@@BrettLEnglish Such incredible the effort you did! (5-10 yrs to develop vocabulary) We should learn is not only the language from you but also the learning spirit you have!
It's certainly a good idea for some people. It all depends on what feels good for you at the moment. You should experiment with using the text and without to see what is the most beneficial.
The first step would be to record yourself saying "word" and "world". Then listen to them while wearing earphones. See if you're pronouncing it correctly. If it's not correct, copy someone's pronunciation and listen to it until you're close to the native-speaker pronunciation. Also, voice recognition software often doesn't recognize a single word, so Google could easily mishear "word" as "world", so be sure to say it in a sentence.
You have the correct audio files. They are not broken into chunks. I'll be breaking 10 of them into chunks and posting them on RUclips for everyone to use.

There's probably no simple answer to this question. There are two elements to consider: who do you want to sound like and how will people judge you. If you want to sound like a particular person, then you can copy their pronunciation. If you worry that people will judge negatively, then you might want to choose someone else to copy.

I only knew about it because one of my students recommended it to me about 25 years ago. There are so many things to listen to that we can't keep current with it all. Sometimes, my students tell me about great English audiobooks that I've never heard of, too.
I couldn't agree more! 25 years ago, 歡樂三國志 was one of only few audio programs, but now there are far too many to listen to. We need to be super selective in what we spend our time doing.
That's exactly how I felt about Chinese in the beginning 😂 The important thing in learning connected speech is to speak slowly until your mouth gets used to the pronunciation. Then you'll automatically start speeding up. Just don't rush it.
For learning speaking, phonetic alphabets (IPA, KK) are not necessary, especially now that you can just listen to pronunciation on your phone. The most important thing is to listen to correct pronunciation and speak as much as possible while trying to imitate that pronunciation.
You're right. If you don't download them, you have to use the Google Drive viewer, which doesn't let you change the speed. It would be best to download the files to your phone and use a media player instead.

That's exactly how I felt about Chinese in the beginning 😂 The important thing in learning connected speech is to speak slowly until your mouth gets used to the pronunciation. Then you'll automatically start speeding up. Just don't rush it.
感謝分享❤
You're welcome ☺️
黃河在哪兒啊?😊
You got me! 😂
如果想英語口語變得很流暢,是否一定要先學國際拼音或者聲母等之類?
For learning speaking, phonetic alphabets (IPA, KK) are not necessary, especially now that you can just listen to pronunciation on your phone. The most important thing is to listen to correct pronunciation and speak as much as possible while trying to imitate that pronunciation.
❤受用不盡
Awesome 👍
麻雀“雖小”⋯哈哈😆⋯雖小⋯對外籍人士來說⋯難🀄️之難⋯很容易像bad language
You mean 衰小 😂
请问老师,你是美国人吗?
I've lived in the US, but I'm an Australian.
@@BrettLEnglish 老師~澳洲頂級廚師是我最最最喜愛的電視節目~我好喜歡裡面的主持人和參賽者說英文的聲音喔~覺得很好聽 ,因為很沉迷這個節目,因此我的食物英文字彙變得很不錯 😊
我是用手機掃描音檔,已經聆聽一段時間了,但是一直沒有看到頁面上有可以調整速度的符號,有人可以解惑嗎?謝謝
You're right. If you don't download them, you have to use the Google Drive viewer, which doesn't let you change the speed. It would be best to download the files to your phone and use a media player instead.
按個齒輪就會扥到音檔。
@@Kep12323 On my Android phone, I don't have a 齒輪 at all.
@@BrettLEnglish OK! I will try to download them. Thanks!
@@BrettLEnglish 但我的手機是 Android , 是有齒輪的啊 (sounds wired about what you said "Android... I don't have a 齒輪 at all" ...)
或許是您的與我的手機品牌不同所導致? Just guessing.
好方法❤
Glad you like it 👍
老師你已經四十多歲啦!
Actually, I'm 50 now 😂 It's a great age 👍
@@BrettLEnglish Age is only a number. >> This is said by another gentleman, Mr. Ron (one of my fb friends), who is 80 this year.
歡樂三國志!!!我以前把這個系列聽至少超過十遍(雖然我只是自己喜歡聽不需要練習中文🤣🤣🤣🤣
It's so much fun, isn't it! I still listen to it about once a year. 😁
跳進黃河洗不清😂
I forget where I learned that saying, but I do like it 🤣🤣🤣
I admire you very much🥹
Thanks 🙏
哈哈~老師好~我有買您的書~那女生練英文口說和發音,是不是模仿的對象也要去選女生呢~😊😊😊
We can copy different people's voices, but the main person we copy should have a voice similar to our own. 👍
@@BrettLEnglish Thanks for your advice.☺☺☺
No problem 😁
一个字“买”!
Two words: "Thank you" 😊
跳進黃河洗不清:越描越黑。
音過三十歲後耳背,三十後很多人有難,越早學音,記的才勞
我买了书,我想学美音😅
Not a problem. I speak with a relatively neutral accent, which is great because it's easy to pronounce and easy to understand.
怪不得林老师是台湾腔😊
Thanks 😁

台湾腔的外国人
Thanks 😊
老师还是个台湾腔😏
Without a doubt 😁
這就是語音學習的shadowing
It is very similar. The main difference is the addition of a written script. Shadowing is also a great technique.
