As soon as a childless person starts saying "Our youth" and "Our children", I immediately tune the fuck out
Can I say it, if it's followed by "deserve actually good entertainment instead of pastel slop that wouldn't even pass a kindergartener's standards of entertaining"?
@@neoqwerty I will give you the one allowance 💜
Ah, I see this guy’s problem. He has confused “I just learned about this for the first time,” with “no one knows about this, and I am uncovering a conspiracy”
Johnald Chump Disease, people are talking about it
Bro is just slow
That's exactly what this is. Good catch, I was trying to figure out what his deal was. This makes so much sense now
@@kerseyHarding"I'm the main character! I can't have not known!
Thing is, he used to not be this idiotic and ignorant. There was a time when I actually respected him as a content creator, but something happened along the way to turn him into a troglodyte.
did he just find out the military does that?
Wait until he finds out how much television is copaganda.
@@TheDigitalWatcher I saw a movie years ago that is sneakily anti-copaganda while being about two cops. It's called _Dirty_ (2005) and if I tell you the major selling point it spoils the film. It got poor reviews but it did a good job at leading you down one path and then showing you that you actually walked down another.
@@BaronVonQuiply Huh, a quick look at the barebones wikipedia, and this is intriguing, gonna put it on my backlog.
Watching you watching Armoured Skeptic is my current favorite guilty pleasure
I mean good but you are basically learning stuff I knew in 2005. I watch these and I am like wow... why did this left-wing die? Who replaced it with one that loves political correctness, hates guns, and is terrified to offend? It's the left Gurg believes in and Jake does not like and it's because it's a left-wing for losers.
Saaaaaaame
Ah, yes, the "skeptic" that never was...
💯
*Greg:* The problem is capitalism and it's the fault of this pretty woman in the media who isn't dating me.
Time is a substance, and I am a substance abuser.

Oh.. that's not what you meant...
Many are saying it's slipping into the future. They come up to me and they say "Steve Miller, did you see what happened to time yesterday" and I say "I know..." *sharp inhale* .
I'm smoking on that good time every day.
Jake, Captain America is unironically my favorite Marvel hero. The reason I like him so much is because I am a veteran, and our stories have similar plot points. If you pay attention, Cap is not just pro-America military stooge. He starts off that way, but as his story progresses, he becomes disillusioned with the government and military. He eventually uses the skills given to him by the system to help fight that system when it reveals itself to be nefarious.
Also, who the fuck uses a shield as their primary weapon. I get down with that.
So your like Flag boy cause you signed up to be a fascist goon?
@@johnjohn2570What?
@ExtremeMadnessX did you not watch the stream, where he says "who's favorite superhero is Capt. America?" (Not a direct quote).
I was simply providing context as to why Cap might be someone's favorite.
Fuck the military. And fuck the government.
Cap is not my favorite but I do like him and agree. He's actually fairly anti imperialist and pro immigrant. He represents more the spirit of America, lady liberty and all that rather than upholding the status quo. I mean it's obvious when in the civil war arc he's on the anti registartion side and fights the government because he's afraid of what the government will do that power
My favorite hero was always the Hulk, Immortal Hulk made him so much more relatable to me as someone with BPD. It added a much needed layer of seriousness and maturity to the character.
If Greg is serious about what he says and not grifting, then I think he genuinely needs medication
Yeah sorry I'm an member of the [REDACTED] military, and you know those Havana syndrome weapons people keep talking about. We tried it first on Greg. (He signed a consent form, not that he remembers, we are an ethical military after all), turned out the new versions had a few side effects.
He had 2 breakups, he didn't recover well.
@@XanKreigor Did he sign half of his brain over to his GFs? Because there's "not recovering well" and then there's "my exes walked out with a full hemisphere each I'm now running entirely on a brainstem"

