I am glad to hear someone say that you are not multi-tasking, rather you are switching quickly between tasks, that is what I have always thought. Great talk, thanks.

Nice one! I am doing some of the things you told like meditation, reading before sleeping and taking a walk after meals. Also, I stopped multitasking. Sure, I feel better.

I multitask at work every day. This will probably explain how I feel. I’m always mentally and physically checked out by the time I get home. And then I push myself some more to take care of my son and daughter, clean house, make dinners, etc.... I may need to look into a different job because the one I have requires handling multiple tasks at the same time at a fast pace.

I’ve lost sight of my white space. I’ve become too addicted to being busy at work, gym afterwards, and then having a meal. The day is packed end to end with things I “have to do”. Somewhere along this path I’ve lost sight of myself. Having free time on the weekends has turned into one of the most anxiety inducing things I’ve had. I can never really relax even when it’s not time for work.

Great advice! These moments of peace in our daily schedule are so important.
Also that's the 3rd time that i hear that multitasking is a myth.. so i guess the winning horse is "focus" after all

Great talk. Big Aha for me. Now I'm wondering what I'm running away from or rather, if I'm honest, why...? This makes me think of SriKumar Rao's advice against multitasking: mindful-tasking 20 minutes at a time to start. One task at a time for 20 minutes, resisting distraction followed by a break where you can for example consult your phone, social medias etc

I am lazy and antisocial and don’t care. However, I care only when I hurt others with my actions. Like my anger. I think it stemmed from emotional abuse by my mother and I am struggling. I am trying different things to stop my craziness.

I've been watching maybe five of these videos on balancing my life and I haven't yet found the answer. So frustrating!

I'm sure you'll hear this from a lot of people you meet in life: you'll never find the perfect answer to balance. I think balance is something we always have to work towards. I'd recommend trying some of the "white space" examples Sara mentioned: getting away from the office, driving a different route to work, etc. Some of these activities you'll find won't prove helpful at all, but others will. It's important that the "white space" part doesn't feel like a chore, it needs to be things you enjoy doing.

Multitasking is the biggest conspiracy of them all. And doing laundry whilst listening to your favorite music is not multitasking
