I freaking love the ocean and the thought of those horrifying sea monsters existing. I watch videos on them all the time, and i even plan to get a massive shoulder tattoo of a giant pacific octopus, and to match that, on my other shoulder, i intend to get a horror style tattoo of Cthulhu
This is probably one of the more typically scary pokemon but I was scared shitless by Yamask when I was younger, I lost sleep over it and I'm pretty sure I cried a few times just from thinking about it. I'm not sure if it was just the design, the fact that it used to be human, or the possession thing, but something about it was absolutely terrifying to me. I think it's kind of cool now, though.
My number one here is probably Black Kyurem because I played Black 2 as a kid and the opening in that game used to creep the heck out of me. The music gave off vibes that there was a monster coming to rip you to shreds and Black Kyurem shows up looking EXACTLY like it would do that. This was probably the only Pokémon who gave me jumpscares.
Back in Pokemon White, my first pokemon game, I was incredibly unnerved by the giant chasm because of the lore of Lacunosa Town. When I reached that small pond, I was in for a fright when that blizzard happened. Kyurem by itself didn’t scare me, but the build up sure did.
there is one Pokémon that singlehandedly made me afraid of the ocean. I'm TERRIFIED of seeing something like this pokémon in the ocean, even though it's incredibly rare even by Pokémon standards: Kyogre it's massive, it has sharp teeth, menacing eyes, and it rules over the entire ocean 7.8/10 stop giving me nightmares, please
I remember encountering a wild Araquanid for the first time in Sun and Moon and being totally freaked out by it, and I'm not even scared of spiders normally. It took me a long time to be able to look at it without feeling creeped out. Definitely my scariest Pokemon for sure.
Your videos are making me realize that I have the opposite of megalophobia. Guzzlord is one of my favourite Pokemon and I just want to snuggle him. Then again, I've always enjoyed feeling small, tucked away and safe.
I'm surprised you didn't mention Dragalge. It spits acid that can dissolve steel, so imagine the gruesome injuries it would cause to humans or Pokémon.
You know. The Mr. Mime thing gave me an idea. The story of a Mime Jr. Being all cute and friendly. Just dreams of growing up into a big string Mr. Mine and Mr. Ryme one day. But it’s owner is creeped out by its older evolutions and constantly keeps it from evolving. And since pokemon do age regardless of evolution. It’s stuck as a grown, old Pokémon as it ages in a babies body. It grows resentful over the years till it finally manages to evolve and kills its owner in anger and revenge
There is something creepy about Golurk too if you know about the mythology that its design references. Like its not really a conscious being, its just animated clay that has no feelings or free will of its own.
Two Pokémon that just freaked me out the minute I saw them were Spiritomb and Galarian Meowth. I’ve grown more fond of Spiritomb over the years, but when I was younger, I was unsettled by its warped, abstract face that looked like it jumped out of a Picasso painting. And Galarian Meowth looks outright feral compared to its other regional cousins, with its giant, yellow eyes and Cheshire grin.
I have an intense fear of ceramic dolls or those extremely thin non human like mannequins. And while Claydol or Baltoy don’t really creep me out I’d love to see more of those possessed toy type Pokémon. Something that looks vaguely human but with longer limbs, thinner Frame, and an empty face.
The pokemon that scares me the most is Spoink. Its existence is an existential nightmare. With every game it appears in I wish its pokedex entries change from "it bounces to make its heart beat" to "its heartbeat causes it to bounce on its tail"
Definitely agree with you about Steelix. Something about its face and worm like movements make to an instant nope! Also Glalie is unsettling even before its mega-form. WHY GIVE IT AN OPEN MOUTH?!
I actually have all of those fears as well! I am actually a little scared of Registeel because of the creepy robot machine sounds it made when chasing Ash and the gang in Lucario and the Mystery of Mew.

