People seem to forget that Sony did their market research in Japan years ago and it indicated to them that there was more than enough people who own PC's and WILL NOT buy a PS/console. This is why Sony are releasing their games on PC; not because they desire to sell more consoles, they just know this is a good way to sell more software.
Almost the reason is Sony is watching Xbox putting all their games on PC and making money while Sony hemorrhages money with no new games then add everyone knows PlayStation gamers don’t buy games. The sad thing is Sony is screwing everything up everything regarding putting PS5 hardware and games on PC.

My pc is not as powerful as a ps5 but no way in hell i would trade it for a ps5 or ps6 or 7, a console will never give me the same experience of absolute freedom like a PC does.

6gb ram/2gb vram split is best. not worth it unless you already had one to play with.

This. My PC is weaker than the PS5 but I still prefer it because of the freedom I get on the PC platform compared to consoles, a much larger number of games to choose from and the ability to upgrade it when I decide to do so rather than when a company arbitrarily decides to start a new "generation".

I think it has a lot to do with the graphics andying and the comparison on how their games run on PC. PC gamers do love that "muh graphics are better than your box because we have flexible components". I think pundits-for-a-box feel like they have to make this argument.
They can't seem to accept the fact that console gamers need a warehouse of copium on graphics no matter what. Getting an upgrade for a PC is far more economical than buying a console as a PC has more uses than just gaming.
It's why Nintendo understands the assignment because they know their box is a toy so a toy must offer a different experience when you game on it. Sony lost the advantage of their additional functions when streaming and Smart TVs rendered the ability to do extra things on the Playstation unessential.

@@cypher2365 I think Microsoft is embracing the fact that they're really a software company and less a hardware one nowadays. I still remember Xbox fanboys who quit raging when the Xbox first-party games went date and date on PC. Sony is going to be forced kicking and screaming to do the same with all their titles if and when console sales stagnate even further while PC sales continue to go up.

The vast majority of PS5 owners already don't buy Spider-Man - if they did, they wouldn't be putting them on PC in hopes to actually make a profit on these games. So why does he think PC gamers will spend more money on a second piece of hardware if they can just wait? Makes no sense. These exclusives on the PS4 and PS5 are not must-play games. Only Nintendo even approaches that.
I don't understand how someone could justify the cost of a PS5 to play 1 or 2 games. I don't see how this is sound for Sony. They don't make much if any money on the hardware. You can't expect these users to buy 3rd party games in the PS Store either, because they will still buy them on Steam. So what is Sony really gaining here other than 30% more on a few sales? It's a tough sell, to buy a console to play 1 or 2 games a year early. Makes no sense and I doubt 20-25 percent of people are this dumb.

Im on Xbox. 2 reasons for me to Play on console are Relaxing on the couch and quick Resume. With 30+ years i Play mostly SP Games

A good TV with 144hz is around 2k (65") and another 2.5-3k for the rig is almost 5k to Play the newest Games on high Resolution and FPS.

This doesn't make any sense. Not only are cards 3-4 years old at least on par with the PS5, you can do so much more on a PC.
- Have multiple monitors
- use mouse and keyboard plus any controller
- use yt, browsing, games, etc at the same time
- don't pay for online
- have cheaper games
- can play the same games in actual 4K and even 21:9 resolutions

it's 1.86 billion, and it's not something cause 77% of 1.86 billion = 1.43 billion that would stay at PC, so you should cater to this number and not the 427 million that would buy a ps5.

I had a blast with GT7, Returnal, Demons Souls, GOWR, Stellar Blade, not to mention the classic catalog titles like Patapon and ape escape. Still playing Rise of Ronin. This is someone who has a rig, and Deck. Looking forward to Astrobot.

@@bobjoe5937 honestly a bit saddening. There is a silver lining I believe the next XBOX might be a portable with a powerful inhouse arm chip so there might be very much reason to get it. Shared library features with PC are always a plus.

I just bought my first PC, but I'm still using my XSX, but that's only for right now since I had already paid for the dlc for D2 and I I didn't want to have to buy the last 3 DLCs again. After I finish it though it's basically just gonna be a crunchy roll box for my wife
@@bjones243 I lucked out and bought Final Shape on PC and I got the DLCs for cheap. I bit the bullet and now play D2 at over 165fps across the board. Blows 60fps out of the water.

We have multiple PCs in my home. 1 old laptop for myself and gaming PCs for both my teenage kids. Yet I brought 2 x Xboxes (SS and SX) simply for a cheap lan setup.
Family Gamepass = shared library of games = Instant win
We play 4-6 players forza, minecraft and aoe2/4 when we have guests over. So good.

Also, not to mention that if you buy some games that work with Play Anywhere you'll practically get both versions, for Xbox and for PC. Does this kind of thing work with buying PS games released on PC? Nah, you have to buy 2 copies, because... um... yeah. And let's not forget to buy a slightly "remastered" versions of a not-so-old games, because backwards compatibility doesn't exist or something...

The Ps3 was my last sony console. Move to pc after it decided to get blue light of death. Never felt the need to go back or ever will.
As a personal story, I did in fact buy the PS5 when it launched because at the time upgrading my PC would cost me more than double the price of a PS5 plus a new TV. However, now I deeply regret my decision. PlayStation is a terrible eco system to live in, it's terribly restrictive and games are insanely more expensive. A few years later I ended up upgrading my PC anyway so I could have just waited. And waiting is always the best option here, and I'm sure that's what most PC gamers will do. Those who fall for the console trap will eventually regret it.
Plus you pay to play online, that alone is a big no-no for me.

