Both the fans and Ubisoft weren't happy with how the game was turning out so they restarted development at Ubisoft Montreal. Gonna be another couple years at least before it comes out
It's either the best or the worst depending on who you ask. It's definitely made to appeal to those edgy 2000s teens, and doesn't really fit the "persian" setting that much with metal as the ost, withy dialog that sounds like a teen's rambling who's going through an edgy phase and just much more over the top gore. The game isn't bad though, I qquite like it, but I get why some people look at you strangely when someone says that it's the best of the series, as not everyone shares that same opinion.

Thanks a lot for this video. I didn't finish all of the games while finished The two Thrones like 14 times lol. That enlightens a lot what is the real canon story of the "principal" trilogy and why some stuff at the Two Thrones happened the way they happened. That franchise inspired many things in my life, the most visible one being that I choose to become a parkour practicioner and then a circus artist, because I loved to pretend that I was some kind of acrobat warrior as a child. In Prince of Persia and the sands of time i remenber how blown away where when the clothes got ripped from time to time. It gives the sensantion of advance
Prince of Persia was such a gem of the peaking gaming era, when video games were so full of different ideas and story backgrounds, when developers were looking for innovative breakthroughs with each new titles, when publishers were actually trying to make money from selling games rather than services or pushing agendas.
If we want to be technical, and I do, in the original 1989 Prince of Persia you play as a simple wanderer, whom falls in love with the princess. It's not until the end of the game in which he becomes the Prince of Persia. "The Tyrant Jaffar lies defeated, his power shattered. The people of Persia hail their Princess, and the brave youth who saved her from the forces of darkness. No longer a stranger, he shall from this day forth be known as Prince of Persia"
If I remember correctly in pop2 it's revealed that the new prince was a prince before, but his father's kingdom was destroyed. So he wasn't prince of Persia, but at least a prince of some ancient ruins
The Lost Crown was my first Prince of Persia game. Luckily, I beat it this today. March 8 2024. The Lost Crown is a solid game and surprised me a lot. I really enjoy it.

@@takoshihitsamaru4675 ohh. True. I remember there being time portals you had to activate to change time. Same ones that act as safe rooms from dahaka.
I just came across this video three days after seeing a trailer for "the rogue prince of persia." From what I've learned from this video, the rogue prince will be the 5th timeline within the franchise. I'm excited to play these two new PoP games and learn more about each of their stories.
Prince of Persia series was always exciting for me even on 2008 game, great graphics didnt get old i think. Its sad assassin's Creed series killed it but i have Hope IT will revive as new Prince takes the cake in January for best game i hope
i do wonder tho if they can happen in the same timeline. different princes in different moments in time in one same universe. the 2008 PoP is the first one taking place probably 2000 bc since its inspired by Zoroastrianism and taking place in an ancient setting. the sands of time saga takes place in Babylon, so the earliest it can happen is 1894 BC give or take a couple of 100 years. BUT since solomon "died" in 930 BC, i guess his army buried and then warrior within and the two thrones can only happen afterwards. the lost crown is set in persepolis and persepolis doesn't exist until around the 6th century BC giving some 200 years wiggle room between the sands of time and the lost crown. the original trilogy is set in a medieval persia. probably 500/600 AD... my point is,... they can all be happening in the same universe, just 100s years apart.
Ubisoft just dont want to take prince of persia as serious as other AAA game, and just want to put minimum effort to get as much money as it can, whilst if they listened to the fans they would know that we all want warrior within and it would compete with God of war easily
I too, am a very very very big fan of Prince of Persia 2008/2009 game, wish they would've continued that story too.. the graphics are fresh till this day!
The OG PoP was my first ever PC game, and when the 2nd came out with the poppin' collors it blew my little mind... Then the Ubi trilogy was fantastic ... and then of course came its successor : Assassin's Creed
Fun fact Ubisoft canceled Prince of Persia Redemption in favor of Assasins Creed for those who don't know Prince of Persia Redemption was supposed to be a continuity to I am not sure but I think it was Forgotten Sand
Sands of Time (2003) is definitely the best of the entire SoT series. . . It’s so charming and whimsical, and has all the best elements of cheesy action movies like the Mummy and Scorpion King It has a romance subplot that’s actually quite wholesome and interesting, and the Prince and Farah have such a dope dynamic And it doesn’t have all the unnecessary edginess like in Warrior Within, while still being dark and depressing at times
This game is a relic and deservers to be brought back to its full glory. I miss when Ubisoft used to release high calibre games like this!