It's kind of ironic that I had never paid much attention to Claydol at all before this video but when I saw the 3d model moving around in the video while he talked about how creepy it is I was just thinking "was this thing always this cute? I don't remember it being this cute" lol I like the big round eyes. It's not very different from Magnemite, Unown or Beldum to me. And I think those are all adorable, so yeah. On that note, I thought he was gonna at least mention Magnezone with where this video was going. Huge ufo like mechanical thing with that one big red eye. Tho I guess the fact it still has the other magnemite stuck to it as it's "arms" kinda make a little more goofy.
I can feel you in many ways. Deoxys frightened me at first when I encountered it back in Emerald! The Dex Entry didn't made it better. It made me felt uncomfortable to enter his Dungeon in Team Red. It was just illusions of itself you had to beat one at every floor. Even the look at his sprite which appears every time hit said something was unsettling. But the more I used it in Battle and at contests I started to like it more and more... Now I'm obsessed with it's design since it has one of my two favorite types I love ~ The Ultra Beasts are really creepy. I can't stand needles I hate them so much and what on earth are Guzzlord and Celesteela existing? god are they terrifying. Giantamax Pokémon made me afraid too. I didn't know that a huge Eevee with this "Eeeeeevooooiiii!" would made me feel uncomfortable Grimmsnarl is... I dunno why I sort of like the design but... Why is that so perfecty ugly? My best friend is arachnophobic she and an other friend both said that Araquanid kind of make them remember of a spider And I'm just afraid of Pinsir because Ash had bad thoughts about how a Pinsir would cut his Metapod in two pieces damn...
I have no idea why I personally find Naganadel kinda cute, lol. Though it doesn't hurt that it seems like it would actually be rather friendly, given that Poipole is at least liked enough to be a starter in its own world, as I think most starters do tend to be friendly.
Looking at Stackatacka again, it really reminds me of the Guardians from Breath of the Wild. Maybe that's why its always been unsettling to me, just a look at it and the intense piano theme starts playing... (or maybe because I have a general fear of eyes). Still, I like that the Ultra Beasts have a common theme of being unnerving since it emphasises their alien origins
Uuuugh fucking Deoxys. I was TERRIFIED of aliens as a child, like a full blown phobia, and that thing was peak nightmare fuel for me in my younger years. I’m just glad I grew out of it before UBs became a thing because Nihilego and whatever the fuck it did to Lusamine when it fused with her would have literally kept me from playing the game/watching the anime.
"well hopefully this video can make your day" Yeah sure, ''a comprehensive and thorough explanation about how terrifying a cute monster from a children's video game actually is'' would absolutely make me feel better.
This is sort of not in the spirit of the video, since it's more leaning on the Pokedex entry than the visual design, but I've always been really terrified of Shedinja. One of my greatest recurring fears in life is some seemingly inocuous act leading to dire consequences that spiral out of control and ruin my life, in ways that sound goofy but feel real - I didn't hold the elevator doors open for my boss, so they're mad at me, so I get fired, I can't find a job, I become homeless, I die of cold and starvation - that sort of ridiculous thing. The idea that the innocent act of looking into the hole on its back for a split second could suck my soul out and leave me an unfeeling husk absolutely plays on that paranoia, it's the ultimate way a tiny lapse in judgement can horribly backfrie immediately.
Pinsir is terrifying because I watched a Pokemon video that was pretty disturbing and the teeth and it's sharp horns just make it more creepy I would never use that thing on my team and I would just never get any Pokemon cards of it
The nod towards the old Pokemon content in the thumbnail instantly caught my attention, perhaps way quicker than it would have had this been a normal thumbnail
My main phobias are arachnophobia (spiders), entomophobia (insects), pyrophobia (fire), and kamilopardaliphobia (giraffes). So any 'mon with an open flame (really most fire types if I stop and think about it), 'mons based off spiders or insects (basically bug types) and girafarig and its new evo are just an immediate "nope. Nuh. Nuh-uh." to me. It's a shame because there are certain designs I think are cute *as pokèmon* (like Ledian or Cyndaquil) but if they were real I'd freeze in place and wet myself. I'm also kind of creeped out by 'mons with big mouths like Victreebel, but that doesn't feed into a specific phobia.
