I really like the idea of pokemon being able to be summoned from the future through something like Bill's time machine, and them acting as sort of the opposite of fossil pokemon.
I wish they make a region where you can catch fossil Pokemons freely roaming in the world. This region could have somehow survived the extinction events
Can you draw some unoffical-but-official Pokemon/formes? Like Pokemon/formes that are confirmed, but we've never seen, like the original dragon or the natural Genesect.
I would have never imagined that two of my favorite themes, Speculative Evolution and Pokemon would be covered in a TrueGreen video of all things. Thank you! I'm eager for even more of these series where you design new Pokemon!
I know right! When I first saw the video I thought it would be based on like technology or something but got infinity more excited when I heard him say speculative evolution! I have to say though I’m disappointed that this video isn’t as popular as his others which means he probably won’t make video like this again
My headcanon is Agitact was also the result of procreation between the fitter snorlaxes and the thyphlosion species. That would be cool. And it might also make sense because Humans are sort of doing the same thing with rhinos and breeding them with different species of rhinos to boost their population
I would have never guessed that Bladrake is a decendent from Klefki. and the idea of pokemon that life in the future is such a cool idea. Great video!!
Watching this after Pokemon Violet came out with the future paradox pokemon makes me think they should have added some organic (not machine) pokemon in the mix too, it would have been so interesting
This is low-key cooler than fossil mons and regional variants combined. Please make this part of the Asone region and make more of this I love this concept and support it all the way
This is low-key a great idea for a Pokémon spinoff series - maybe you're involved in some kind of dimension/time-hopping scenario that brings you to various areas throughout the Pokémon world that have changed completely due to future scenarios, resulting in new pokémon and new societies
The whole "awake snorlax looks like typhlosion" is actually pretty cool. I know these are meant to be future pokemon but perhaps these active Snorlax needed to develop elemental attacks, like you said, but eventually it kept evolving fire attacks specifically until Munchlax became Cyndaquil and Snorlax became Typhlosion. Idk, but the relationships and darwinian evolution of pokemon has always been interesting to me.
This is actually a really cool idea. Maybe some legendary pokemon caused time portals to appear, which bring both fossil pokemon to the current day and these new future pokemon back in time. You could even have sidequests where you have to help a scientist find all the future pokemon and figure out which pokemon they evolved from by bringing them in for some tests (humane ones, of course). You'd of course have to train them for a bit so they trust you enough to go to the tests, and maybe they would have a few guesses for which pokemon they came from - then you need to find those possible pokemon and test their compatibility.
It also makes a lot of sense that the rare members of the species are the ones that still have some of the traits (even if it’s just colours) of the Pokémon that haven’t evolved as much
I don’t think I tell you enough, but you are so incredibly creative - and it’s amazing watching you go through the process of creating these Pokémon, you’re very skilled with your art tech!
Speculative zoology is a great and fun rabbit hole to dive down if you ever want. Curious Archive has a bunch of videos that summarize works. It’s such a fun idea and I hope you research it 😁
I love how you added shiny versions. Most people who do this don’t care for making shinies. As a shiny hunter myself it felt nice cuz it means we feel appreciated
I could definitely see them working this into a mechanic like the Ultra Wormholes, travelling to alternate future worlds/timelines that have undergone various drastic changes, finding these pokemon living there.
I liked your premise for Sinkzel. Would love to see another one of these episodes. I had a thought, what if Dratini became more like it’s name and became smaller, like fit in the palm of your hand small, and it’s evolutions abandoned the metamorphosis that turned it into a flying derpy dragon, and instead stayed in the water, like how the Axolotl typically doesn’t become a salamander. So this little descendant of Dratini becomes more of a very streamlined elegant sleek sea serpent as it evolves, retaining some of that familiar sense of minimalism while not being too boring. Rather than being perfectly round, it could take on more of an oval or egg like cross section, with the body flattened a bit so its body is less wide than it is tall.
that brutotal is really cool but imo should be a special attacker with high physical defenses. Lore-wise it makes sense because its still the same reuniclus underneath it just made its exterior stronger to protect itself. And in terms of usage it would give it a cooler niche
AHHHHHHHH. Speculative Biology is my current hyperfixation so I’m not even done but I’m tears of JOY from this video. I wonder if you found out from Biblardion/Artefexian or if you just stumbled across it- it’s such a niche fictional hobby, let alone scientific studies.
It would be interesting to see a "future" pokemon game where things like yhis happen, with pokemon that have obvious relations to their ancestors, but still different enough to change the game
I think that the sinkzel should still have the 2 tails that twist up like Tails from sonic. That is their most recognizable trait to me... taking that and the floatie away makes it just look like a sealion to me
I feel like this would be a different way of the Ultra Space or worm holes. Like you reach in and get a future form from another universe or possibly just the future.
I like the concept of speculative evolution, I’ve actually made some Pokémon based on the concept, mainly route one birds and rodents based on creatures from an old mocumentary called “the future is wild”
This is amazing! All the thinking behind each Pokémon, from its reasons to be down to stats, is great, well-developed and properly rationalized. It makes them REAL, even the more 'outlandish' theory of Reuniclus' new evolution - after all, compare a chihuahua with a wolf: there were many minds behind that process. It may be a bit more literal with Reuniclus, but if we can have alternative evolutions depending on where a Shellder bites a Slowpoke, there can be Psychic Types using their minds.
"The year is 15,377 AD, for millennia us humans have escaped into space, in order to avoid the approaching asteroid, but when we returned to our old home, it has been completely changed. The world is now a barren wasteland, The ice caps have melted and the world is flooded severely, The pokemon we knew and loved have drastically changed. Donphans has been reduced in size as to survive in this world where food is sparse, thus they are now called: Punyphans. In the sea, as the old apex predators have been wiped out, new ones replace them, the old Floatzels have evoloved into the new Sinkzel, a fully aquatic apex predator.Back on land, an unexpected development has occured, It turns out that, according to the genetics, the new land predator, Bladrake, is actually descended from the small and unassuming Klefki. Bladrakes are quite aggressive and cunning, so in responce, some reuniclus have evolved into the physically capable Brutotal to defend themselves from the new threat, but both of these pokemon fear the smae thing..... the ruthless and gluttonous Agitact, and aggressive and brutal apex predator."
About the second concept with the post-global warming scenario, I was thinking about turning an ice Pokèmon turning into a water Pokèmon. For example, Avalugg would be a a water type, but I'm not sure how you'd design that. A better idea might be Abomasnow, where they are a fire and grass type, since another effect of global warming is forest fires.
