    2:00 The best system to switch between stills and video is on the Canon R5, where you just tap the M-FN button right next to the shutter button and it does the exact same thing as the R6II photo/video switch. One button to bounce back and forth, it is instant and retains all those settings too. The R6II is good, but you have to move one of your hands to get to it. I wish they would make it the same as the R5 and just use the M-FN button to make it even faster.

    • @mvp_kryptonite

      Iv only briefly used the R5 and setting the record settings on photo mode and just press the record button is great. I enjoyed that mode dial and think Canon should filter it down to as many bodies as they can. Not just the R, R5 & R3. But I dislike that only top end cameras have any mappable button where the R7 is limited.

The other thing that makes me want to stick to my Canon R6 is the codecs in video. ALL-I could have been added. We had it in the cheaper Canon R. for those who are considering to buy this camera, stop and think about.
    Do image of r6 and r6 mark ii really have different? But double the price.
    Do Cannon rf mount have a good choice of lens? Sure L lens is very good, but it's not cheap, Sony g master also have the same image quality and much lighter weight. For budget lens? Sorry, cannon don't even have a good option.😂
    Colour science? Sony and Nikon isn't that far behind, with minor editing, they can look the same. If you are not a professional photographer and just want to use the image straight out of camera, Fujifilm might be the better option for you. Same level of colour science and film simulation but lighter in weight cheaper in price.
    40fps? who even use that 😂, sd card and you computer storage aren't free. Unless you are a professional wildlife or sports photographer. But why don't you buy Canon r3 or Sony A1. Price aren't huge here considering you use it for works.

    • @zegzbrutal
      @zegzbrutal Год назад

      R6ii and R6 both have similar starting price. What's the double this thing you on about.
      When comes to budget lens. You can get EF 16-35L & EF24-70 f4 IS. Or the Tamron EF 35-150. And anything above 100mm can be covered well by RF100-400.
      There is 3rd party EF-RF adapters with drop in ND/CPL, approx an extra ~200g but saves money on buying dedicated lens filters.
      No one force you to use 40fps, you can still go slower with 20fps(e.shutter)or back to mechanical.
      R6ii is much better video&fast action hybrid camera than a7iv. And if you are stills shooter only. A7r3/4 is always available.

      That's what I am doing now, so I can sure it's not a great idea.
      3. Yes, Canon body are good, lens are great. I know that as I am also a canon user. But more I use the camera, I hate the lens system more

    • @zegzbrutal
      @zegzbrutal Год назад

      @@samuelyeung03 1. R6 started just under 20K HKD, R6ii is 19.xK HKD. Barely a difference. Street price for R6 is 16k(new) to 14k(Good condition 2nd hand).
      2&3. That's up to personal reference. I don't mind CoG on lens(left hand) instead of body(right hand).
      Since I love to use 24mm on my standard zoom, e mount equivalent 24-70/24-105 is not that much lighter than EF/RF. Only Z mount does a good job in its standard zoom.

    The real question for us Canon video & hybrid users: Do the Custom modes finally work for video? 4k 24, 4k60 & 1080@180 at the flip of the C1, C2, C3 switch?!?!?

    It is impossible to fix hot pixels with clean now menu. I’ve got about 4-6 hot pixels and don’t know what can I do.

    This video is fantastic. A quick question if you (and the youtube community) have the time: What are your thoughts on IPB vs All-I compression for 4K 24 and 60 video? I shoot mainly wedding videos so there is alot of detailed movement in the vail, dancing, and leaves...etc. I only have experience in All-I, so have no context for the functionality and editability of IPB. Thanks.

      Hey Chris, Thanks for the kind words and for watching! Both can look good, it just depends on the shot and what you deem acceptable. I would suggest renting a camera that can shoot ALL-I and IPB and do your own tests to see whether you are happy with the compression of IPB. Jake

    Perfect camera, apart from that damn rear LCD. I really don’t want to have to reach, pull out and twist every time I need the screen. Then I have to look to the left and leave it sticking out like a sore thumb. Canon please start to offer us a choice, as most filmmakers aren’t interested in just vlogging.
    The tilt screen is so much faster, convenient and unobtrusive. Thank you.
