- Hey my lovelies
Mischiefmaker.info
Well,
I finally told myself to take a little time off from working in the garage and this is what I hit. A fantastic day still but it’s time to do something I’ve wanted to do to MM for a while and this is the perfect time.
Everything g has to be fixed before the end of the week so… stay tuned to what is going on with him.
Thank you so much for watching and I’ll see you soon.
- Holls
I think you could have made a call and got a shirt. Kudos for making it out on your own!
You should have called Matt lol you know he would come out there in a heart beat to help his friend
You could’ve called Matt an got a t-shirt 😂
Hindsight is 20/20 🤦🏻♀️
I was waiting to hear “so I got a call from Hollie….” And seeing the wrecker showing up to save the day.
@@MischiefMakerTV 😂 oopie
@@redbo1519 and Matt asking, Holly, what size of t shirt she would like
What a morning you had. Call Matt for a rescue - now back to your video. You gals are very resourceful 👍
I absolutely love your positive vibe. As they say, "a bad day wheeling is better than a good day at work".
Hollie in a good state and you have great friends there as well like Rudy, Matt ,and paul
You should have made the “Call”. Matt probably would’ve done a trail repair on “Mischief Maker” and you would’ve been able to finish the day “Wheelin”.
This bracket has been field repaired before. It’s a bit like a paper clip that has been bent too many times…it was better to exit the trail and start drawing up a newer/better bracket.
Ol’ mischief maker saw all the attention Nessie got and is demanding equal shop time😂😂😂
MischiefMaker gettin' into mischief. --- Gotta love it. --- Thanks for the real-world upload.
Ooof rough break, glad you got some wheeling in. Even better, so many great friends to lend a hand!
And THIS is one of the reasons why one should never go wheeling alone!
it is better to have wheeled and broke than never to have wheeled at all!😉
Hollie, it may be that MischiefMaker was wanting some attention since you have been working with Nessie and other vehicles. Tender loving care will make him all better.
I would bet that Rudy from RAD could make you up a nice heavy duty trackbar bracket and then weld it to never break again...
situations like this can be so stressful but you kept so calm awesome job
Now that you found the “weakest link” it’s easy to replace with upgrades.
One of the best parts of wheeling, problem solving!
I can’t tell you how much I loved your positivity in such a challenging moment. Seeing you get upset in your eyes yet smiling through is such an example. It’s not my demeanor in those moments unfortunately. It was good to see you out on the trail though!
Thank you for the kind words! I have to admit, it’s easy to keep smiling when you are literally surrounded by such awesome people. The Jeep community never ceases to amaze! ☺️💙
@@MischiefMakerTV looking forward to seeing what bracket you go with
Ugh i hate seeing you upset, hopefully everything is fixed quick and easy!
Sorry to see Mischief Maker break like that. I'm proud of you Hollie, for keeping yourself positive. It's the Jeep Life after all right? Keep being positive. Chief will be back stronger. 😊
When the going gets tough , the tough get rough. Thanks Hollie !
Great video Hollie, thumbs up from Tasmania Australia 🤠👍🇦🇺
I finally know what your text was talking about. Lol
I hope you spent your Memorial Day weekend the same way I did 😝 (Well, not so much stuck, but having fun with friends and family!!).
Ahhh so sorry Mischief Maker in in the hospital! Big hugs Holls! Hang in there...he'll be good as new soon! 🌺
If only you knew some one with an off road wrecker! T he W
orld's Largest Off Road Wrecker!
I’m honestly SHOCKED that you haven’t already broken that without having a brace. I use a Synergy brace on mine (back end too). Good luck and Happy Trails!
Your gonna hurt Matts felings that he didnt get to come out with the big wrecker 😂
Oh man. I tore my track bar mount completely off the axle and was 4 hours away from home. Tried to strap it like you and it lasted 10 feet and broke the strap. Limped it back to the parking lot only able to turn slightly one way and a good Samaritan (now a friend) welded it up for me but it was sketchy at best. Made it home (highway speeds) as I followed another good Samaritan who was headed my way. Next trip I bought a trailer!!
I can see a new frame in Mischief's future!
Love the way the group comes together to help! We need to see a walk around of Trail Haunters Bus, that is one cool rig.
