Regarding the Gym Leaders being RELATED to other characters: Theses relationships have nothing to do with their in-game story or character, they are just fun design easter eggs so I thought I'd mention them in the video. Only Daniel, Noelle and Aden have explicit relatives, as a fun way to expand the lore of the characters they relate to. There is logic to all the relationships though: Daniel trained his son to be a strong trainer, who rebelled and left the region. Tera came from Sinnoh to research. Layla’s ESP is genetic and therefore produced two prodigies. Hakim is part of a family business. Suri gave Malva her career connections. Noelle has a stronger sister. Aden was an initial investor in his cousin’s companies. Asone is a huge region, that values family connections, like I said, so I made it part of the video, but since I spend 95% of each section talking about these characters and only mention a sentence about their relatives, I think I gave them enough depth to stand on their own. I hope you enjoyed regardless. But if it bothers you too much, just forget the relationships that Tera, Layla, Hakim and Suri have. It's that simple. I literally spent, like, a cumulative 30 seconds talking about it anyways.
So is Rafi not related to any other character? Cause you mentioned that each gym leader was related to an existing canon character, but no one was mentioned in his segment (or here). Or is that being saved for later?
@@SpiderRiderKya while not said Rafi resembles Raihan in appearance as well as the very self centred nature ( Raihan constantly taking selfie’s as seen in his gym battle and Rafi’s jealousy of the player) so I think the two are connected
The idea of bringing back HMs in a way that doesn't take up a move slot is interesting, as we've recently moved away from them. With the whole theme of Knowledge and Wisdom, it would be interesting to see the region's professor try to study the origins of TMs and HMs
I can see a way that it works is, the fact that the pokemon in the region are more intelligent, their brains have the capacity for one more move(slot), but it's only used for HMs
This is what I've posted on IG before on how I think HMs should work: HMs didn't age well. In the way that overworld obstacles have been handled since Gen 7 regarding game progression, I like the way that Let's Go did it, personally. I have always thought HMs should have been techniques to use in the overworld, but not in-battle moves. Like every Pokémon had 4 technique slots, and they are able to learn hidden techniques equivalent to what that Pokémon could conceivably learn (like Sandslash could have Cut, Dig, Rock Smash and Rock Climb, for example, but none of them in-battle moves. Those could still be Earthquake, Stone Edge, Brick Break & Slash, or whatever).
If you use the Poketactic Dodge, your move that turn is slightly weaker. (So Block is a viable option, if you can tank a hit and want to land a large blow)
Do you take criticism? All jokes aside, I genuinely think a lot of your gym leaders are kinda boring and can be designed better, so I wanna give you ideas on how to improve. Layla, for instance. She's kinda boring, just a girl wearing a T shirt and shorts. Overall I can't see the design being in a Pokemon game at all. The biggest thing that stands out is the shirt, in Pokemon, no design with a Pokemon on the shirt has ever just been that pokemon on a blank background, I feel like making it more interesting would be a good start. The 7th gym leader is also really bland, his outfit could use intricate patterns to stand out, or at least something. Personally, the worst offender is the 4th Leader, he literally looks like he could be an NPC trainer. The designs aren't bad per se, just boring and bland, I could not see them being approved to be in an actual pokemon game ever. I'd suggest taking a step back and looking at characters designs from the modern pokemon games to get a good scope of things, thank you if you read all of this and sorry for the inconvenience on twitter lol.
I'm so incredibly excited for all of this, I've always been a geography nerd my whole life so seeing a really underrepresented area like the middle east get so much love makes me really happy, and I ADORE the character designs, especially Rafi. I think you struck a pretty good balance between "characters that reflect the culture well" and "characters you'd realistically expect to see in a pokemon game". Excited for the next part about the rest of the plot!
