Sony refuses to port Bloodborne to PC because they are saving it for the PS6 launch. Sony stupidly thinks it will convince PC gamers to buy a console. It's the same reason they refuse to port the Demon Souls remake to PC. Sony stupidly thinks it will convince PC users to buy a PS5.
They're not smart because they want pc player to come on console but they drop their ps exclusive so why people will buy bloodborne if they just have to wait to sony drop it on pc

Bloodborne is the only exclusive PS has that I'm actually interested in, but that 1 fucking game is not nearly enough to make me buy it. No way I'm paying nearly 600 euros just to play 1 game, even if it's good. I'll just stick to Dark Souls 3 and Elden Ring instead.

Bloodborne and funded them. Sony didn’t have faith in the original Demon Souls’ success and only gave a shit about exclusivity when the games were doing good. Souls-bornes were never a Sony brand because they never had faith in it to begin with.

The Lego Horizon will probably be better than the other Horizon games. The Lego games are actually quite popular. Not so sure they would outsell a Bloodborne remaster, but that's because the thirst for a Bloodborne remaster or remake would drive it to sell probably even more than the original.
Bloodborne was a financial flop Sony didn't make money from it originally and that's why they're not interested... it sold 2 million full price copies and didn't blow up for years after release... I got it for 9.99 and of the 7 million copies sold 3 million were given away on ps plus... that's why you get a receipt when you take a free game it's counted as a sale... it's the exact reason they won't make days gone 2 despite it "selling" 10 million copies

SONY has this awful culture of creating great IPs and just sitting on its corpse as they get lost to time, I have an XBOX/PC and all of Level-5 non SONY IPs are available on all platforms now, yet their most popular games (Dark Cloud/Rogue Galaxy) are locked in the SONY IP dungeon 😭
Imagine being a little pony supporting a corporation holding their IPs so hostage, that speaking of PC ports gets you in actual trouble. If I ever play a Pony game again, (which I rarely ever did anyway) it'll always be pirated. They can join Nintendo on my list :)

People think I must be an Xbox fanboy because of how often I criticize Sony, but no... I've just become very anti-Sony this generation.
If anything, I'm a former Nintendo fanboy (if my pfp didn't give that away), am now PC-only, and have zero Xbox consoles. But Sony has been responsible for so many shitty practices this gen that I can't help but root for the competition to take them down a peg, even if it's Microsoft.
Bloodborne should've been on PC ages ago. At least MS puts all their stuff on PC day & date, often giving you a PC/Xbox copy free if you buy on one platform or the other. But Sony wants to drag their feet, hold games hostage, pretend they'll convince PC gamers to buy a PS5 for a handful of games, and doesn't even pretend to care about preserving their own library.
I kinda am too! I’ve been a Sony guy my entire life played PlayStation one when I was a little kid all the way up to PS5 and it was this generation that made me switch to PC. don’t give me wrong. The PS5 system itself is absolutely amazing but they just haven’t done anything with it. General business practices lately is a let down too

He should have every right to do whatever he wants with it. Especially after this long and seeing that Sony is going to do absolutely nothing with it and just let it disappear into the old hardware. He should be able to fully take all rights back on it and do whatever he wants with it

I think this more just confirms my suspicion that Sony is saving a remake for the PS6 like they did with Demon Souls for the PS5. They fully know they have a super easy success on their hands and they know it will sell well. They are using it as a get out of jail free card because you know damn well ppl will buy a PS6 for Bloodborne even if that is the only game they buy the console for. I played Bloodborne on PS4. Bloodborne was one of the main reasons I got a PS4 instead of an XBone. They've already got their money out of me AND MORE because I bought the friggin' console it was on. And I will STILL GIVE THEM MORE MONEY if they put Bloodborne on PC, because I love the game and would love to play it on an objectively better platform that will give me stuff like graphics options.
There is no legitimate business reason to not put Bloodborne on PC because the diehard Playstation fanboys will stay on Playstation because they're silly, the PC community would love it, and both Sony and Fromsoft would make oodles of money out of a relatively minimal investment of time and effort. What the hell, Sony?

That platform has literally nothing else I'd be interested in. PC in general has better selection of games to choose from and it's not hard to find a game from indie devs or in general smaller game studios that is just as good, but no big IP behind it. But a game like Bloodborne is different, I've yet to see an indie studio make a Fromsoftware kind of game nearly as good. But at least we've got plenty of other souls games to play so whatever, can easily wait another 10 years if that is what it takes.

@@icebox1954 this logic only tracks until you consider how huge the PC market is compared to consoles - something like 55mil total PS5s sold compared to 1.8bil (with a B) PC gamers. Cutting yourself off from a market that's potentially over 30 times the size of your current market is a dumb business decision, even if you have more control over your current market. Especially with a digital good / software since there's no need for manufacturing costs per unit.

Honestly, I've found in my many years of observing all cultures of gamers that Xbox [users] are just fanboys who want to see the brand succeed. They don't care how or why, even if it means giving their exclusives to PC and even PlayStation. PlayStation players are more than fanboys; I often think of them as a cult. They would rather see the world burn than have anything any other way than PlayStation on top. PC users think of themselves as a class above any other gamers, though this often leads to them also arguing in hardware wars like the old days of PS3 and Xbox 360. Often, they will talk about how console players argue over plastic boxes, but a PC player will argue over a metal case. Same difference.

