Man Fender needs to do a production model of this bass. I think its a better time than ever with the hype around the reunion tour to have fender do a Hoppus signature

This is the production run, it will always be through the HMNIM site. Apparently it just logistically works much better for HMNIM to handle distribution vs. Fender

Great video, Squier is great though! I have a classic vibe and honestly I love it soo soo much! I’d also love a MH bass though :p

Should do a comparison against previous MH basses, for tone / build / specs etc. As these new ones are at a price point that sits around the same region as the first versions.

I was surprised to see the scale length was 34”, for some reason I always thought he played short scales just because of his playing style.

2 things that I think would have been way better on these signatures. Get ride of the ugly blocks, and the Pau Ferro fretboard. Dots, and Rosewood all day.

  • @OddoRocket

When they say c neck, that refers to the neck shape. Typically guitars and basses come in c, d, v, u shaped necks. Alot of Fenders use a c or d shape neck

    • @Ogbassist182
      @Ogbassist182 10 дней назад

there is a specific c shape he likes. I think its 63? its pretty thin neck. lots of punk bassist use the same neck.

Mark did not invent the inverted pickups. Ibanez and Charvel have been doing that on basses long before Mark ever did.

    • @182newspod

Which models and do you recall when they first did it? Haven’t seen those before.

@@182newspod my replies keep getting deleted, i have no clue why . but its def been done before, just saw a yamaha model from 1986 with inverted pickups

Spector has been doing it for a while. The Yamaha BB-2000 from the 70’s had reverse P as well

    • @Cash_Lovell

There a million basses with inverted p pickups, I think he meant he was the only one to try it on a fender (which he still isn’t)

It's beautiful. Too bad you did not plug it, I wanted to hear the difference with the Seymore Duncan pickups of the previous version.

it makes a difference. syemour duncans are definitely much better than fender pickups

I bought mine to play 100% I also have the mk1 in surf green. I play that one a lot but it needs a shim in the neck cuz its 20 years old. Put Seymour Duncans in that thang. Fender pickups suck.

Should've came with a HSC for that price. That's the only reason why I would skip on a purchase of a bass. But then again, I travel a lot. And gigbags have failed me in the past.