i think he focused a littel to much on jewish culture and hebrew language also most characters look white/jewish but the middle east houses a large range of colors races and culture, making them all related to pre-existing wasn't a good idea sense it relay on already known character lore, design choice and other... also the naming methods are nice and all, but why mostly hebrew wordplay ? why not arabic, turkish, persian, amazigh , i know he's jewish and that what he know best but he choice the whole middle east so he better give everybody time to shine
@@axolotlinabucket1287 I mean I think he does a good job of showcasing different cultures races etc in his region, so I’d say I disagree with that. As for the naming methods, I can understand that but I don’t think it matters all that much. He’s probably not quite as knowledgeable on those places and their vernacular, or how to apply it to his naming
@@nebula8893 i mean yes his work is fantastic but couldn't he try to get someone to help with the language and name like let say hakeem (theres more than one way to write it) thats an arabic name, i think he said something about choosing the name becuase it sound like *"hawk" * but the name *"saqr"* would be a better fit sense it literally means "falcon" also the outfits are lacking cultural touch, rafi's, adan's and suri's outfits fit in as middle eastern inspired so way not more adan is an a city based of dubai and abu Dhabi yet his wear isn't kandura its just a similar looking arabian dress, like there so many littel details that he needs to put work on, i dont blam the guy on not puting them in, i don't expect from him to do hours of research on a damn dress but at least get someone to help so the other middle eastern culture in asone are not half-assed compared to the other ones
@@axolotlinabucket1287 I think if this ever gets even more serious, like he changes his mind and DOES get a fan made game made with rights from Nintendo or something, then I’m sure things like that would be ironed out. But do keep in mind that it has to fit within the realms of what’s realistic in Pokémon, so the extra attire you mentioned makes sense to me but a name like saqr might be a bit too hard for kids to understand. As Pokémon is a kids genre, I think that is a factor that should play a role when naming. Just my opinion though, I think it would be great if there was some extra inspiration but I also don’t think it jeopardizes the games immersion too greatly without it, especially with all the extra effort he’s done in order to keep the games horizons wide

The amount of dedication and creativity put into this series is insane! Truly something else. Great job! Really love all the gym leaders but I’d have to say Layla and Hakim would probably be my favorites. Love these videos! So excited for more!
The amount of work you've put into this region is inspirational. The gym leaders having unique relationships with each other is so interesting and the dynamics all feel realistic. Can't wait to watch the rest of the lore videos

This is freaking fantastic. I am simultaneously stoked for all of the backstory and characters you're going to introduce to us and upset because we'll never actually get to play this spectacular game! I fell in love with Layla immediately; ghost Pokémon have always been my favorite typing, and the town where she and the refugees live in harmony with the forest Pokémon is such a cool idea.
From a few fakemon to a fully fledged fan region. I'm very proud 😭 Ngl, almost every gym leader have relative on another region is a bit weird to me. Like these random gym leader and chairman rose have relative that lives in the same region
I used to work at a grade school and we had a lot of students whose families had moved to the US from Iran. They would tell me stuff about the times they visited and whatnot. Some of them also liked Pokemon so I wish I could go back and show them this series cause it's so cool to see this fan region and I bet they would love it.
Clicked as fast as I could!! You're my favorite Poketuber and every day, your content impresses or inspires me! As someone who plays Pokemon for the characters, I'm really excited to see what you've come up with here!
If this was a real region it would defenitly be one of my favourites. I love the complex lore of the characters and the way Asone looks. Also great seeing some if these new pokemon together in teams. Awesome work!
I absolutely adore the mechanic of using an HM within the Gym to learn it and then having to fight to earn its use in the overworld. I love the gym leaders, too. I would be so hyped to play this game!
Ok i took a break from poketubers a while ago and just got back into it after your first asone video. Thank you for doing this because i am thinking about doing a fanmade region with a few of my friends. I totally forgot i wasn't subbed so here you go!
Notice that the only reason the gym leaders hate hakim is because they are simple business rivals, or they hate literally everyone. That is because Hakim is the best
12:03 I like the image of you just going up the tower, running into random office workers, and just yelling *"FIGHT ME!"* before chucking a Pokeball at their face and having your Pokemon beat them up even though they're not Pokemon trainers xD
This looks amazing! That new battle mechanic is a litteral game changer, I like that. I also can't wait to see how Shemorera and Azarera fit in this story.
poketactics are interesting, feels like there could be more though; and in competitive play, 2 might be better, increasing strategy. looking forward to the map

Havent tuned into this creative process in awhile but wow has it grown so much! Not only would this be an amazing game to play, but an anime to take place here would also be extremely interesting
This is my new favourite region, well done you’ve put so much effort into it and I’ve been watching this series from the start and it’s incredible I hope you get so much support for this cause u so deserve it 🙌🙌🙌
This project is amazing so far, but seeing the full teams of these gym leaders makes me realize how many traditionally masculine, tough and scary Pokemon you created, and how few beautiful/cute feminine ones. It's a similar issue that even Sugimori had, which is why he brought in Atsuko Nishida to design some of the more "cute" mons, including the starters, Pikachu and Eevee's initial evolutions.
With what we know so far, for me I would love to see this be made into like generation 9 of the pokemon franchise, if not then maybe like a spinoff version. But if its too much for the makers I won't force them too. I am really excited for the next few videos about this and as well as upcoming videos. Keep up the good work
Finally a Pokemon game that's not just about catching pokemon, beat gym, complete. I know a lot of games are different but I like the post game and I love developing relationships and creating new lands. This seems like a lot of fun!!!!
