    Hey everyone, for my first Halloween video ever on this channel, I decided to make some spooky shaker bats. I also tried out a couple of new methods for how I seal my shaker fillings in this video as well and I am loving the new methods so far. Please check out Amy Made here on RUclips, she is who inspired me to test out these new methods. I will have another Halloween inspired video uploaded next week so stay tuned for that. oh my..thanks for the shoutout! And I just realized I made a mistake on my shaker video after watching your's!! I said use a 1/8 inch hole puncher instead of 1/16 inch. OMG WHOOPS LOL. Also I love the shakers! I didn't realize circuit can cut such tiny texts. I so want one !

    • @SweetArtCrafts
      @SweetArtCrafts  3 года назад

      Yeah sometimes my cricket messes up the smaller text so I have to redo them but usually it works, I think I prefer it over foiling since the results are a bit more consistent. And thank you again for your amazing knowledge

    I watched your videos and you are the reason why I started making resin charms. But I have a question. I want to make a shoe resin charm. But cant find a mold and don't have the artistic ability to make them. What do I do.

    • @SweetArtCrafts
      @SweetArtCrafts  3 года назад +1

      Are you looking for a shoe mold that's a shaker? I think I've seen some shoe molds on Etsy and Aliexpress but I do not think they were shaker molds. You could also get a custom designed mold done by a mold maker from Instagram, I used to offer this but stopped a few months ago. If you look through the #resinmolds or #resinmoldmaker on Instagram you should be able to find a mold maker who takes customs because the one that I did know I believe she stopped doing them as well.

      Thank you!! I am so glad to hear that you are taking the necessary precautions when working with resin, I've noticed that some people think that UV resin is exempt from using a mask when it still emits fumes when its curing. I want to get into making hair clips as well, I bet yours came out really cute!! 💖

    I am so glad this came at this time! I did my first shaker a couple days ago and something I had never noticed was that the hole and the cure UV resin blob on the side STAY there. I thought it wouldn’t be very aesthetically pleasing, but I see everyone doing it, and I couldn’t think of something better, but now I see a new idea! Thank you! That was super helpful. And the charms?? SO CUTE! Also, Clearcast is an AMAZING resin, I watched a video before buying my first batch of resin as I didn’t want to have to buy multiple brands, and the video compared some resins in 100 degree weather, direct sunlight, to see if they yellowed, and clearcast was one of the few that didn’t. I just don’t see big channels using it so idk if it really was as good or I didn’t know enough about resin lol But very highly recommend! Thanks for the code as well!

    • @SweetArtCrafts
      @SweetArtCrafts  3 года назад +1

      Yeah I didn't really see many people using this resin as well so I too wasn't sure if it was going to be good or not but it's honestly my favorite casting resin, just hoping the new doming resin I bought is good too! I bought 2 more bottles of the ClearCast since I went through my first set so fast lol

    • @BrendraTime
      @BrendraTime 3 года назад

      @@SweetArtCrafts and what casting resin did you buy? was it the nouveau that you showed on your ig story (I think it was you who posted it, I don’t remember lol)? I use Counter Culture DIY Artist Resin, the green bottle, and so far so good (I’ve seen artsymadwoman use it for all her doming, so that’s why I got that)

    • @SweetArtCrafts
      @SweetArtCrafts  3 года назад +1

      MexiKen in this video I used Pro marine for doming. In my next video that will be released this week I will be using that Faux Rizzle resin I posted on my IG stories for doming. So far it’s really good. Just a lot of bubbles so you have to take more time to pop them but it cures really hard and it doesn’t overspill like the other resins I have used for doming. And since it cures really hard for the dome, you only need one layer. I had to do 2-3 layers with pro marine before the dome felt it was sturdy enough.

    • @BrendraTime
      @BrendraTime 3 года назад

      Oh wow I did not know that some weren’t as sturdy! I would
      have to get the faux rizzle one and compare it to mine! Thank you for all this information! It means a lot as you and artsymadwoman were both my biggest inspirations to start resin as a business :) Thank you so much💖

    Love this video!! I've watched it over and over because I love the way you got the clear with the black swirl in the background. It is pretty cool. I have a question about the eye hook size. What size eye hooks do you use for your keychains?? I'm so hooked now on shaker charm keychains. I know, I'm a little late to the party here but now I'm getting obsessed!! lol!! Thank you for sharing your talent and your videos!! keep them coming!!

    i love watching your videos!!! thank you so much for sharing your process!!! also ive tried making some resin shaker charms, and have used 2 types of casting resin but when i fill the charms with half water and half baby oil the resin seems to summit into where the charms are... like the back curves into where the hole for charms go... i dont know if im explaining myself well enough or if anyone knows why this happens? theyre all well cured and itisnt untill i add the baby oil that they start to curve

    How many times would you dome if selling? I also love the Amy made videos! So interesting- loved your technique by using clear before the black and orange for the shaker! 🥺💕

    • @SweetArtCrafts
      @SweetArtCrafts  3 года назад

      I feel like it depends on the resin that your are using to dome with. I have tried a few and some of them, like pro marine, I have to do 2-3 layers of doming because with only one layer it feels squishy and I can feel the baby oil in the piece. Art N' Glow is a bit better and I typically only need one layer but for some reason that resin is always pulling away from the edges of the pieces for me so I end up doing 2 layers of doming at times. In my upcoming video this week I will be using Faux Fizzle's Nouveau which I only needed 1 layer of doming and it felt rock solid.

    All Epoxy will yellow over time even when not in direct sunlight. It just happens unfortunately. Idk how long it took your resin to yellow but it couldve been a bad batch. Ive never used the type you dome with tho.

    • @SweetArtCrafts
      @SweetArtCrafts  3 года назад +1

      Theresa Ainge yeah I understand that. These were pieces I made a few months ago that already yellowed, which I also have some pieces from a year ago that don’t look yellowed at all. So that’s why I think it’s the resin.
