@@alchemy1911if I ordered a prime and after I paid the deposit could I make small payments along the way? Or would I have to make the final payment all at once? Jason
I come from an era when high polish, deep blue Colts and Smith & Wessons were the norm. They almost looked wet with that deep blue. Now, it’s hard to find any manufacturer making one. I understand why, the man hours that go into the polishing process could be extensive. You almost have to go custom. Great channel sir, love the info.
Nice video Eli. This was the hardest decision for me. I love the look of a worn blued 1911 but also like a 2-tone. Because of you I am starting to like the look of a ring hammer now.
@@alchemy1911 please offer the hard fit option again. That's the only reason I have not ordered one yet. I need hard fit I shoot over 8000 per year through 1911s. I have several full customs.
@@alchemy1911 That's a shame as it is the major thing that set Alchemy apart from so many want to be's. Mr. Rob learned it from Mr. Les Baer Himself I have a Hard Fit from Mr. Les Baer and it is unreal in accuracy and smoothness. Still tight after thousands of rounds. Every 1911 owner who touches it much less shoots it for the first time is amazed by it. It is what put Alchemy on my Radar. Without it, just another semi custom! KnifeMaker
watch 'The Wild Bunch' greatest western ever it correctly pointed out that the 'wild west' went clear into say 1920. The movie takes place around 1917. SAA... Winchester lever guns and 1997 shotguns along with browning machine guns... you name it. 1903's in 30 ought six... Real end of era movie.
Heck yea... loved the up close on all of the finishes 👌 The charcoal blue is the one that speaks to me. I can't wait till yall sell them again. Sad i didn't get to see it 😭
We bead blasted all training handguns at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center fir two reasons. They are: Very easy to refinish and that finish holds lubricant / protectant better than a polished finish.
DLC Interest. Howdy Eli. For the past 20 years I have conceal carry a 1911 SA Champion, .45 ACP with a 4.25” stainless factory bull barrel and I love this gun. I live in southern Louisiana “the swamps” so you can imagine the very high humidity we have here. I have a lot of holster wear mainly on the slide and frame. I am very interested in the DLC finish. I do not care for a flashy high visibility finish. Can the DLC come in a more matte like finish? What would be the price to have my pistol finished with DLC? Do you ever come to any of the Gonzales Louisiana Gun Shows?
I have been refinishing some pistols using kg gunkote bake on products and the results have been nothing short of amazing, its some tough stuff i tell you, i dont think i will be switching to other products as this stuff is outstanding.
i bought a re finished 1942 colt 1911a1 for 300$ and i got lucky! the gun shop guy told me it was practically worthless, it came with a shoe box containing all of what turned out to be its original internals, trigger barrel bushing a micro adj rear sight and 3 two toned mags..it had ben hard fitted with a colt contract nm barrel and bushings and some of the small parts including the sights and trigger wer custom made as after market parts weren't a thing yet. it had ben fully customized honed and fitted by the aamu for the national match at camp perry. and who ever polished and blued the gun was a master at their craft as it looks like a very early colt, polished and charcoal blued witch has worn to perfection since ive owned it, the small parts wer fire blued like the early guns wer before their dull brushed blue took over. dose this sound like its practically worthless now? i sold the 3 two toned mags and made back my 300$! thank god for collectors right? i cant even imagine what that custom work would cost today? a small fortune is my guess.
bead blast anything? naa... high polish anything....I offer you my 1969 Colt Python as an example.. Bright nickel... best of the best. I even learned how to nickel plate at home and my Colt clones of the cap and ball revolvers are nickel/color case combos. They are practice for my DA revolvers and SAA models LOL... next up in my home nickel plate is a early model 19 target (yeah they actually made em!) mine has almost no finish left so not 'ruining' a historical gun. I once put a small block chevy and muncie 4 speed in a 1955 Healey. I was told constanly how I ruined a 'classic' car buy those with too much estrogen (just a guess on that last) but.... I pulled the frrigging thing from a wrecking yard where it was destined to be melted down and turned into a toyota. so you do the math. My 74 Chevy C10 pickup is lowered and has all late model (computer) LS drivetrain... but for some reason everyone is happy about that I get their 'approval' LOL... as if I care right? Maybe they just feel sorry for 'the old guy' One time a young guy offered to kick start my 52 panhead for me after I kicked it 20 times (the thing could be stubborn)... he couldn't even kick it.. had no clue. These days even finding a kid that can drive a stick is rare... uh oh.. I did the old guy wander off thing again didn't I ?
Awsome info thanks, two-toned is my girl she will be on order soon. Full size blued no question, it's just right. Commander either way, but brimstone.......twotone so sexy!
Blued is the go to for most and I loved my blued Prime Elite. But the Hard Chrome frame and small parts with blued slide PE was awesome. Probably going with another 2-tone or a all HC on the next one.
12:19 just say man, stop beating around the bush, you clearly showcase alchemy has standards. We need more men to project that. How is anyone going to model after someone if they don’t know right from wrong.
Polished chrome, with a Floral engraved slide, and a white ivory grip, and silver colt medallion.
I go a bit farther... real bright nickel with ivory or stag.
How can you not like this guy? Genuine and gangster. Keep it up bud.
Thank you so much!
Reminds me of Zach Galifianakis in Masterminds, only not a gay liberal.
When Hard Chrome is done correctly, it looks amazing.
I absolutely love my bead blued Quantico single stack! Also, the flips between Appalachian hillbilly and GenZ dialect are great!
Thank you, sir!

Good tip on cleaning under grips.
Love the two-tone 1911 look
It is such a gorgeous look!

Ring hammer and two tone ! That’s the way a 1911 need to be !
Couldn't agree more!

My goal in life is to convert all the followers of Browning to ring hammers.
I ordered a Quantico hicap today in hard chrome after seeing your compact in a different light.
Awesome! We'll be in touch Monday!
That matte hard chrome/ ivory grip combo is absolutely stunning. Not a pistol on that table that can touch that appearance dear lord
Great video, love the finishes. Can’t Wait to get my Quantico
The deep beautiful blue on old Smiths and Colts is a thing of the past. Can we blame this on the EPA and the government ?
I hate to burst your Bubble Eli (Yount'un but Vibe is from the 60's. ;
What a phenomenal video for only 5.7k views. I gotta get my hands on one of these 1911's and do a review on it!
I have a Prime Elite HC frame, polished blue slide, hard fit gun.....it's pretty sweet.
Definitely sweet!

Can you get the Quantico Hi Cap in polished blue?
Not really... We can polish the slide, but we can't polish the frame. The geometry of the frame makes it difficult to polish evenly.
21:55 can you give me a reason why no one want to do a DLC on a polished surface
?
absolutely! So, I'm no metallurgist, but it has to do with us using carbon steel. The polish will become "cloudy" when DLC'd, which we do not want.

That's what we like to hear!
Could you get away with never oiling the hard chrome finish ? Could it survive by only wiping it down ?
What grips are on that matte hard chrome?
American Holly!
Can you get a prime in bead blast blue? Asking for a friend…
yup!
Tingle in the dingle 😂 Keep up the great work, Eli. We appreciate you.

Why no Charcoal Blue?
We filmed this video before we reintroduced the charcoal blue gun. It's available now.
Yep NC is a sweat pit in the summer muggy as fuck
It's a shame you can't get the Quantico HiCap polished and blued. It's still by far the most beautiful 2011

Some gun people have totally gone fashonistic
I don’t Even know what that means
This is all awesome and y’all make beautiful guns but I’m trying to get me a bald eagle protein shake and some steroid fortified bacon. Any help