You dunking on Greg has become one of my favorite subgenres of RUclips video.
gee, this is all new news, Armored Skeptic. How wise of you. As if we haven't been seeing this ever since newspapers, radio, tv, and movies came into vogue. Governments use media outlets. But YOU, yes YOU, called this out. 🤣
This is so much worse & funnier when you keep in mind Greg is Canadian.
He's talking about a Neighboring country to him.
There are literally billions of fellow countrymen he could be caring about instead, but no, fixate on conspiracies about your Southern Neighbors.
I would be called a hack writer for making this character.
What America does kinda effects the rest of the world.
The MCU is real to me damnit!!!
*Millions.
Canada's population is roughly equivalent California's.
Billions?
Plus you can only talk about your own country???
Why limit to that... Why not restrict speech to only your city
There are secretly billions of Canadians. They're just biding their time before they take over.
I'm Dutch and it def is a him thing that he doesn't know, and not a Canadian thing. The guy really had his brain leak out somewhere in the past.
I'm Canadian and I can say that I found out about the US military vetting their portrayals in US media when I was an extremely sheltered 17 years old and not even fluent in english yet. Can vouch that even a rural kid from Quebec can accidentally find that info without ever looking for it just being a Stargate SG1 fan.
Why do people view "transhumanism" as some kind of monolith with no nuance, variance, etc.? It's a concept we've been engaging with for a very long time now. The internet was, in essence, an act of transhumanism. We used technology to modify *the entire human race* to allow it to function on a higher level. The discussion doesn't have to be this weird dichotomy of "we either run off to live in the woods or end up having our brain-chips hacked".
Also, why not both? Why can't I go live with nature, and get cyber modifications?
@@FrozEnbyWolf150 Well, now you're just being sensible.
technically GLASSES MAKE YOU A CYBORG
Yeah there is a huge variance of transhumanists, for example there are fascist traditionalist transhumanists who are mega scared of people with blue hair, or anarchists transhumanists, transhumanists who just want to not die, transhumanists who want to code javascript faster, transhumanists who want hot swappable bodyparts, etc etc. And most of these groups/people don't like the other transhumanists

I cant believe i used to actually watch this guy. The dude went waay down the rabbit hole after shoe left him
Literally everything he said in regards to Oppenheimer was a complete fabrication.
like just off rip on the "Hollywood is involved with the military" my thought is does he mean the longstanding agreement that if you want to use authentic military equipment ya need to agree to make the us military look good in your movie? cause thats something thats valid to criticize but its greg so im just wondering how insane it will actually be
21:38 As for the codename thing. I'm guessing it's either, a way to cover up the fact it's a plan and not a movie in case someone over hears, or the plan name is easier to remember since it's a popular film, or possibly it just sounds cool.
I served in the US Army from 99 to 07, I was born in 80 and the G.I. Joe cartoons were my brainwashing lol😂
NASA actually lowkey belongs at SDCC...
That weird voice thing Greg does, randomly dragging out the final syllable of words at the end of sentences, still irritates me.😬
Sounds like someone who was given the prompt to talk dirty and just maxed out the vocal fry
This guy has the liberal arts course essay issue.
I remember in some of my classes, you really can’t write about something so you pretend to be ignorant and also spin stuff in crazy directions.
CW: IdPol :P
On one hand it's brain melting to watch a white guy mansplain well known social phenomenon as if it were his own ego driven revelation, as part of this cycle of "my career is making youtube videos about things I watched on youtube by people whose career is making youtube videos about..." uh, anyways. On the other hand, it's a perfect demonstration of how information is spread and inevitably narrativized through retelling. It also can elucidate the distinct psychic milieu of dominant vs subject social groups. Communists, black people, and queer people often have a more well-developed cultural understanding of something like the military-Hollywood connection. A middle-class fella like Greg can talk at you about a thing, anybody else could probably have a good discussion about it.
Greg clearly never watched Platoon, a movie that is a stark criticism of the United States in the Vietnam War. Oliver Stone also fought in the Vietnam War as an infantry man and despite being a weirdo scientologist now he provided a really great anti war message in Platoon. Platoon depicts the US Army committing War crimes while also showing what the regular soldier goes through and how the war breaks them down. Great film 10/10
Hey Jake! Just so you know, the military actually gets editorial control on these movies. They've had script rewrites done when the military didn't look heroic enough. It's true.
And pulled support for a captain America movie or two when they were too critical of militaristic entities
Also not really recruitment…? At no point watching any superhero, Star Wars or general action movie did I think “I wanna join the military”
He was so close. He made bedroom eyes at the fiend behind the curtain and ran away. He lost it.
Myyy naaaame is Greeeggggg and I taaaaalk reeeeaaally slowlyyyyyyyy.

ffs Greg, stop using Danger Snow! Yes it's great and free, but it doesn't make sense as background music for a video essay. It's distracting too.
My mind is blown this guy just connected those two planet sized dots.
I miss when Greg talked about Moai aliens and green guys. Now he's hating Brie Larson? Sad.
Whenever some new person discovers this I feel like sitting them down and making them watch The Simpsons season 12 episode New Kids on the Blecch. Especially when they look and sound like this dude. At least that was entertaining while being informative. Remember kids, Yvan Eht Nioj!
That episode also taught me about Superliminal Messaging