That was nice of Guy Fieri to jump in and give a push at 2:38
Good for you for taking the day off. You deserve it 🎉🎉
Try to hook a soft shackle around the hyme and a snatch block to the other side of the frame so the winch wants to pull it sideways tight against the frame. That will usually get you good enough to make it out without a welder.
Reason #1 never to go wheeling alone
You should have made a call to your friend with the world's largest off road wrecker, I think his name is Matt from Matt's Offroad Recovery.
Matt, Rudy, Paul ,Robby and Rory, would have dropped what they were doing to come get you out of this mess 😅😅
Not worth bothering your friends on a holiday weekend ☺️
@@MischiefMakerTV you mean Family and that’s what family does,, can’t wait to see when Matt finds out 🫣🫣😂😂
Oh, I know! He’s definitely gonna give me a hard time about it. 😅
I'm watching the video n all I'm saying is "y doesn't hollie call Matt or or tomtom
@@terrancegrant5573 It is Lizzy who is becoming the most experienced welder in that group. She's laid more metal on that wrecker than I've done in my lifetime!
You could have gave up and called Matt but you didn't you just kept moving and that's awesome . Maybe it's time to look into a premiere welder or pay a visit to Paul's cousin merlin and have him build you one I'm sure he'd love the visit.
I want a tour of trail haunter bus!!! Schoolies are so cool
Who ya gonna call, Trail Mater 👍👍👍 Rorey can stick weld which has better penetration in the field from 12VDC battery current. That seems to be a common breaking point on factory welded points. Steering knuckles also weak.
Something that I think bears mentioning. If you stop right at hte 6 minute mark, you can see that much of the crack is very rusted. This means that this did not fail all at once, it's been failing for quite some time. The lesson learned here is that if you have a modified vehicle, or a vehicle that you are pushing beyond it's normal limits, you should be inspecting it regularly.
That is a cute mig welder!
Watching these videos - "wheeling" is not an inexpensive sport. Fun to watch.
Time to make a call for the heavy wrecker,,lololol
Cleanings and nutting & bolting regularly can help detect this type of thing. Granted, things break offroad. Play hard, inspect hard.
She really is nothing but Mischief. Good luck, Hollie!
Hey this stuff happens Hollie, just fix him up and go again. Good luck on fixing him.
That Jeep needs some lovin’ seems like he’s jealous of all the other projects you have going on…😂😂😂
True! Well, he’s going to get a TON of attention on Wednesday. 😂😂
“Hey my lovely’s” should be a shirt!
3xl please, first pre order
I hear there is a mystical magical yellow tow truck lurking in that area of the desert. If you click you heals 3 times while saying Banana it may appear and tow you home. LOL
the only problem with that is it currantly resides at chads fab shop
@@wb2dx717 Its back. I saw it this week at Matts.
WINNER!!! BWAAAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
Time for full hydro Hollie!
Sorry for my heavy lead foot disrupting your video! We had a great time wheeling with you!
Not at all. It was awesome wheeling with uou
Call for Matt!
Holly: you are a brave one!
As a welder! Those welds are cringe at best!
Yeah, there was no way to clean or prep the area properly, but I still appreciated their effort. Better to just strap the axle in place and bug out as quickly as possible.
@@MischiefMakerTV You can. I’ve welded those on and yea it’s a huge pain in the butt but you can prep it to bare steel. I used a die grinder with really small sanding disc.
I’ll be replacing this bracket. It’s long over due. I’ve actually field repaired this stock bracket twice. It’s time for a proper aftermarket bracket that’s 1/4” steel.
@@MischiefMakerTV Rory would have welded that with his eyes closed 😎and then joined in on the fun, in reverse
@@thrashmetal7588 Hats off for patience to be thorough. It's what I dig about Rory Irish!
Happy Fixing
Can't do what looked like tack welds to hold that. That's why Rory uses the stick. Lots more heat and penetration. For a MIG....you'd have to double pass and really work it in there (on a trail fix). Eventually....most things break.
No call to matt 😂
sunglasses make a lousy welding shield. Be Prepared
Buena aventura, me gustó el video, espero puedas arreglar el Jeep
Jeep community is the best.
Call Matt 😂🌟🌟🌟
Shes a good friend!
i watch this when it first posted. watching the star into the welding box i sense you are still in trouble,
when you buy a welder like that you need to burn a spool or 2 of wire and test and hammer and weld again
its small and welds different you need to experience it be fore you hit the trail . have fun
The way the rust was in those holes it's been breaking for awhile.