I regret buying my PS5, i have had it for over a year and i own 3 PS5 games, 98% of my collection is PS4 games, I refuse to buy games at full price and wait till they hit rock bottom. I got a alert the other day on the PS phone app saying its bit a while since Had played a game and to take a look at the store, then i noticed that I haven't turned on the PS5 in over 102 days, there's a big reason that I don't have any interest in this generation, I'm having a better time on PC. I will play GTA6 on PC when it comes out like i have done for GTA3 to GTA5.
I could just use a Dualsense, DualShock 4 or anything else on my PC, and boom...
@NekoPatty06 I don't know if you play on Windows or Linux but DS4windows is amazing. Anyone can get adaptive triggers on every game with controller support with a simple tweak to the triggers. PC is pretty great. Been on it since February 2018.
My stepson has a ps5 and is still waiting for the games to hit pc as the ps5 is collecting dust...and btw the games simply aren't that good Spiderman 2 was awful and ragnarok is a boring slog
I've been on steam for over 14 years. Got over 10,000 games. I'm in Australia so had to import the SteamDeck. I shop at Fanatical & Humble Bundle. Why would I spend $500 + $80-110 per game when I can just wait & get "game of the year" version with all DLC for $40-60. I would rather buy a Radeon RX 7700 XT OC 12GB for $500 that I can use for Meta Quest 2 aswell than a end of life PS5.

I bought a PS4RRO about half a decade ago, because I wanted a Blu-ray player and thought it would be nice to have 2-in-1 machine to hook on the TV in the living room. Then, about a year ago(?) I grabbed an XBOX SeriesX for the same reason, and because the PS4PRO does not play UHD BluRay disks (rendering my extended LoTR trilogy in UHD BluRay package useless).
I barely use either of them since I'm mainly a PC user, with a steam backlog too long for comfort. 😅
No mods. No emulation.
No piracy. Additional bills just to play online?

This stragtegy is working on me, have a rig and a PS5. No loss for those thst can afford it. But there are indeed smarter ways to spend
I bought a PS4 just to play bloodborn and god of war. I didn't play anything else after that. I sold that thing months later. I would never buy a console just for 1 game ever again.

My 1080 from like 2013 still dominates these games. That was 3 PCs ago 😂 never buying a ps.
Pc gamer here have a ps5 and regret buying it it’s sits as a dust collector and media hub. No games have really glued me to the console yet.

Alex I want to thank you for turning me into Gigachad, I’ve been a console gamer my entire life I’ve had every PS and I bought a PS5 and like 3 months later I bought the steam deck… my eyes were opened and I knew what I had to do next I bought a PC rig and ever since the PS5 has been used to charge my mouse and keyboard for my PC rig I will never go back to consoles again.

Being a PC gamer.... I'd rather spend $500 to upgrade my rig.... My son wanted a PS5 to play with his buddies and since then all of them have upgraded to PC so now he has a $500 paperweight on his desk

I love how pro playstation dudes love to tout their games selling well when literally as soon as Sony gets worried their precious triple A games are not selling as well as expected, they bundle the cra[ out of the games in order to sell multiple millions of copies. Spidey 2 literally was a packin for the last 5 months.

the only credible number is those that would stick to PC and wait. buy a ps5 for sequels can be skewed by Sony fanboys.
I've got an old Nvidia 980GTX lying about somewhere, and a AMD 64-something....they must be 20 years old. If I over clock it, I'm sure I could still get better graphics and frame rates than a PS5.

Here his the biggest demerit to his argument that he didn't even seem to consider. A portion of PC players were on console last gen or during the 360/PS3 era, why would they switch back to getting a bare-bones experience on the PS5 after years of being on the PC.
Yup this was me. I been pretty much a console player my whole life except whatever family computer I had at the time that could run potato games. I decided against these consoles this cycle because I just found it not worth it, all their exclusives were comming to PC anyway one way or another, and since I'm a big Bethesda fan, I wanted complete modding capabilities you can't get on consoles. So needless to say it was a no brainier for me.
I am glad i sold my PS5 for $80. Eveb though I took a slight loss, I do not have to pay for the overpriced games anymore.
I'm a console player... I'm saving up to buy a good pc. Until then, I'm stuck with console.

PC player here since 1999, I bought a PS5 for the handful of PlaySatan's single player exclusives that I have missed over the years(tired of waiting for Bloodborne)... Largest amount of buyer's remorse that I have felt in over a decade.
Too many issues with just basic things I come to expect from PC gaming, so I returned the console.
I can't even describe how furious I was with the experience, everything from the availability of third-party accessories for the console to their customer support & policies.
I have officially sworn off Sony now. Not even their PC releases now deserve my money.
I've yet to hear a PC gamer to say, "hmmm I want to play the newest Playstation single player game, I'll spend $500 on a PS5 to play a 30-hour game", instead of waiting for it to come to PC with added performance. Half the Playstation fanbase is still on PS4 lol.
I will wait until GTA VI is 15€ or less to buy it 😂

It took me nearly a decade to just finish the GTA V single player.....that's how irrelevant that game was to my gaming pipeline lol.