This was honestly interesting. I also don't think you're a wimp. Everyone is afraid of something. I'm still afraid of the dark as an adult. Also funnily enough Banette is one of my favourite ghost types.
I can respect a man going on screen and talking about how he’s scared of cute children’s cartoons for 13 minutes. I don’t relate at all, but I do respect it lol.
If pokemon were real, I think Araquanid would have an argument for the creepiest of them all. Why? Well, its not just a spider, its a 1.8 M spider, or 6 feet if you prefer. I don't think I need to say anything else.
@@hazakurasuyama9016 There's some that actually do, kind of. They still need to go to the surface to breath air every once in a while, but they can stay a long time underwater. Hell, the point of araquanid is to flip the idea of the water spider on its head, since the irl one essentially goes scuba diving.

Top 10 Reasons why Looker from Pokemon needs actual therapy
i love your commentary! always so entertaining :)
“He’s invited to my wedding,” has to be the funniest phrase in this video
A Halloween related vid, yay
Edit: Also Happy Halloween, Ron
"well hopefully this video can make your day"
Yeah sure, ''a comprehensive and thorough explanation about how terrifying a cute monster from a children's video game actually is'' would absolutely make me feel better.
Who's gonna tell Ron that Mimes are real?
I loled at the Ambipom, but deep down I understand, monkeys make me uncomfortable too
"WhY DoEs RoN WaNt tO aSsAuLt A PuRpLe MoNkEy"
Pinsir is terrifying because I watched a Pokemon video that was pretty disturbing and the teeth and it's sharp horns just make it more creepy I would never use that thing on my team and I would just never get any Pokemon cards of it
I legitimately thought this was a Jwittz video so I did a double take when I heard the intro 😅
Happy Halloween Ron!
I love Cacturne. I had ono during an Omega Ruby playthrough and it was a monster
I saw that Banette in the background. 👀
I love how Ron has a phobia of black and white and tells us we evolved with it
If pokemon were real, realistically I'd be scared of all of them lol. But I've always wished for a Cacturne bodyguard to keep me safe from intruders 😂
Haven’t watched Ron’s channel in a while, glad to be back
The nod towards the old Pokemon content in the thumbnail instantly caught my attention, perhaps way quicker than it would have had this been a normal thumbnail
When is your next part of best areas in Pokemon region coming
*sigh* gone and reported.
I can respect a man going on screen and talking about how he’s scared of cute children’s cartoons for 13 minutes.
I don’t relate at all, but I do respect it lol.
Normal people when they see a banette behind the: 😱
Me patiently waiting for a banette to appear to add it to my team: 🙂
the thumbnail feels like old school ron
Just the humor man made this list based video all the more entertaining
This is The only reason why you cannot go in the tall grass without choosing your starter Pokemon
Useless video?
Truegreen7: Yes.
3:56 nice chills voice!
what makes it worse for naganadel is poison type plus dragon type
If pokemon were real, I think Araquanid would have an argument for the creepiest of them all. Why? Well, its not just a spider, its a 1.8 M spider, or 6 feet if you prefer. I don't think I need to say anything else.
Yeah also real spiders can’t live in water… this one can… YOURE NOT SAFE
@@hazakurasuyama9016 There's some that actually do, kind of. They still need to go to the surface to breath air every once in a while, but they can stay a long time underwater. Hell, the point of araquanid is to flip the idea of the water spider on its head, since the irl one essentially goes scuba diving.
@@Rarest26 that’s nightmare fuel
If you have seen the live action "Detective Pikachu" movie, I do not blame anyone for having a fear of Mr. Mime
"truly chilling"... you just couldn't help yourself 🤣