Matt's off-road recovery would have got you and your mischief maker out of there with less damage.
I figured that weld would break. Just from the look of it. It was not hot enough and had no penetration to stick the two pieces of metal together. Flux core wire welding takes practice to be able to produce a good weld. And the was not one obvi
You need to call Matt so you can get that free T-shirt
Glad you got MM and you back to the shop safe..
Let Rudy do the next welding.
My prayer tonight is, you do not give up this “new spiritual calling”, In your life. and I truly feel in my Christian heart, that it is a real calling to remain here.
And I’ve been sensing in my spirit, that there are other things going on in your life, that “decorum” prohibits you from saying, in here. I’m a born again Christian.
And when I say, I pray, I’m one of those that mean it. A lot of folks, do not. Sad to say, But it’s true.
I was watching that guy weld and was fairly certain it wasn't going to hold.
Those are probably most of the creekin and squeekin weve ben hearing the ladt year or so, besides the dry rubbin spots
I really enjoy your videos. Very entertaining!!! "Movies Recapped"
awesome community foresure.
Oh No. MM is in need of some major work. Better check the other side might better replace while you have the front apart. Look o. The bright side atleast there was others there to help you out. Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
It happens, people Don,t realise Rory is a Long ways from Sand Hallow. Rory does better trail welds than I can do in the shop
I know a guy with a tow truck in your vicinity.😂
Tack stack welding a structural part, and in sunglasses no less. Yikes! You are a very kind person, but we all know you held back what you really wanted to say when you said “Those welds look… so good!” Haha
Should have ran the winch line from the right hand frame rail to the track rod bracket to hold it to the frame.
Apparently that welder is for welding fenders back on after they've been torn off??
Time to call Matt he owes ya a couple favors LOL
Would have stick welding with several series'd batteries been a better option?
That's the wheeling community
Where was Rory when you needed him? The mig didn't put enough heat into it to melt the base metal. It wasn't clean and looked like chicken poop.
Thrashmetal75 is spot on and I would consider a redesign of that bracket if it was me
I had closed captioning on and as you were reverse steering just before the tire popped, it showed (music) as the steering was squawking 😅
you could have crossed strapped the front axle so it could not move side to side to get out.
Very good fix. Where did he get that welder? Have fun and be safe. Or maybe you should have called Matt. He owes you. And you get a t shirt. 😊
I’ll definitely call Matt next time. I felt guilty bugging him on a holiday weekend 😅. Plus there were all these Jeepers out on the mountain who were ready to help.
That really stinks Holly! Sorry you had a rough time of it. I'm sure you will get her back up and trailing in no time!
I am no expert, but... from my search for buying a used jeep , all I found was rusted out frames.
SO I gave up!
ALL manufacturers give their chassis a quick "wash" of thinned out black paint that goes through in a couple of years.
IF you have chassis that is "rust proofed", most likely the inside of the tube was not coated so it will rus from inside out.
It's a real bummer to spend a ton of $$$ on the top just to have it all collapse due to a broken frame.
I think early on in the video you said the brackets were stock. Oh well they last a long time in extreme wheelin!
If only there was someone in the area you could call for a tow!
Go thru all your weld on those jeep frame ....there rust litebrite did a video on this about jeep frame rust problem's and the factory weld job
What? No giant yellow wrecker with a welder called?
Hurry call Matt
Call Matt 😊
Should have called Matt Orr recovery
I agree with Karstadt, should have called Matt.
Guess you better start working on it.what a mess.everything is breaking.
Technically breaking again. It’s a stock bracket & I’m surprised it lasted this long after the last repair 🤣
Great effort but very cold and sloppy welds. Got to put heat to it.
Looks like it’s time to doubt triangulate the front end and go full hydro.
Way easier said than done on a JKU. It’ll be a 3 link front end for the life of this vehicle. And, the full hydro is a maybe. I still like having a mechanical link.
Until I find myself taking bypasses when my other full-body drag axle friends aren’t, I can’t imagine making any major changes to MM. but that stock track bar bracket has definitely got to go 😂😂
Should have put a ratchet strap on it with that booger weld, might have held up. Why didn’t you call MORR for the Heavy Wrecker? He has the Premier welder that works awesomely?!?
Guess need to call Matt lol
