I got an OG R6 when the MK II came out, and I just bought an OG R5 now that the R5 MK II has come out. Unless my R6 or R5 dies I won't have a reason to replace either of them.
The R6 and R5 are amazing cameras and if your picking one up while on a sale because of the new cameras, that's a very smart move! Not everyone needs the latest and greatest
I feel like I just got the R6 II and I got it when it was released. This all seems so fast. Honestly the only real thing I would love is the 4k120, even if it was cropped. Other than that most everything else is fantastic. I don't see any benefit going to a higher MP camera, in fact there can me more drawbacks. You can print any size with 24 MP and if you want anything higher, just upscale with AI or Adobe's superscale... often upscaled 24 MP will look better than 45 MP native files (I did a LOT of comparisons). The nice thing about the R6 II is that it already has very good rolling shutter performance, even better than the new z6III which has a partially stacked sensor, at least when it comes to video. Shocking for sure. It also has better dynamic range than the new Nikon as well and better AF. So yeah, like you it's such a HUGE pain trying to sell camera gear, plus it's sad losing the money and then having to spend more for the new camera.
I know right I feel like i've just got mine as well! It's dropped so much in price since i brought mine which makes me think the mark III is around the corner. I'd love 4K100 too but not worth upgrading just for that. And yeah 24 mp is the perfect amount, still great detail and file sizes not too big. Suprising it's better than Z6III in rolling shutter and the AF really is amazing.
I have the OG R6 looking at buying a OG R5 though. Definitely would pick up the mark 3 if it has 6k/60fps internally. Would really like to see c log 2 but it doesn’t necessarily have to have it. I’m just waiting it out at this point don’t know if Canon is sticking to the 2 year refresh cycle.
it look like MK III not really impressive to me, I would prefer buying MK II as right now price cheap (I have several old EF lens), the difference can let me consider to spend on other gear, Len, or even 2nd hand Nikzon Z for manual my few M-mout lens. the new tech most likely exceed what common user really need or/& utilize. I know some users may consider new function especially for video, but to me, it wouldn't much difference for taking pictue, and even I would like prine or/& manual len instead. perhaps thsi would be worth if for video perspective, athough I want to get inabout it, still not likely to utilize as a very beginner level.
Have the Mark II, sold the R8, sold the Fuji Xt5 and tried the Xt50. Sold both and waiting for Mark III but keeping Mark II for studio video. BTW, I just subbed. I have a new channel I’m launching and would appreciate a follow! Can't create content if you don't start!
Am really afraid that all new Canon cameras they churning are catering more for VIDEO then stills I think.I reckon one day not too distant in the near future it will be the death of stills cameras in the digital world and people will move back to the old days of film except news and sports journalists. Its sad and really pathetic that almost all digital cameras are going video.Mising the DSLR world of the workhorses the Mark 2 and Mark 3 - the best digital cameras for me that Canon has ever produced and in the film days I used the 3 x Nikon FM 2 bodies. So ya hoping Canon makes a fully fledged STILLS CAMERAS ONLY AND PLS NO VIDEO for us few @CANON #CANON
I've always thought that, these cameras are absolutely amazing for stills though and video is where it's weak at. However I've always thought why not have a photo focused camera? There's cameras like the A7Siii which is video focused and the stills are no where near as good as the A7V for example, then you have your hybrid cameras so why not have a stills focused camera with basic video features but there's really high fps, global shutter, etc

The contest will probably between Sony A7V vs Canon R6 III .

Canon should include a cooling fan system in the r6 mark 3.

Doesn't R6 and R6 II have the same sensor?
No new sensor on the mark II
What mic are you using in this vid
