I really don't understand how people do not talk to themselves in their head. Even when someone is speaking to me, I sort of repeat what they are saying to me in my own head in order to process and comprehend them. I do this process basically instantly of course, but its still a process. Sometimes I wish it was quiet because I can't just like exist without any thoughts. I'm always observing, asking myself questions and remembering. It's just a never ending amount of thoughts. I suppose meditation or something might help this, but I also think that's why video games and tiktok, and music etc. are popular is because at least for me it's a distraction from myself.
I really admire Elliot... He has such a nice personality online and always tries to improve himself. I am highly motivated to do my own shit every time I watch his videos. No matter what others say I stan Elliot!
Elliot is my fav person. He's one of the most creative, thoughtful and inspirationally hard-working creator I've luckily known. Thus, thank you for making the podcast. I love the very natural and insightful way you guys talked. It's like a very healthy communicative and intellectual conversation.
Love the call out to the inner voice, or thinking “in sentences”. As a child, I watched a cartoon called Doug, which prominently features the main character’s inner voice. While watching it, I realized I never used my inner voice, and decided to try it. My inner voice hasn’t stopped talking since. I believe it’s made me a better communicator, and also a better thinker, in being able to process and form my thoughts. That said, I’ve also learned that the thoughts and feelings we have, which aren’t always easy to give words to, are just as valid, and it’s important to stay in tune with them. Even more, the feelings we have, which don’t always have words, are usually the easiest for most to relate and empathize with.

Wish you could do another video with him to find out why he has left youtube (other than the occasional video when he desperately needs money yet tells everyone he’s back to stay)
I think as a podcaster you need to be more vulnerable and don't put too much pressure to the guest. Everyone wants to hear the perspective and thoughts of the guest so you being overly talkative in the conversation is not productive imho. Sometimes listening is better than talking
🫠 In seriousness - I think on the Internet it's really easy to hate - I just try to remember it's another human being on the other side and we don't know what's going through their life and how they feel
The replies you gave on comments against Elliot are nice and coming from someone who knows him personally as you said. But….. sometimes a person’s demeanor even “just” on youtube and the words they speak can say a lot about him/her. Certainly, if someone is your friend, you are naturally more inclined to believe in them than those whom you don’t know. On another note, I don’t think other people would blatantly lie and make up things about others on the internet with their face and reputation on the line. Nonetheless, I still watch Elliot’s videos and support him as much as I support the other side.
That's fair. I don't have context on the situation so not judging - but I do know the people involved personally - and just hoping everyone's doing okay. life is really hard and lonely already. and it sucks when things just make it harder
I usually don't comment on anything on youtube but I've never had to listen to such a bad interviewer that it actually prevented me from even wanting to continue to listen to the podcast. Like it comes off so pretentious and like he's trying to overpower and seem like the main character syndrome. Like just let your guest speak. I felt like Elliot was trying to share really interesting topics like the inner monologue vs no head thoughts and the interviewer would just be so obnoxious about it. "Like anime training." Like majorly makes me want to just switch to another vid. Really hope they can take this feedback and maybe practice tone and realize not everything needs a comment from the main interviewer. Let your guest finish their thought or ask exploratory questions, rather than just inserting in. That whole section was so cringe.
idk why but every time i see this dude talk i feel a little bit of fakeness. you can tell he is sneakily tryna hint on something (u know what i mean if you know about ur mom’s house)
I followed the ur mom house “drama” bc I followed everyone before things unfolded. I think it’s very short sighted to blame anyone for what happened. Furthermore they’ve moved on and we don’t even know the full of it so I don’t understand why you’d hold anything against Eliot or anyone else from that house. If someone judged me or my current/former roommate for issues we’ve worked through, honestly, it would reflect more on them than us because conflict is normal and can be healthy. I also hope Eliot doesn’t see this bc while he seems mature and have good sense of himself, he is human and it must hurt to be unfairly criticized by people who don’t know you. Like, get off the internet and take a walk outside and get to know yourself and decide the energy you want to put out into the world because this does not reflect well on you imo. Stay safe.
This is just a personal bias. As a viewer and bystander with no personal knowledge of Elliot and all the relationships within ur mom's house, we're just guessing. We can take everything they've said publicly, but there's so much more background context that hasn't been said as well in either a good or bad way. Obviously there's room to speculate and have our own opinions since they've documented their start and end, but pointing fingers and placing the blame on Elliot in a situation without full understanding is unnecessary.
No. It can't be racist if you're actually unable to do it. It's a pretty common trait in humans throughout the world. I watched a video that had Koreans attempt to tell the difference between photos of white people and some struggled claiming that they all looked the same. I've been watching East Asian movies and TV shows for years and Elliot Choy and the host look completely different - but they also share many features which may be why you're untrained brain is struggling, lol! Like everything with the brain's processing it needs exposure to differentiate more skillfully. It isn't racist, but it does suggest that you don't engage much with asian people or asian centric media. You should branch out more.

people are so mean to him... losing a best friend.. especially as a guy... its the most painful thing ever. Like, ur best guy, putting u aside, making u a second option all of a sudden... just for what? a p*ssy? hookup chick? ok the guy and the girl might be in love and become best friends as well... but that was never genuine... that was a relationship that only started bc of the sexual attraction... for u to dump or take the attention away from ur best friend to a chick... u must be on another level of trash human being. Kelly and ashley did him dirty as hell, people don't realize it cuz they never experienced that in their life when they have a true real best friend... to make u feel like u are a second option in someone`s life all of a sudden. Props to him for keeping it together distancing himself and cutting them off his life... it might take a couple of years but kelly will surely one day realize the mistake he made... once the attraction isn't there anymore and he starts paying attention to hotter girls around him... at the end he will finally realize there's no such a bond as a male friendship, even with the hottest chicks... sex and physical attraction are temporary, a real deep friendship is not.
