    One of the coolest things in my opinion is that the art still holds up a lot of the time because of the style the chose. This is why I prefer stylized.

    I feel like Prince of Persia 2008 wanted to capture the original direction of Prince of Persia in a 3D fantastical way, only platforming and a bit of slashing combat. And i LOVE IT !

    The battle system got a bit repetitive after awhile, but I really enjoyed the game overall, and it had one of the best and most memorable endings I've ever seen. It's such a shame that there's never been a sequel, because I'd love to know what happened next.

    I just replayed it a few days ago, I didn't play many video games in my childhood/teenagehood but this one is the game on PC I like to go back to regularly, it's really conforting, I like to complete everything before defeating Ahriman and wander around in the kingdom, watching every beauty of the details, admiring the view from the towers, everytime I discover something new, and I keep wanting to be able to fly to explore all the ruins and rivers that we can't access to. Sometimes I feel anguish walking in this emptiness but I feel relaxed, at peace and it makes me dream, I go back to it when my everyday becomes stressful ^^ The many optional dialogues are great, beautiful and emotional, shame it's always the same animation but the game overall can be repititive, I know it all by heart so I don't have any challenge at all, but my favorite part is collecting all the spheres, it's easy and relaxing :)
    I think this is the first Prince of Persia I discovered, then I saw the movie then discovered the ubisoft games, this one is still my favorite and I have the soft spot for Forgotten Sands, its the vibe and the style of these 2 games that I prefer, Sands of Time is stilll awesome though, brilliant but I find it really hard to play sometimes, and its sequels are fine, but too edgy and too 2000s for me ^^

    I loved this game when it came out. I always thought that the criticism was a bit overblown, and as time as gone on, more and more unfounded. The primary thing people complained about was getting saved by Elika, but all that really did was quick reload. Lots of games have systems like this today, and all it really did was make the game faster and less frustrating. Especially when dealing with the longer and more difficult platforming sections later on. The only real "bad" thing about it, was that it ended on a cliffhanger. Even then, plenty of games end on cliffhangers, so I don't think that's a real reason to hate on the game either. It's not like games like God of War reboot or FFVIIR are considered bad games because they ended on a cliffhanger.

Different from the original. Furthermore, the use of the animation style ensured that the game will look great years after it's release. Would love to see a sequel. A side note. • @Mankey619
    @Mankey619 6 месяцев назад +1

    The 2008 Prince Of Persia is nice, and the cell shaded graphics is nice too. But my biggest problem is that this wasn't a challenging action platformer like the rest of the POP games I've played. They weren't anything else to do here, except for the main story mission. Not dying in the game also ruins the challenging experience. Even the bosses weren't fun too. You fight the same combos that you deliver the enemies. This could've been a good game if they added side quests to do, and some more hidden secrets and collectibles to earn. What's even more disappointing is that you get the true ending by giving us DLC for this game.

  • @Loli-Knight
    @Loli-Knight 6 месяцев назад +1

    The game itself was fun and nice to look at for the most part, though combat was pretty bland and there weren't enough enemies/enemy variety. The real problem is that it was a reboot for a series that was too recent to need one. The series wasn't old enough at that time for people to even remotely be okay with a reboot. It's another case of "good game, but should have had a different title".

    I always felt it was such a compelling ending, since video games almost never dive into the ending being so filled with despair or misery. For games with such a specific narrative through-line-to have what is considered a doomed ending is interesting; especially for an action-adventure game.
    The world is not saved. Things do not get better wholly. And it just leaves it like that. I find that compelling.

    I had a different experience. It felt like a mix of a time event gameplay and a railway button masher. I didn't like the feeling that you had little control over your character. Even if you were fighting a boss or enemy you had to press the "right buttons" to get over the said enemy. Plus the fact that there was no character development throughout the game. Very repetitive. So it was overrated for me.

    I remember this game. I was at the hospital at the time after I had surgery, it was a good time waster. I tried to get every achievements but couldn't. The story was alright, but that ending is... depressing, I never tried out the expansion but seems I wasn't missing much, I mean, what was the Prince even trying to accomplish here? Putting the whole world at risk just so he could "get the girl" makes him look stupid and pretty selfish. As for my thoughts on removing death, I didn't mind. On one hand, you don't have to sit through a game over screen and load a save file to return to the point where you died previously. On the other, it makes the game feel way too short. Personally, I thought the combat was pretty repetitive, every enemy felt the same, except the Warrior. I feel like it could have been more fun. Despite it's flaws, I like the game and I wouldn't have mind a sequel.
