accident, I found holsters aplenty to fit both 1911's and 2011's both with and without rails but all with squared trigger guards. It turns out that glock holsters fit them perfectly. Just don't let your friends see the back of the holster to learn it is the dreaded Plastic Fantastic gear. LOL!!! It's our secret!!! And the ONLY use I have for a Glock! KnifeMaker
This gun is absolutely beautiful in every sense of the word. First off, thanks for explaining the backstory on the ring hammers and square trigger guards. I had been wondering what the big deal was about them. Second, nice ‘stache!! Haha. 3) I don’t believe a single word you’ve said. You can go ahead and send me one to try out and I’ll let you know how it is! Lol. All joking aside, I love what ACW does to a 1911. It’s a perfectly functioning work of art.
A lot us back in the late 80's sent our out of the box colts to them for that package. You could buy a full size 5" colt government model for around 425.00. With upgrades your looking at about 1,200 to 1,400. Still have mine, got offered 3,500 and I said, nice try.
"Rick Rude Mustache"....heh yeah I know who he was...when "tV wrestling" was worth watching...WWF in it's prime....vs now in 2023. Surprised there are people in the audience. :) And I was thinking "70's porn star" :)) Chika CHIKA wa WAAA!! :)) Bring back the gun in 2024....upgrade it with some never before seen pars like e.g. crbon fibre grips, silver or gold dot fronts, NO RDS support, use some titanium parts....Keep it traditional (no fibre optics....down-swept beaver tail... Any plans for a COMP'd 1911? something along the lines of a Nighthawk Firehawk....but of course with your workmanship....'extgra attn to detail'...heh...
An incredible homage, pays perfect tribute while retaining that Alchemy flair. Fantastic job all around here 🔥🔥
Thank you!
That gun is genius, and it pulls at the heart strings of this 80’s kid. Well done.
Thank you! I'm not an 80's kid (circa 1998), but I like to think I would've loved the 80's.

Hermosa arma!!! 1911 the best!!! Saludos 🇦🇷🎄
I'm sure all 25 have long since been spoken for. Please bring it back next ear ...making it a regular part of your line-up. :)
Waiting for that 10mm commander sized 1911 to come about .
don't hold your breath.

Another classic! I dig the roll marks "Restomod Series".
These are a favorite of mine as well... Wait 'till yall see the next Limited Edition.
I dig it
Swanson was the one to have!
Thats awesome, me like alot.
Correction, Swenson!
How did you get those pachmayr grips?
I would like if it had front slide serrations. Good looking pistol!
Should of came up with an original name. Maybe something along the lines of "THE FUDD SPECIAL"
1980s 'stache.
It was necessary.
These guns have nothing on that mustache.