@spacedaniel492 The argument over "metal cases" is the same as the way console players argue over "plastic boxes" in the sense that it obviously has nothing to do with the plastic box or metal case, but rather the brands and hardware inside. Mostly with PCs, obviously anyone with a Nvidia GPU thinks they are better than anyone with an AMD GPU. The same goes for CPUs and pretty much everything else put inside the PC.
Edit: If you missed the point again, I'm making. A way simpler way of putting it is that PC users also have brand loyalty.

The fact Sony owns the code and not Fromsoft is a bit puzzling. Fromsoft developed the thing so it should be their decision. PS4 exclusivity is over with, either release the thing or just come out and say no we aren't releasing it. Then it will shut people up about it and we can move on.
It's not that fromsoft doesn't have access to the code. sony paid fromsoft to create bloodborne for them. Sony owns the intellectual property and can sue them for selling or distributing their game without their consent

I am a souls fan, and I would choose PC over my old console any day of the year because at the end of the day it just plays better, and I can have my own music going in the background when fighting the regular mobs of enemies or even have RUclips videos going in the background. More people would be willing to pay 60 dollars for a remaster or port of Bloodborne to Steam, than the number of people who would dish out the money for a Sony console to play the same game. Yet Sony seems to not understand this, yet foolishly and selfishly thinks they will make more money by having console sales. Think about it, pay anywhere from the price for a used PS4 all the way up to a new PS5, PLUS the money to buy the game. OR, pay 60 dollars for an enhanced and BETTER experience of the same game, available on your PC.
Sony does not want some money, they want ALL the money. They want more people locked into their hardware and their ecosystem. They want more Playstation fanboys.

The PS5 only has 3 good exclusives games. Bloodborne, infamous second son and demon souls remake. Fanboys are angry because porting bloodborne to PC will quite literally remove a third of the reasoning to buy a PS5. And thats coming from someone who owns a ps5 specifically for these games

Sony doesn't want Bloodborne on PC because it will sell more than on their console. They know it. It's a question of pride and the fact that nobody, not even one studio will ever do an exclusive for Sony consoles after that. They're scared. Because why selling on your console if it doesn't sell like it should because majority of people play COD and GTA and not even your exclusives.
So the sole reason a Bloodborne PC remaster isn't even talked about is because Sony has the business and legal equivalent of a hand cannon pressed to Miyazaki's skull. And they are doing it because they figure they can sell a PS4 with every copy of Bloodborne this way. *sigh* Ok Sony, why would I drop $140 for one legendary game and a glorified paperweight?

Sony has 2 choices;
A: Don't release the game while Emulators make Bloodborne playable as they did for Demon's Souls then complain their loosing money from piracy and take down Rom sites yielding no financial gain even from lawsuits due to the defendants claiming bankruptcy on settlements while your customers hate your company.
B: Release Bloodborne for PC with no Sony account linking and make millions in profits garnering millions of satisfied consumers.
Every company has a choice. Nintendon't and SEGA made theirs. I'd wager it's the ladder.

Even though I have a PS5, it doesn't matter because the game still has trash performance. They never patched it to not run like ass. This is the main reason a PC port is needed, although simply doing a compatibility patch for the PS5 would be simpler...yet they can't seem to manage even that.
Makes me wonder if Blue Point has been secretly working on a "Bloodborne Remake" all of this time.

How is it possible for a license NIGHTMARE like Marvel Vs Capcom can get green lit FASTER than PC Bloodborne and most of Nintendo’s classic Library?
Bloodborne is ASTOUNDINGLY peak, it deserves pc, the amount of Fan content for such a great game would be huge. (Lord knows we can’t have such nice fan content for Switch Games on Yuzu anymore because Nintendo is such a pain… that fell on that emulator’s devs of course but still. Only SOME of that was their fault apparently.)
Do we think legal reasons are the main thing keeping Bloodborne from getting brought to PS5 or PC? Aside from Sonys practices it definitely feels like it’s stuck in Lawyer limbo.

That's not even a prediction at this point. God of War Ragnarok and the Until Dawn remake are already confirmed to require a PSN account. There's no way they're going to backpedal at this point.

@@supersaiyaman11589 Yeah that's what I don't get. You can't tell me they doin't have the means or resources to sort that out. It won't please everyone, but what does, but it will make the whole PSN argument going on mellow out substantially. I bought GOT on release and still playing it on PC and it's completely optional to link a PSN account. They don't beat you over the head with it, they don't lock anything but the online componenet, which wasn't even in the game for a long time after launch and is not even close to the reason people are playing it. Especailly single player game PS ports, you never have to engage with a PSN and can play to your hearts content if you want to. If they just sorted out where everyone could buy and play the game regardless of region or PSN access, my bet is people would ease up a hell of a lot if they did that.

If you want to play Bloodborne, you can. Its a playstation 4 game. Play it on there or a PS5. Bloodborne is a Sony asset. They funded it's development to make thier consoles more popular for having it exclusive. Miyazaki would love Bloodborne on PC, why wouldn't he? They might not make much money becuase they dont own the IP, but it keeps Fromsoft relevant and is good publicity. Bloodbourne is also a good introduction to Soulsbourne games so it would be good for business, but it doesnt sell playstations and that is why Bloodborne was created in the first place.
Honestly I'm convinced that no matter how objectively indefensible something is, there is a subsect of people that will defend it for no reason, even if they literally have zero stake in the argument
