2:00 The best system to switch between stills and video is on the Canon R5, where you just tap the M-FN button right next to the shutter button and it does the exact same thing as the R6II photo/video switch. One button to bounce back and forth, it is instant and retains all those settings too. The R6II is good, but you have to move one of your hands to get to it. I wish they would make it the same as the R5 and just use the M-FN button to make it even faster.
Iv only briefly used the R5 and setting the record settings on photo mode and just press the record button is great. I enjoyed that mode dial and think Canon should filter it down to as many bodies as they can. Not just the R, R5 & R3. But I dislike that only top end cameras have any mappable button where the R7 is limited.
I’ve been waiting for about 10 years to get a Canon Mirrorless or SLR to use as a B-cam for my Canon Cinrma cameras (now a C70). With each release there was always a deal killer. Finally, Canon came out with a camera that ticks all my boxes. 4K 60 P limit isn’t great, but I can work around it.
My A7IV just came in yesterday because, even though I had $5000 in Canon glass, I could do the overheating and 30 minute record limit of the R6. Then they come out with this the next day...
