Thanks. Yes luckily the bike came out quite well. I was impressed with all my kit apart from the jacket. The sleeve wore through far too quick I think.
Hi Rob, glad to see you are OK. Lucky you weren’t on the 1290. Don’t think you would have gotten away so lightly if that has landed on your leg. Take care mate 🙏
Unlucky Robbie, I was out on my 1290 SDR yesterday to get it MoT’d and was fully aware, cold tar, tyres & ambient temperature is a recipe for disaster. Take care on cold roads.
Wanted to ride the husky after taxing it today but its been too wet here. Noticed it's drying up now but I watched this & changed my mind! Glad ur ok dude 👍
Glad you are ok Rob, shit happens sometimes. Your riding gear did its job and the bike's protection did what its suppose to do. As the saying goes, it could have been worst for yourself and your bike. Stay safe!
Well all the gear and the right idea mate but glad your in one piece 👍. Most of us have expected the unexpected before but if we can tell that tale,we know we've done well. Frustrating yes but she's can easily be sorted. All the best man.
Trouble is theres been a few cases of them breaking the frame when the bike has gone over. I hav been looking an some engine guards and also need to get some axle sliders
What a mare mate 🤦♂️😬, looks like the hand guards did their job and the use of your leg saved them graphics 😬😬 I bet you thought I’m not doing them again 😂hope your ok mate 👍🏻 at least you walked away 👍🏻💪🏻and a little tlc the bike will be mint again 👍🏻 all the best mate ,we are thinking of you 👍🏻👍🏻
@@Robbiemoto 🤣🤣I bloody hate applying graphics 🤦♂️🤣🤣 these things happen to everyone at sometime or an other👍🏻bloody manhole covers 👎🏻 good quality riding kit may be expensive, but it’s when things happen like this you realise it’s worth it 👍🏻👍🏻keep smiling mate 👍🏻👍🏻
Parts all ready on order. All cosmetic so it’s still rideable. I think I’m just as excited as to when you get the mono as you are lol. It’s certainly been long enough.
No pride to lose on wet manhole covers mate, even Rossi wouldn't have saved that...........I don't ride quick in the wet on roads I don't know where every single manhole cover is tho, that probably the best lesson to learn? any of the kit perform worse than you expected ? glad your ok, glad the bike is ok :)
Cheers bud. I’ve took it on the chin 💩 happens. Just pricing up new parts. Looking around the £150 mark. I wasn’t impressed with the alpine stars jacket. The sleeve and just under left hand pocket area wore through pretty quick. ALL the way through. Hood jeans were great. Slight abrasion on the left hem but certainly no other wear marks. Along with my Furygan boots. Alpinestars short gloves did well. Slight scuff on the carbon fibre knuckle and lettering on the little finger wore off but no wear to the leather. Worse was my Apple Watch took a right old scrape. Still works fine but the glass is heavily scratched. Damn most expensive part of the slide lol.
@@Robbiemoto Sucks for the watch, I think they do repair screens tho ?? I went down the road on my front at 60mph (failed wheelie) my leather jacket stretch panels on the fore arms failed , nasty abrasion burn one side, ouch.....made me re-think how these things are constructed tbh.
Ouch. That sure as hell would have hurt. You just don’t know what you pay for until you need your kit to do what you expect it to do. Especially from Alpinestars. Not exactly the cheap end of riding gear. I’ll certainly be doing a little more homework in the future, although on the same grounds I couldn’t fault the gloves. 🤷🏻♂️.
Im glad you are ok Rob, which is the main thing. Not too much damage to the bike, your kit did its job well enough as well.
I agree mate. I think they’d be a lot more damage to it as well.
Unlucky Robbie, I was out on my 1290 SDR yesterday to get it MoT’d and was fully aware, cold tar, tyres & ambient temperature is a recipe for disaster.
Take care on cold roads.
Thanks. The roads weren’t to bad. Wish I could say the same of the pesky wet drain cover lol.
@@Robbiemoto Robbie, as it the front that slipped or the rear? If the rear i guess the TC was not quick enough to save the situation.
It was the front unfortunately.
Wanted to ride the husky after taxing it today but its been too wet here. Noticed it's drying up now but I watched this & changed my mind!
Glad ur ok dude 👍
The roads were pretty dry but had the odd wet patch. Typically it had to be a wet drain cover.
Glad you are ok Rob, shit happens sometimes. Your riding gear did its job and the bike's protection did what its suppose to do. As the saying goes, it could have been worst for yourself and your bike. Stay safe!
Thanks bud. For sure it could’ve been worse.
Lucky for me and the bike.

All the best man.
Totally mate. The bikes easily fixed. My old arse isn’t. lol.
Could you upload the footage of the crash please Robbie?
lol. If I had my Gopro on I would have. I’d decided to got for a ride without it. Filmed what you’ve seen with my phone.
Glad you are ok Rob, just shows you, you never know!. That's why you should always ride with protective gear on.
I agree mate. It’s not worth it.
Your upright that is the main thing with nothing broken and your kit did it's job.
Exactly right mate.
Exactly right mate.
Just a...tiny..taste. :D Glad you and the bike are ok dude. :)
Thanks. A taste I don’t want to try again.
Bloody hell Rob unlucky m8 .. 😢.. at least u OK 👍
Cheers mate. A grazed elbow, hurt pride and a few scratches to the bike.
What's important is that you are ok.
Totally. Bike is repairable, my old ass not so easy lol.
Could do with some R&G crash bungs that bolt into the frame?
Trouble is theres been a few cases of them breaking the frame when the bike has gone over. I hav been looking an some engine guards and also need to get some axle sliders
Got out of that one pretty good if you ask me. Glad you and the bike are ok. Stock tires the battleaxe?
Hi and thanks. Yes still on the stock battleaxe

I was impressed with my Hood Jeans, Furgan boots and Alpine stars gloves but not the alpine stars jacket. It didn’t take much to wear through.
@@Robbiemoto yes the jeans held up really well mate 👍🏻 ride safe buddy , take it easy 🏍️💨💨👍🏻
Happens to all of us..
Get it fixed and I’ll be round with the 698 for some fun soon enough 🤛🏼