To be fair, Hollywood's pro military stance is glaring. And American Anti-war movies are awful. If you want to see good ones, watch German movies.
Hold up... I'm sorry, does he actually think the overtly fascist characters in the boys are "superheroes" for real? HOW IS HE THIS BAD AT MEDIA LITERACY?
All right wingers think Homelander is the good guy (it took them 3 years just to catch a hint, and they lost it the first time they realized the fashies are being mocked). I think it's beyond mere media illiteracy, it's more like they see the boot on the neck and they cheer.
I've only seen the first episode, but it's very clear that you're supposed to realize that concentrated power is a problem and the superhumans are corrupt self-serving villains.
They are superheroes. You are the one who lacks media literacy if you think the Boys isn't explicitly critiquing the very concept of a superhero as fascist. Watchmen did it, too, decades ago.
@@Abcdefg-tf7cu They are fascists with super powers people treat as heroes. The readers aren't supposed to actually think of them as heroes, because THEY'RE FASCISTS. People had terrible media literacy around watchman too, decades ago, idolizing the villain.
@@modelmajorpita lol Armpured Skeptik wasn't saying he thinks the villains of the boys are heroes. He is saying they are "superheroes" within the context of the fictional series. You are even more media illiterate than Skeptik.
@@modelmajorpita You saying Skeptic has no media literacy is so funny. You're so dim witted and devoid of media literacy that you think he thinks people who dress like superheroes in the Boys are actually supposed to be the good guys. He clearly knows they are bad, you media illoterate hog who is illiterate in media. He called them "superheroes" bevause that is their public persona in the series. He knows they are bad guys who go around pretending to be good guys. He called them "superheroes" because they literally arr a subversion of superheroes. Homelander is a subversion of the superheo superman.
This one reminds me a lot of his cities video. He takes a basic true point (cities are going broke because of poor planning/the military supports movies for positive coverage) and misunderstands then stretches it to nonsense land. Like here is the point and Greg just goes zipping past noticing it out of the corner of his eye.
On the genes thing, I'll take the scientists word over Greg's. And hey, if it works, it works and I won't complain about it if it can make us live longer, stronger, faster, without rehabilitating diseases.
I'm skeptical on the science, I want to see it working... but Greg thinks he actually knows more than the scientists working on this technology 😂😂😂😂😂
Oh my god he doesn't know what titular means...

Bro is wearing a corn suit and is worried about Greg's cute spittle beard, smh.
You could at least link his video up.
omg, it would blow his mind to know, that the US military shows up and has a booth at AVN (The Adult Entertainment Expo). Yes, the military knows humans like men and women in uniform, and capitalize on the fetish even, Greg.
I'm mad about the Secretariat comment he made because he DIDN'T die due to his heart size. Secretariat died at age 19 (NOT young, definitely a senior, though horses can live longer) of a degenerative hoof disease known as laminitis, which can afflict ANY horse and is fatal in many cases because horses can't survive if they can't stand. His large heart was perfectly formed and perfectly functional, and the gene that causes it - the X Factor or Eclipse gene - is well understood in thoroughbred breeding. It has no effect on lifespan at all. Fuck that guy for smugly communicating misinformation about the king of all horses.
Wait does he mean to tell me that the military for a country that basically only cares about making the most money possible would be instrumental to the money making machine at large? Crazy
Right-wingers are SO GODDAMN close to the point.
@agoo7581 And it is *so* frustrating that they can't just take the smallest half-step back and see the bigger picture that most of their problems stem from capitalism.
Like with his AI point, he correctly identifies that people getting replaced with automation is bad and that labor isn't cared for under our current system, but the problem isn't that system it's the robots themselves apparently.
when you realize Greg thinks "titular" is a synonym for "quintessential"
Why is it that, for every formerly-voice-only RUclipsr who've started showing their faces, all the good ones look nothing like I imagined, and all the bad ones look EXACTLY like I imagined. 😂
Has Greg lost weight? He looks really thin, and it makes his proportions resemble that if an elf.
I used to be a big fan of Armoured Skeptic, and now I', wondering why XD
It's so frustrating too, because he comes so close to getting it, but just can't help but feel like a main character.
He used to do fun(debatable) animations about standard atheist stuff. I jumped ship when he started ghost hunting.
It's really sad to see that Armoured Skeptic has become the exact same type of guy he would dunk on 10 years ago.
He's always thought like this
I wanted to defend bucky but then I realised I can’t name a reason I really like him beyond pretending he’s gay. 😂😭😂😭

Greg is the new Alex Jones.
Oh my god... People will pull from their culture when they get to pick names for things?
Wait... Secretariat? The horse from the 70s? Specifically born in 1970 and died *checks notes* in 1989? So 6 years earlier than the expected age... Oh they were put down after a hoof condition that didn't get better? Wild that his heart was located in his hoof...
Financiers (of ALL kinds) can influence the film it's funding.
Greg: HOLLYWOOD IS THE PROPAGANDA ARM OF THE MILITARY!!!
…what media does he watch that’s trying to CONVINCE US to like brain computers? The most popular show I can think of is Black Mirror and that shut is ALWAYS shown as bad…
I mean screw the Military industrial complex, but Armored Skeptic is still just a tool