My son watches all your videos and he TOTALY thinks you should pitch this to someone at the Pokémon company. Maybe one day this could be a real game or you could help the company itself develop more great games in the future!!! Well done!! 👍🏻
Just an idea, but you could have a mini game based after you defeat the second gym, where you can get involved in the archaeology around the region and maybe dig up fossils or artifacts that could be put in a museum somewhere, that you progressively fill up.
Great ideas dude I find it awesome when poketubers make their own region Btw tbh the fire/electric gym leader could have had a heliolisk because of the energy theme
I really like all of the gym leaders, but I think it's unnecessary for almost all of them to be related to other canonical pokemon trainers in some way.
I remember when I first joined this community for the Top 10 videos. Man, how times have changed. (Not that I’m complaining! You are one of my favorite youtubers and I love what you have been doing!)
I love the Pikachu and Pokéball designs on the beach of Arbadi! (Also, heh heh, I wasn't looking at the screen when you described the first Gym challenge and I heard, "You must go through a maze of *cheese,"* and I was like, "Wait. What?")
So much work but truly a labor of love. There are so many little details celebrating the real world locations and lore where the game takes place and you managed to stay true to the Pokemon world as well. I wish it were a real game so I could play it.
With my fake on region, I didn’t actually make and new Pokémon accept new legendaries. I call my Region “Verosa”. It has 3 starters water, fire and grass but instead they are Pokémon who are already starters, poplio line for water, Fuecoco line for fire, and the treecko line for grass. My eight gym leaders type specialties are Fighting, Rock, Normal, Bug, Electric, Water, Fairy, And grass.
7:52 ''.. and a bit of Ankara.'' I had sent this to my Turkish friends, they were happy that somewhere in their country was used to base an area on a game.
Oh wow. This video was amazing! Great job, Ron. I was hooked from the very start. The fact that the first gym leader, an old man, likes memes was just amazing! XD I can’t wait for the next videos, this project of yours is amazing and I’m a big fan! I’ve been watching your videos since I think before you started including your art in them and I’ve loved every video. Especially the art related videos (I’m an artist myself). Have a great day! 😁
I’m always absolutely amazed by Ron’s knowledge and dedication to creating the Asone Region. I’ve been looking forward to this video for ages, and it did not disappoint! Thank you for all of your efforts for this series.
I really like how all the gym leaders have different relationships with each other and are related to other Pokémon characters. I'm really excited to make my Asone team!
Love the video, the characters, the Pokémon, the region! I only have a little nitpick. I really like when characters have links to previous regions/characters, but the fact that almost every gym leader is related to previous characters ends up feeling less special and it comes off as if you felt the characters/region couldn't stand up on their own since they almost all rely on previous characters. Which is wrong! Your creation is good enough to stand on its own! Keep up the good work Ron!
I know this was not said in the video and considering how the Asone gym leaders are related to a previous gen's gym leader/elite four/plot relevant trainer, Rafi looks like he could be related to Grant(rock type leader from Kalos, gen 6)
This is so amazing 😍😍😍😍 I love the inspired worlds the most, our planet has too many amazing places to explore other than the 7 wonders or what's on mainstream tv. I started noticing the videos on your region today and am immediately hooked. As an amateur writer, I can't wait to see the story video
I would be so cool to see this as an actual pokemon game. I'd totally buy both versions in a heartbeat. The amount of creativity with the asone region is amazing and all of the Pokemon look incredible and I could totally see them in a Pokemon game. 💙 :)
I CAN'T BELIEVE THERE'S A GYM LEADER WITH THE SAME SPELLING AS MY NAME!!! Ron, you are freaking awesome.

dude, congratulations! i’ve been following your videos for a while, and, although i think your pokémon designs and the ideas behind them are good, you really shine in lore, world creating and game mechanics. i seem to resonate with your mindset (i like to think of it as somehow like mine: completionist? comprehensivist?), seen in the map, weather relations, city historic and economic focuses and characters’ motivations. (on that regard, i could not help recognizing the absence of “mainland arabia” -mecca, riyadh, you name it, when all the greater middle east is represented (super interesting and didactic); dlc? 9th gym? gymless city? i’m looking forward to watching the next video immediately.) finally, the tactics are, imo, a good implementation: whereas i do not enjoy each generation gimmick to be honest, the tactics you propose connect the game mechanics to what we see in the anime (when ash simply yells “evade!” and somehow it works out); all in all, your proposal helps make the franchise more cohesive. felicitaciones de nuevo.
Poke tactics is honestly such an obvious idea now that you bring it up. Unlike the megas, z moved, and dynamax, I feel tactics would do what the last three failed to do: add an actual layer of strategy to battle and not be a glorified nuke button.
