    You hit the nail on the head when you mentioned how the ISF is analog. I find the 2is to very analog and tossable, where the newer “sporty” Lexus's seem boatier and more like luxury cruisers

      Probably has something to do with the more aggressive gearing in the 2is as well

      I owned both and the 2IS chassis is crp. Revisionist thinking make people forget the E92 M3 won every single comparison against the ISF. They tried to make the chassis better for the ISF, but like Chris Harris said, if you took out the V8, the ISF feels like 335 competitor. The 8:18 Nurburgring lap time tells the true story. . 2IS chassis is soft and flimsy with so much shuddering and cowl shake. The 3IS made it better, but RCF chassis according to Lexus officially is more than twice as stiff the 3IS chassis, which is improved over the 2IS chassis. The RCF is wider and lower so it takes 90 mph turns as if they were 40 mph. It masks speed as if it is not even fast while ISF feels a lot more strained at lower speeds. Numbers don't lie. The best skidpad test for RCF is 0.99g by Car And Driver compared to 0.92g for the ISF. You should watch hot lap review of illWillem on his channel who owns a track built ISF for time attacks and did a hotlap in a stock RCF
      His conclusion. Objectively, RCF is superior in every way

    • @KLRGT500KR
      @KLRGT500KR 4 месяца назад +6

      Agreed. I owned both ISF and RCF CF/TVD. The whole thing and ISF and harshness is due to the very poorly designed 2IS chassis and lack of torsional rigidity. RCF chassis is like a brick. Does not flex at all so the suspension despite being stiff, is overwhelmed a lot less over imperfections. RCF rolls a lot less than the ISF because RCF is lower, wider and also has a stiff chassis. ISF feels harsh over bumps, but then when you throw it around a track, it rolls like crazy on stoxk suspension. RCF actually compete well initially in 2015 with the F30 M4 because even pro racing car drivers like Randy Pobs or Tiff Needel nearly ran even lap times in the F30 M4 and RCF

      @@2ZZGE100 isf was a pretty low budget shoe horn job from factory, of course they improved other f's as they were specifically designed to be f cars rather than putting a v8 in an is250/350.
      I only drive them on the street & prefer the sedan & just like the isf, for me if going for a performance car I wouldn't take either, but for a fun reliable, somewhat practical daily the isf suits

    I have an ISF and my buddy has an RCF. I only have intake and exhaust no headers yet, and lightwheels. He was stock. We were neck and neck on the highway 60 to 130.
    RCF had a beautiful interior for sure. I love how the ISF so unassuming and raw though. People always stare because there aren't a lot and hear the v8. Love it.

    RCF is superior obviously as it is 10 years newer. I sold my 2011 with 60k miles for $35k and bought the 2016 CF/TVD RCF for $52K with 35k miles.The $30k RCF are badly maintained, accident and high mileage RCF. Clean and mint RCF are still at a minimum in high 40s. RCF feels like an evolution of the same concept where they had a proper budget to R&D everything and a skunkworks car like the ISF where the chief engineer was forced to use a flimsy 2IS chasdis. . I owned both of them and definitely RCF has the superior chassis a lot more rigid, better and more modern suspension and more modern technologies and also a lot more powerful and high revving engine. The ISF 2IS chassis is very flimsy and shudders everywhere whereas RCF under extreme tossing feels very composed and like a brick. RCF is faster on almost an of the tracks. The ISF is lighter and is a narrower taller car so it gives illusion of a smaller car. RCF also gets the TVD that makes it super nimble. ISF is also feels more raw compared to the sophisticated and advanced feel of the RCF

    I think the 2020+ RCFs will hold their value more than previous versions, because the front end is better styled and will attract more buyers. The GSF (IMO) is just too big for my taste, I'm not the Family Hauler demographic. 🙂 The ISF's ride is too rough for me personally, it's awesome on the track and canyons, but that's not where you'll be every day. When I went from my 2006 2nd Gen 350 to the 2016 3rd Gen 350 Fsport to the 2022 3rd Gen 500 FSP, the structural advances were quite noticeable with each. All are great cars and rare, but I'd say the 500 has a better blend of analog and modernization in one package. Thanks for posting!

    for the price, the RCF has a lot more modern features and versatility. picking these up for 30-35k is an absolute steal. you can find ISF’s for around the 20k price range, but for an 08-09, i think for what you’re getting that’s too much. also the 2011+ ISF prices are insane, most are going for around 40k. the ISF will definitely increase in price over the years, but i can see the RCF shooting down to the 25-30k range soon.

    Definitely the later interiors are nice, the isf has a terrible exhaust setup from front to back from factory, seems stupid to restrict it so much when it was in the m3 c63 bracket, also depending where you are it's not cheap to get the headers, & not easy to put them on.
