😁 yup, amazing how "lucky" you are!
Do you block all 4 steam ports
I don't block any. The factory, around 01 or so, started blocking the rear.
Hey mate I'm a viewer from Australia and I'm just curious about how much a used cast iron 6.0l bare block goes for?
Varies wildly. To just buy one from Summit Racing I think is 600 bucks
Pretty sure that sounds about right ! But I did buy used one in a box for $150 . Just depends.
You have to dig to find junkyard gold ,
Hey man your channel seem pretty cool but to up your viewers you need to cut some of the slow stuff out. It’s cool to watch a little of you ripping stuff apart but we wanna see some action and things being built. I’m NOT criticizing you at all just giving you my thoughts. I hope it helps. You will grow this is a highly viewed subject. Thanks for sharing.
AWESOME... just simply AWESOME
I live Georgia, our salvage yards are flooded with 862s.
Complete swaps actually. The only thing not plentiful is
Cadillac 6.0s, envoy Denali (aluminum)5.3.
We even get the FWD 5.3 from the Impala SS and Pontiac GP-GXP
nobody bothers them becuz they think the FWD(243 heads) engine is different than RWD. More fun for me 😂😂😂
Going to be a screamer, just add a good cam and bam, 500hp😎👍🏼

You couldn’t be more wrong about the steam ports, esp when you start pushing boost into a LS and dealing with hotter #7 or #8
Turbo 799 heads
Can't wait for the tair down
Great video thx for all the info an hell yea if u want anything in life u gotta wrk for it. I’ve been debating on buy some 799s but I got a pair of 862s in my shelf from a buddy for free Thx for all the knowledge its helped out a lot
Thank you for watching!
Hey just wondering which head bolts u use or recommend? I have a 5.3 an am switching the 706 heads to the 862 heads.
Good video, some life s+ in this one. Yee yee.
862 4 lyfe
Nice
Yeah I hear you. I am in a couple LS swap groups on dearest fbook and it's like a broken record about how "Oh you are lucky", "6 liters are so expensive", "How do you find such cheap Gen IV's", "I can't find a cheap engine like you can" Nope.... you can't. Need to get off your ass and go look around a bit. My closest U pull it yard is a 2 hour highway drive and honestly whooptee doo! Oddly enough the most memorable guy recently was also unemployed. Hmmmm... seems like you put as much effort into your LS hunts as your career lol.
Im still trying to figure out what I gained/ learned from this video, besides unsubstantiated opinions. Common, if im gonna give you 6.5 minutes of my life, teach me something. The steam ports part was good, but, give me more of that kinda stuff.
There's a literal card to the video substantiating the facts... If the card didn't show, it's up on my channel.
@@TheDrivewayEngineer Copy, so you have a dyno? Or have access to a dyno? How about talking about; "when we ran these heads on the dyno the engine made... and these other heads made"... I appreciate what you are doing on here, I really do. But there is SOOO much opinion and BS on here, its like watching CNN or MSNBC.. anybody can say ANYTHING. But what sets videos apart, (at least video's that I want to watch) is here is what we had, here is what we changed, and the net result was, the car ran 3 tenths quicker, or whatever the measurement is. But hey, keep it up, just trying to give some constructive criticism. Sorry about sounding like a jerk there, but hey, its what I do best. :) cheers.
@@514orbigger88 you have no idea what you are talking about.
@@34keishalynn Thank you for your input.