What do you guys think of poke fusion as a region gimmick/mechanic??…like only select Pokémon are compatible to fuse with each other to create one new Pokémon like blastiose and Venusaur fusing creating venustoise in the anime… you must have both Pokémon in your party and the fusion can only be used once per battle and last for 3 turn…kinda like mega evolution

I love how Ron made the Gym Leaders have more lore with previous gym leaders/elite four from other regions. Also, that map? Nice job designing it.
I like that take on having the Gym Leaders teach HMs and Poketactics!
Tera: I love karate!
Daniel: I love karatay!
Suri: I love money-ay!
Rafi: I hate all of you.
I love the concepts behind these gym leaders there are pretty deep and the drawing are also so good very nice my man
All of the ost pokemon battle sound really great!◖⚆ᴥ⚆◗
Great ideas dude
I find it awesome when poketubers make their own region
Btw tbh the fire/electric gym leader could have had a heliolisk because of the energy theme
“Rafi is friends with no one and hates all the gym leaders” damn rafi
I really like all of the gym leaders, but I think it's unnecessary for almost all of them to be related to other canonical pokemon trainers in some way.
Bruh 1st gym leader is up to date on memes and is drawn in thhe "you know I had to do it to em" pose that's a hilarious touch.
Ron, you're AMAZING! You must be working hard on this, and that's much inspirational! You rock!
I remember when I first joined this community for the Top 10 videos. Man, how times have changed.
(Not that I’m complaining! You are one of my favorite youtubers and I love what you have been doing!)
If this was ever a game i would play it 24/7
I love the Pikachu and Pokéball designs on the beach of Arbadi!
(Also, heh heh, I wasn't looking at the screen when you described the first Gym challenge and I heard, "You must go through a maze of *cheese,"* and I was like, "Wait. What?")
Really like how much it seems like you want to bring the gym leaders into the story, especially with the post game
I love how much thought went into this! The battle mechanic is a pretty good idea as well
So much work but truly a labor of love. There are so many little details celebrating the real world locations and lore where the game takes place and you managed to stay true to the Pokemon world as well. I wish it were a real game so I could play it.
15:03 Rafi is friends with none and hates all the other gym leaders. Damn who hurt him
With my fake on region, I didn’t actually make and new Pokémon accept new legendaries.
I love all of this! Pls keep showin us what else is in this region!
7:52 ''.. and a bit of Ankara.'' I had sent this to my Turkish friends, they were happy that somewhere in their country was used to base an area on a game.
Thank you for all of your efforts for this series.
also I like it better when it comes to the elite four returning after the galar pokemon world.
5:19
For some reason all i can think of when someone says Ghost Forest is forest of illusion in Super Mario World
I really like how all the gym leaders have different relationships with each other and are related to other Pokémon characters. I'm really excited to make my Asone team!
this is AMAAAAZINGGGGG!
so proud of how this all came out!
13:11- "Who represents Galar's nobility", I thought we were talking about Asone
"you can learn to dodge"
Gohan: *shocked gasp*
I know this was not said in the video and considering how the Asone gym leaders are related to a previous gen's gym leader/elite four/plot relevant trainer, Rafi looks like he could be related to Grant(rock type leader from Kalos, gen 6)
Hopefully there's eventually going to be a full story for all of this!
Your so good at making that Pokémon art style it looks like it’s made by the company itself
I love this video, you worked really hard too to make it, makes me like it even more, keep up the great work!!!
Don't worry, I'm in love with this series! I also love how there is a town based on Cairo, as I love Egypt
I love Daniel's design it reminds me of David Baker. It's cool he like blade pokemon
Rafi looks like the "There is no such thing as a coincidence" guy lmao
This would be one of the best pokemon games
I like how aden is in the spinnaker tower, I happy
I AM SO HYPED!!!!! Great job Truegreen on the Asone Region!
Ron: *introduces Aden*
Me, a very big Rose and Peony simp: *_there is another_*
Love the designs! Clicked to see how aden was related to Rose and stayed for the lovely designs and lore! I also love Rafi’s concept!
since Daniel is up to trends and memes hes standing in the ''you know i had to do it to em'' pose 😂😎
Whenever this game releases I will play this game and I love the the Pokemon of this region.
Poke tactics is honestly such an obvious idea now that you bring it up. Unlike the megas, z moved, and dynamax, I feel tactics would do what the last three failed to do: add an actual layer of strategy to battle and not be a glorified nuke button.
It's incredible how thought out this is
What do you guys think of poke fusion as a region gimmick/mechanic??…like only select Pokémon are compatible to fuse with each other to create one new Pokémon like blastiose and Venusaur fusing creating venustoise in the anime… you must have both Pokémon in your party and the fusion can only be used once per battle and last for 3 turn…kinda like mega evolution
