      Yeah I definitely disagree with what she's saying when it comes to difficulty mode. Only have to look at what happened to Ninja gaiden when they dumbed it down because people were saying it was too hard. They ended up ruining the game. Yes myself playing the game I got a lot of dog ninja cuz I wasn't very good at it but at least the gameplay was fun. But as soon as they change the gameplay and dumped it down for regular players it ruined the game and it was never the same.

    • @paulhenri210
      @paulhenri210 Месяц назад

      The truth is is that I was never really a soul's game player It's not that I didn't like the difficulty it's just that you ended up being taken all the way to the beginning of the chapter which was real pain in the ass. This is why I liked Alvin ring cuz it left you pretty close to where you died so you didn't have to backtrack so much. And for the 30 years that I've been playing video games I actually have to say my most favorite game is Eldon ring I had more fun more enjoyment playing that game than any other. Yes it was a pain in the ass for some of the bosses especially the bone dragon Oh my gosh that was a pain in the ass in elden ring. I must have died 50 times trying to kill that boss.

      Man this is how everyone should play games to be honest. Ive been stuck on the final boss for 3 days now, but I made an oath not to use summons or shields because I want that feeling of overcoming a challange. Everyday for an hour I hop on and try my hand at the boss. I die, I learn, I come back. I die, I learn, I come back. Eventually, I learn enough to get the boss HP bar down just a little further. Yesterday I got it down to 1/8. The boss was 2 hit. And despite dying to this boss probably tens of times now, I never raged out or got angry. I simply put the controller down and came back later. And funnily enough, when I eventually *do* come back to try again, thats when I get my best attempts. People will sit there for days and bash their head against the wall, they would neglect everything else in their life and wonder why they cant win. The problem is that they simply take the game too seriously and need to fix their priorities.

Situational disabilities are very common, and people often don't consider them to be disabilities because they can happen multiple times a day."

    Also, I'm pretty sure there's a video of a disabled person beating Malenia using exclusively voice controls. So if someone wants it bad enough, they can do it. They don't need a toggle, they need dedication. Stuff like font and colorblind modes are fine, but once you start having these things directly interact with gameplay, you've made a mistake.

    I’m personally a fan of just having a literal “pause” button, akin to the Silent Hill PS2 games. It just freezes the game - you can’t access the menus, you can’t change settings, it’s literally just there to freeze the game at that moment in time. Means ppl can take care of something urgent if needed and pause their game, without it resulting in neutering the difficulty

  • @pawkeshup

    I beat all the souls games as my kids grew up. I was never handicapped by them. Did I have to put the controller down and get merc'd a few times to be a parent? Yes. Did I need a pause function to stop that? No. It's a fucking video game. It ain't that serious. You just pick yourself back up, dust yourself off when you have more time to get back to it, and just take the momentary loss of progress.
    Confusing idiocy like a broken wrist or a kid with people who have actual disabilities, who truly need options to enjoy the media they want, is infuriating. Like Alex said, she prattles on forever and never gets to anything close to a point outside of a "screen of shame" sort of thing. The game is fine, but I 100% agree that it needs actual accessibility like font size control and color blind modes for those that need them. Hell my eyes are slowly getting worse so I'd appreciate a means to make the CC a bit more visible.
