      I'm assuming you bought it new or very lightly pre-owned, correct? That means you probably put 50k miles on it before you you sold it? I would hope it wouldn't have any issues in that time period. I think alot of people like me who are looking to buy one of these in Today's market are going to be getting into cars around 75kish miles. I'm wondering what the Maintence will be like owning it from 75kish to until the motor or Tranny goes. If you bought one now wish no issues at whatever miles you be a fool to sell it. The prices are way higher on the 2010 and up ones because of LSD and LFA Style tachometer mainly.

      @@devanrogers3133 yes I bought a new one, how ever I owned a 2000 gs400, pretty modded with 180k on it. No issues so I was confident.
      I also own a 200k rx350 , 2013 again no issues.
      I have a gsf right now bought it new but I know a very close friend with over 120k on a gsf again that car looks better than mine and it’s full bolt on. I have seen few 200k isf locally and they are running fine.
      Mileage is not an issue on these cars, as long the owner took care of it.

    Only 8 or so for sale in Australia currently. My brother has one and it's identical to yours in spec and mods, but RHD. He had a first Gen IS300 as a daily and an Evo 6 as his other car. With Evo prices rising quickly, he sold the Evo which was rarely driven and the IS300 to buy an IS-F.
    I daily an IS350 F Sport, and have a manual swapped V160/1JZ GTE Toyota Soarer with 550whp (SC300 to you guys) - so I couldn't justify buying an IS-F and having two fast cars, as I don't think I'd drive the Soarer much if I had an IS-F as a daily.

  • @huck9293
    @huck9293 3 года назад +8

    Not having a manual transmission option really hurt the ISFs "engagement" quotient for the gearheads. Probably what's holding it back from being a sort after enthusiast car like the M cars. The lack of aftermarket mod options doesn't help either. However, I think you nailed it right on the head about the ISF being a perfect daily driver with a performance V8, tight capable chassis and suspension with an upscale fit and finish of a luxury brand. You get all of this without breaking the bank when comes time for maintenance and repairs with the ISF.

    I've said this before and I'll say it again, the initial year 2008-2010 of these cars are a bad representation of this car. That's three years of this car being mediocre in comparison to it's competition. Unfortunately those are the cheapest years so it's the one most people buy, review and modify. It's definitely Lexus' fault for half assin' this car when they launched it.

    • @camdengonzales4352

      @@camdengonzales4352 because they were way too stiff, didn't have LSD at first, and the suspension changes not only improved the ride but also the handling. They also had weaker offset uglier wheels and headlights, so compared to M3 or AMG any reasonable person wanted those instead, even with their issues. I had an 08 and now a 12.

      They didn't half ass it, there was a small team that took this up as a passion project, and they did it kind of behind leadership back, we are luck that lexus decided to go though with it in 08 because by 2010 there was a business case to make it better.

    • @hamsterbrigade
      @hamsterbrigade 3 года назад

      @@trialbygaming4588 You're description WHY they half assed it. It doesn't mean it wasn't half assed. The initial years of this car is terrible in stock format compared to e92 M3. I've owned a stock 2010 ISF, driven a 2012(A MILLION TIMES BETTER than the 2008-2010 years), owned an e92 M3, currently own a modified 2010 ISF(suspension, steering computer, LCA bushings) and an MR2 Spyder with a 2zz swap set up for track usage(a ton of mods). I have countless hours of track time over the last 20 years, been to race school and am certified for my SCCA Full Competition License. In my experience with the cars, the 2008-2010 version of these cars are not good when compared to the e92 M3, it's not even in the same ball park. I'm not telling you your fandom is bad, I'm telling you the suspension is stupid stiff(stiff does not automatically mean good handling) especially for a car that needs to be used on the street as well, the steering is absolutely dead(the 2012 changes are SOOO much better it's not even funny), the suspension geometry leaves the rear of the car being uncommunicative in heavy cornering, I could go on and on and on with all the issues. The fact that they fixed all of these from 2011-2013 tells you they were aware of them as well. The later year ISFs are such a massive upgrade.
