Lucca Maffei seems so down to earth and such a talented perfumer - what a great portfolio of perfume creations from the affordable (won’t call them ‘budget’ in respect for the artistry involved) to the high-end and niche! I love the behind the scenes at the end of the video most of all. P.S. please don’t take it the wrong way as I really enjoy these interviews with perfumers (more of them please) but hopefully the genuine interest and warmth would transcend through the screen in future videos (less awkward and close ended questions and more spontaneity). Audio is so much better than past ones and I’m sure there’s a lot more effort in arranging logistics and putting this together!
He is really humble and amazing, I also love his creations for Carthusia, they are all stunning. He can take a popular scent profile and make it somehow original or better ❤
Luca Maffei is my favorite perfumer of my generation. I love how he is to able to create classical compositions using modern materials. My favorites are L'Attesa (which I feel is heavily inspired by No19) and Houbigant Bois Mystique. He is a handsome guy too if I might add :)
Loved all of his creations! Even when a scent profile is overdone he can make it original/innovative and so much better ❤ Lately I have tested his creations for Carthusia and was very impressed and eventually bought one of them on the spot and it proved to be even better when appreciating it at home 🎉😊
Sebastian! Luca! Wow I feel like I'm here in the room chatting with you both, haha!! Thank you enormously for giving IEROFANTE so much airtime, I really appreciate it, Luca did a spectacular job on it and we are thrilled thus far with the response! Cheers to you both!! Joseph Quartana Founder
This was such a cool video!! Thank you for taking us behind the scenes. So gracious and kind of him to explain things and show us. I was fangirling at some of those blends knowing this is the maestro who made them. Perfume is life! Ciao!!
thank you for providing us with such exclusive "behind the scenes" content🤗you sound a bit...tired maybe? Hope you're feeling doing good and can enjoy your trip to the fullest🙏
You are a dedicated hard-working content creator so that makes sense:) especially after the last 2 years, it might feel like there is some catching up to do when it comes to travelling abroad. How you get some good rest
Sebastian, what a delightful video! The fragrances sound bottle worthy and I enjoyed your dialogue with Luca and am still flabbergasted looking at all those little bottles.
I just purchased a Trussardi fragrance, Le Vie Di Milano- Aperitivo Milanese Porta Nuova from Jomashop. Too soon to comment, but I do like what I smell so far. It has some almond, iris, violet and maybe some amber, although I don't seem to smell much amber. The violet and iris really come forward on the initial spray. I would like to know more about this brand so looking forward to a possible video from you when you are ready!
Another great and interesting interview, Sebastian. I have a sample of Garuda and it's really great. I haven't pulled the trigger on the full bottle but it's on my radar. There's a newer but very small niche fragrance boutique that opened in my city and are offering some fragrances from some niche houses that I hadn't had the opportunity to sample previously. Unfortunately, I don't think that they're "authorized" dealers but at least I'm getting the opportunity to smell new scents.
Luca is a wonderful artist, he created Cuio Fiorentino, one of my favorite perfumes. Unfortunately, the perfume is no longer in production. I would be glad if he repeated it, but with slightly better performance and if it were more easily available. Love from Serbia
