    Great update. if we have more over the top heat days. The area of heated track. place a ceramic saucer on the track place a ceramic mug on it with 30%cold water then fill with ice cubes over time will return the track back without having to adjust the track. Hope this helps. Stay safe.

      Thanks Mike, problem I have in the fiddle yard is I laid the track in winter when it was at its shortest!

      Sorry to hear about that mate. Yeh it has been bad for some layouts, I brought most of my rolling stock downstairs as well during those two days

    Hi Ben - nice running sessions. Like your weathering on the wagons - looking good. Bet you had a few choice words when the heat buckled your fiddle yard track ! Your a dab hand at scratch building - buildings all look the part. Cheers Euan

      Cheers Euan as always, yes it took me 3 hours work to sort the track out! hopefully you had no issues, if you did it would be interesting to hear what you did on your next vid, cheers

      @@staffordstationngauge8359 Although it was hot up here in the West of Scotland - it was a more "pleasant 28 degrees" - so luckily no track buckling.

    Hiya Ben . What a great update . Loving the 66 with sound 😎 the white boxes on platform 3 and 4 are telephone boxes for the signals on both platforms as those are bidirectional. The avanti colours are a bluey green . The 92 looks nice did you have any problems with the pickups on it ? As I had a few problems with a couple of my 92's . Shame you run on DCC as I would have loved to have a play at Stafford with a bit of my stock and run a couple of my class 90's and 92's plus a Pendolino . Stay safe and look forward to the next one

      Cheers Andrew yeh Turquoise is a blue green colour, thanks for the info on the telephone boxes, I havent had any issues with the 92, which is good as I bought it second hand, a while back I had a db one which stuttered badly and I had to return it so sorry to hear about yours. Yes shame, and it would be nice for you to see it, the vids dont do it justice, 90s are seen a lot double heading as you know and would look good great pulling a rake of containers, they are in need of a new upgraded model though I think.

    Hi Ben, not sure if it appears in any of your other videos, but any chance you can show us the non-scenic sections and fiddle yard? Nice layout, by the way! Also, how do you operate your points? Thank you

      Hi Robin, thanks glad you enjoyed it, yeh I plan to do a behind the scenes probably next time, I use rails of sheffield connect dcc decoders for most points, the points themselves use seep motors. All my points are electrofrog. I will do a full breakdown next time mate cheers.

    Hello, I've been watching your layout develop with interest. I was wondering what materials you used to make your bridges? I am currently at the stage of looking to make my own bridge.

    • @staffordstationngauge8359
      @staffordstationngauge8359  2 года назад

      Hi Tim, I would recomend drawing a good plan of each elevation first. all made of plasticard, as both bridges have a bow I used 1 mm for the road level, for the main carcass 1.5 mm to avoid warping, for the strut legs on the right one, maybe 0.5mm, the brick on each is then added. I mainly use Slaters to get the plasticard including the embossed brick. Hope that helps, thanks.

    Some beautiful modelling going on there. Loving the grafittied megaboxes and FL 66 in orange. Is it a Dapol? If so, have they added weight to their 66s? I sold mine ages ago for Graham Farish ones as it couldnt pull my container train. (It had just one job, lol)
    Any chance we could see the other side of the layout (fiddle yard?) please…

    • @staffordstationngauge8359
      @staffordstationngauge8359  2 года назад +1

      Thanks John. No its a Farish and I bought it sound decoded, to be exact if you are interested, ESU Loksound Micro v5.0 decoder running Legoman biffo sounds into a 1511 speaker. Lol re Dapol I dont use any Dapol 66s either as they cant pull toffee and like you say too light, however the latest range might be better as they now use next 18 decoders and my dapol 68 next 18 fitted pulls 16 containers very nicely. Sure will do a fiddle yard view in the next update, thanks.

    Enjoyed the update Ben. Good to see Railway Street developing. I’ve always wondered about commissioning time from York Model Rail. How long did it take to get them sent after you put the order in? Stephen

    • @staffordstationngauge8359
      @staffordstationngauge8359  2 года назад

      Thanks Stephen, Julie at York Modelmaking tends to be quite quick, about 3 weeks from commision to delivery. They are not cheap but they are high quality.
